- New for 2023, an Intamin Launched Log Flume, Catapult Falls, coming to SeaWorld San Antonio. The Log Flumes features a launch, a vertical elevator lift, two airtime hills, and a river section. The ride will open in 2023 at SeaWorld San Antonio. Announcement video and POV sections.
The thrilling new ride will be the world’s first launched flume coaster and will feature the world’s steepest drop in a flume ride. Catapult Falls will feature North America’s only vertical lift in a flume coaster that will elevate riders above the theme park in preparation for a quick plunge. Pass Members have the opportunity to be among the first to ride. Dates to be announced.
The New Intamin joins other new Intamin-built rides around the Chain, including "Darkastle" at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and "Arctic Rescue" at SeaWorld San Diego, a pair of Straddle roller coasters.

@@machieltipo Infinity falls is pretty much the same model and that one wasn't a maintenance headache so theres some hope
@@Hydra_X9K_Music its the first of its kind lol it’s not the same model. infinity falls is a raft ride and this is a flume, big difference in ride experience
This park was already underrated. Sea World has really been knocking it out of the park.

Chiapas (log flume) in Phantasialand Germany also has a drop of 53 degrees... That was the world's first

that one was eventually announced that the drop isn’t actually 53 degrees

Finally the U.S is getting a log flume with modern elements. Needs theming like the European ones though
I remember doing this in Roller Coaster Tycoon where I would put a small upward hill right at the bottom of a large drop

It'll be a sight to behold... and maybe only that. I love Intamin as much as the next guy, but Intamin, launches, and water rides. None of those three items mix well.

It's about time they put something where the former Texas Splashdown used to sit. I just hope they made the right move with having Intamin build this ride as they're known for having lots of reliability issues.

@@revimfadli4666 Lots of water coasters use LIMs lol, so I doubt that's the reason. Could be something to do with maintenance, but then again LIMs have way fewer moving parts...

Why do they call it a coaster? It's not a Roller coaster!
Anything propelled by gravity at a certain point of a ride duration whilst on rollers attached to rails is a coaster.

Flume rides are meh. The last great flume ride was torn down at Holiday World. That thing was nuts. This just looks meh.
