Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Thanks again 👍🏴
Absolutely stunning! Great job! Yes i agree the grouting can be stressful so best to work in small areas at a time. When the suns out it can bake to the surface and it soon becomes a race against time. If you put that tile on its side and cut it with your little grinder you'll get it first time. If it's not on level ground when laid flat it's almost certain to break due to vibration. The slightest bit of debris from previous cuts underneath the tile is enough to make it rock. I've learned the hard way too!! I do all my cutting with a Stihl saw.
Also agree with you about big Matty at Brockstone, he's the man when it comes to cutting. He's on another level..
It certainly wasn’t an easy cut to make that’s for sure. So we’re going to cheat the slab directly over the top without sticking it down to the cement and make it easy to lift up if they need too.. I’ve never done that before but they said they would prefer that rather than see the manhole cover.
Matty is a wiz with the wizzer as he calls it 👍🏴
Fantastic Scott, this is why you get paid the big bucks lol
Hahhah swiping right ,love it.
Thanks Derek glad you enjoyed the video mate much appreciated oh yes always swipe right 😂👍🏴
Stunning fair play tidy 👍🏼

Thanks Darren glad you enjoyed the video mate 👍🏴
Beautiful work!!👍👍
Glad you enjoyed the video much appreciated for you watching 👍🏴
Have had stressful days with grouting porcelain.
Now use an exterior wide joint grout and do a manageable section at a time
Yeh I here you it’s hard work not a summer job it’s to slow when it’s warm. Autumn it’s great big mixes all day 👍🏴
❤️great work as usual. Happy dance🕺 😁 . It looks so good and pleasing for the eyes. Well done .
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the video and the happy dance 💃👍🏴
Top job Scott! Please film that last tile cut, it will be very satisfying
We’ve come up with a good idea for the customer and actually going to tile straight over the manhole without cementing it down just letting gravity hold it down. And if ever needed it can be grabo’ed up if necessary 💡 👍🏴
Quality stuff mate , love your work , great insight and lovely job , nice fun videos pal and keep it up , hope the van is keeping well ? 🙏🙏👍
Thanks John I’m trying to inject a bit of fun into the videos hope it went well 👍🏴
Hi Buddy
For the manhole cover
I find best to drill corners of the tile first with porcelain tile drill bit then won’t break we’ve all been there with them breaking like that so annoying.
Nice work looks great👍🏻
Thanks Paul and yes manhole covers a right royal pain in the rear. As for that tile it being in the centre of the tile I’m actually going to lay over the manhole cover making sure the cement doesn’t stick to the tile and then use my grabo to place the tile and also use it to remove the tile if so needed in the future. Never done that before but it makes sense and just use grey silicone for the joints 👍🏴
Improvise adapt and overcome 👌
Top job yet again Scott . Your slabbing is spot on mate . Mind your back throwing out shapes like that mate 🕺🕺🕺😂😂
That’s got to be the worst dad dancing I’ve ever seen 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping you supporting the boys tonight 🏴🏴🍺👍😂

38 mins in looks like your other side is coming out lol nutter :)
God I have a bit of fun make it entertaining hey dance 💃👍🏴
You have to have a laff lol, is great to enjoy work having fun etc wiggly wiggly lol 😄👍
I've just done symphony paving and Marshall's supplied symphony exterior porcelain grout, it was easy peasy.
50sqm in 2 hours
It is great stuff and really fast but on a hot day can be mega stressful 👍🏴
No your pain Scott we use flow point same shit , nightmare in warm conditions got a wash boy like you , brought the raimondi pedalo sponge on a pole , game changer soon as you squeegee finished takes off the excess in minutes , top man
I tried to get a pedalo but they didn’t have any stock at the time 👍🏴
Haha I grouted my patio today with easy grout and I feel your pain, after just being clear of covid as well so to say I was tired after it was an understatement.
It’s always a stressful day doing the grouting so easily to balls it up 👍🏴
That looks amazing, fantastic
How was the picture quality can you let me know pls 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping yeah all good
Why don’t we ever see your labourers we want an episode about them 😂
He’s shy he’s quite happy just reading his book 👍🏴
its easier on the wrist(i find)using a float to level my beds. i find it a bit easier too to get levels quicker.....ps/ them grabos though :) game changer
I need to buy a new plasterers trowel I’ll try remember for Monday glad you’re enjoying watching the videos 👍🏴
Well at least if the tiling drops off you have a career in dancing 🤣🤣🤣 but another quality job, nice work. Yes I'm on about the tiles not the dancing 🤣🤣
I should be on Britain’s got talent 👍🏴
Hia Scott !! Lovely looking patio mate but different too , quirky but tasteful 👍🏻👍🏻 oh on the ‘clip front’ I finished a job a sacked them off half way through for first time in nearly a year ! God it’s so much bloody faster without them ! But they do have their uses just not if you wanna get stuff done ! Great vid mate loving it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If I wasn’t making videos I probably would stop using them myself unless they were going to be really handy 👍🏴
Ferkin funny but brill. Nice one Scotty
Cheers Andy glad you find the videos entertaining 👍🏴
Jokin apart, followed your methods on my patio a few weeks ago and hey pesto spot on!
@@andyyoung814 that’s great news love hearing stuff like that much appreciated I’m glad it worked out for you 👍🏴
Tremendous Scott get the Dewalt cordless concrete saw very low vibration great for porcelain wouldn’t be without it. OX fully rimmed blade cuts tremendously well.
I’ve been thinking about getting one of those Dewalt battery cutters they do look good 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping
Trust me it’s a great bit of kit buddy. Best cordless cutter on market by a mile has a jet either side of blade for water. Get the 12ah battery’s. Think they have 15ah batts coming out soon. The 54 volt cordless grinder is top notch also. 12ah and lasts a long time. Rubi viper blade for grinder cuts porcelain great dry for small awkward bits. That’s inspection chamber is a grinder and cordless concrete saw all day long buddy.
Man of your calibre should have these on your kit.
Loving your work buddy 😎😎🤟
Yeap and Dewalt cordless paddle. Can’t be doing with cables if can be avoided lol.
Hi Scott .
Love the tips , and great laughs ,
Any advice for mixing quantities for sbr to mortar and slurry , I’m laying 20 tiles 600 x 600 , dreading it lol , but want the mrs to think I know what I’m doing .. only dream of being as skilled as you matey , keep at it , you cheer a lot of us up 😃👍
Hi paul yeh just as long as you make it into a paste it’s good to go. Sbr and cement works well too 👍🏴
Another nice job , Scott . Just wondering how you got over the pattern match on the corner by the extension. I see you laid them tight to the house. Luckily the house was square 😁 I try to work in a shingle border to overcome anything that might be out of square.
I checked all the dimensions 1st to see if everything was square and go 10mm of the house as for the pattern on the corner well it only worked on one corner in the middle so we started there the other end was what it was but the customer was consulted on the corners out of my control another 2 on the ends either side but out of the way hidden hopefully with pots 👍🏴
Amazing, how do I mix my SBR, how much SBR to cement? got 5L bostik. cementone from Screwfix. I am laying porcelain slabs on a 4-1 mix.
Poor quite a lot of SBR and add cement until it turns into a paste something easy to put on the back of the tile I don’t know a ratio to give you sorry 👍🏴
Hi Scott
What's the best way to remove cement slurry marks from porcelain paving?
thanks
Brick acid patio cleaner works the best and won’t affect the porcelain keep away from cement joints though yeh 👍🏴
Hi Scott. Great work as always, been in groundwork’s 35 years now , loads off patios etc but when I do them I normally charge day work but now I’m doing more and more porcelain and feel I should be earning more ( yes my back and Knees , the stairs first thing in the morning is normally quite funny ) what sort off rate should I charge per M2 to lay only having done prep on day work , thanks for the videos and making us smile 😃
Hi Lee and yes my price per metre square is £180 all in 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping Thanks for that Scott. Keep doing what you do great to see proper tradesmen.put your feet up it’s the weekend 👍😃
@@leebishop4485 sounds like you need to buy yourself a massage chair as well every little helps thanks for the comments 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping too cheap lad 😅
@@jamesdodds2548 what’s up james 👍 yeh £190 this year and btw what’s your rate without detail stuff 👍🏴
The stress level is high we demand same music and dance to loosing the bun. Please
I intend to have a bit of fun in all my videos with that song it’s great and it’s called talking stain dance btw 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping yes you told me I just can't get that song other than when you play it. Thenk you for sharing your beautiful life

Great job. And removing the tile that had broken corner you can tell you take pride in your work. Mind me asking what sort of price do you charge per sqm for those tiles with a border? What areas do you work. Thx
£180m2 for porcelain and thanks for the compliment 👍 btw how was the picture quality 👍🏴
South Wales mostly just the Cardiff arra
Quality fine on my phone. Thx for the info. I’m midlands way so but for for you to travel :)
@@WalkingWithNay21 thanks for that 👍 you could always go online and type in local marshals installer click site enter postcode and then 10 local installers to you should be on screen
@@tidybrickslandscaping oh I will do thx. Just like your workmanship, never know who to trust these days.
Amazing, attempting to lay my own porcelain patio at the moment, been watching your videos for advice and bought the tilers tools clips, worth the money, been using a primer for the tiles that requires to be dry before laying and have a couple slabs that hasn’t bonded to tile and has came loose, whats best advice to fix it?
I’ve heard of this slurry that needs to be dry I think it’s a crazy idea no wonder some have come loose it really needs to be wet on wet 👍🏴
Me again 😁 what mallet is that and I have to get myself one of those Bridge saws. Do you use it for sandstone, limestone too? Just a switch the blade?
Can’t remember the name of the mallet but I do believe it’s broken already as for the bridge so definitely a good investment tool and yes just buy the blades for the stone or porcelain or whatever each time 👍🏴
Looks amazing, roughly how much will it cost to have a project done like this? I’m based in Shropshire.
Yes I would like to know also
Looking at around 20K 👍🏴
Hi tidy
I bought that blade by mistake from Phil.
You interested in having it half price
Not been used
So what blade did you buy anyways 👍🏴
❤👍👍👍👍☝
👍🏴
Skills
Thanks Cat glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏴
Its the blade mate why kept cracking toolstation arbucus tile blade
Never a easy task hey both blades were supposed to be top end discs anyways tough day 👍🏴
Try abracs from toolstation 👍
4.5k on the wrap !!!! Jeez!!!! I would struggle to throw that at a van over tools for instance wow ! Very expensive that mate seems at least 2 grand too much !
It seems I have very expensive taste and the actual material itself wasn’t run-of-the-mill and now I have one of a kind van 👍🏴. With everything else I’m doing to it I’m spending about 7k. New alloys and 4x4 tires come on Monday.. Electric mirrors and windows fitted by Wednesday
would 2-3 inch subase be ok? top work by the way
You need 4 inches subbase 100mm to start 👍🏴
You need 100mm sub base for a patio 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping cheers boyo
Wrong way round on corner tut tut
The other end of the patio is the most used so we started the pattern from there and worked our way around and unfortunately the pattern did work the same as the house I had the discussion with the customer and what it is is what it is couldn’t make everything everywhere which was a shame 👍🏴
Don’t think I’ve ever had a turf that’s 1m2, if you measure them they are much closer to 0.9m2
That’s most likely why I was short then ? 👍🏴
Is this a repeat
Hi Scott great job as usual what jet wash do you use
@@terrygreen7980
Hyundai 3100psi petrol a have there great washers 3 years warranty with them also.
No it’s not a repeat 👍🏴
I believe my jet washer is McWhirter 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping oh. Certain I watched this last week....before I watched this I knew at the end you would have a pipe that needs sorting....top class job though 👍🔥🔫
All your gadgets and you don't have a laser level???
I don’t mind laser levels water levels always work and so easy to check 👍🏴
yid buy another van for that price mate buy tools instead
Certainly a hell of a lot more money than I thought but sometimes just say sod it and do it 👍🏴
Clueless.
And whys that
