    About TwoSecondsWatch
    Founded by two friends casually talking about watches and enjoying them, TWOSECONDSWATCH is a hobby turned business. We are watch lovers and enthusiasts first and always, and we want to make sure that every person's watch journey is one that is of enjoyment and also discovery.
    Collecting and owning watches is a journey for most of our clients, and we hope to add value by not only procuring and curating the watches but we only sell watches we ourselves would love to wear and personally own. We also give honest write-ups and sometimes review and critique the watches we sell and talk about how it feels on the wrist - because we know what it's like to want a watch, to finally buy it, and then realize you don't feel the way you thought you did! We are uniquely online-based only to keep the costs low, so we can pass the savings to our customers. As such, our watches and straps are competitively priced and reflect that as well.

      There are many people who are moved to buy Tudors because they actually wanted Rolex because they aren’t able to get one at retail. This is common practice by Authorised Dealers to push potential customers to Tudors. This has always been the Rolex/Tudor strategy in the market. There are many, many out there who have buyers regret after getting a tudor black bay. Of course there are people like yourself who buy Tudor for what you like about your watches. Since you’re in that camp, congratulations 🥳.

      @@twosecondswatchMy authorized dealer never pushed to buy anything. I own a ‘41 Wimbledon and 5 Tudors… I think influencers or ppl in general gotta have a reason or comment on others ppl choices. It’s ridiculous and pretentious, you gotta buy the best of the best or your poor. This video is crazy; so, let me state a fact: if it’s not the crown(Rolex) you going lose money or value period. The reason the black bay line is pushed because it’s a tool/sport watch that covers all parameters without the price. Most ppl aren’t walking around with a $3-5000 watch on, period facts.

    The price and marked you talk about is pretty accurate for Omega as well. Yes you can get almost every watch at any time, but the prices just keeps getting higher. And it's great that they're even going for below retail in the secondary market but we shouldn't value a brand because of their grey market value.

    I do agree about how Tudor did accidentally attract the wrong buyers (meaning those that actually wanted, but couldn't get a Rolex), but if you walk into any grey market dealer's store, the sheer amount of Rolexes sitting there is off-putting. Yes, many have moved on from Tudor, but many have also moved on from Rolex. That's just the nature of things. I recently picked up my BB58 in blue, not because I can't afford others, but because I genuinely love the BB58 design.
    And in a way, I do understand that Tudor is kind of stuck with this hero product that they've created. Very much like AP and Patek. Even if Tudor markets those other watches, they just don't have the same demand or brand cache to get picked up by the masses like an Omega Constellation or a Longines Heritage would.
    As a watch, the Black Bay design template just works. However, as a brand, Tudor has a long way to go to make it as aspirational as Omega. Perhaps that's why they're coming out with gold Black Bays now 😆
    Great video and analysis by the way! 👌

      Hey @watcheswithabdullah thanks for your awesome input. As a fellow enthusiast I’m hoping they can also focus on some of their other lines - something unique and not just call everything a black bay. I have nothing against the black bay 58 and original 41s as well, they were great watches and still are. It’s just that the new variations are kinda tiring. Maybe a new prince date chronograph would be great, perhaps 2025? 🤔

    Thought provoking video. People seem to forget that Tudor is Rolex. I’d be interested to know how many people eventually move from Tudor to Rolex, I’m sure it’s a lot. Trust me Rolex knows that.
    In my opinion Rolex doesn’t want Tudor to be as high end a brand, on the same level as Rolex. I think it’s Raison D’etre is twofold. 1. For those who can’t afford a Rolex and will actually stay with their Tudor and 2. To be a stepping stone to Rolex.
    For the collector I think both reasons are valid. Personally I really like a couple of the Tudor lines, blue pelagos with date, is a favorite for sure and if I ever got one I could see myself keeping it even if I managed to get a Rolex at some point.

      You’re right and I agree that the Tudor brand is strategically positioned to always be the step down brand from Rolex, which is why a lot of their designs do mirror and are also many times homages of Rolex designs. You can’t separate both companies as they are so similar and Tudor is and always will be a stepping brand to lead people to eventually want Rolexes. I don’t think that will change anytime soon.
      I do wish that Tudor will explore a lot of their other heritage designs, and not just focus on the ‘Black Bay’. Here’s to hoping! 😀

    I have two Omega watches (Aqua Terra, Speedy Sapphire) and one Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 and wearing right now my BlackBay 54. Honestly, after acquiring my Oyster and 54 I’m saturated with watches from both of these brands. Love them both don’t get me wrong, but I don’t really feel the need to get anymore from them. Love my Aqua Terra and Speedy and Omega as a brand way more. I was thinking about putting my name down on the list for a GMT2, but it is just too much money and the waiting list turns me off. Even if you are happy to get one at retail you can’t really enjoy the watch, because you always have to think about where you travel with it and your safety so in the end you gonna wear something more discrete like the Oyster. For me it’s the quintessential Rolex anyway. It took me 2.5 years to get a simple Oyster. Insane!

Why not calling the BB 58 just 58, the BB Professional just Professional, the BB GMT, just heritage GMT, or classic GMT or mid-century GMT or.... just not BB 58 GMT.... I disagree. Tudor is aiming for Omega quality, and is the only brand other than Omega offering METAS. METAS is of huge value to me, because in a world where microbrands offer so much value, anything special that is difficult or impossible to achieve by microbrands is of great value. Features of Tudor such as silicon hairsprings, METAS, high power reserve, screw pin tool-less microadjust bracelets, inhouse movements - these are features that no other more inexpensive brand offers. Longines is the next closest competitor but they don't have inhouse, don't have screw pins (in fact use the lousiest and worst bracelet pin system: the cotter pin system), don't have METAS.
    As for why the resale is plummeting, how about you compare with Longines, Tag Heuer and other mid-tier brands?

    This is obvious , this guy is a Greymarket dealer, he has his own advertisements through out the video . Tudor is way more innovative and to say that all they have is black bay is total BS.
    There is the Pelagos in 42mm with 500m depth and the FXD in Titanium as well and now the Pelagos in Carbon fiber with fixed lugs like the Pelagos FXD in 39mm .
    So you have a variety of sizes and types of watches from divers to chronos in the Pelagos line .
    You also have the Black bay in 37mm 39mm and the heritage in 41mm.
    Now with the new 41mm that is Metas it’s an even better diver and looks much better with their version of the jubilee bracelet .
    Tudor is advancing and this guy is not being correct about Tudor prices plummeting because the fact of the matter is that Tudor doesn’t stay at Retail price they drop just like an Omega, Cartier or IWC.
    Tudor has come out with the new black bay 58 GMT which most people may not have noticed but it’s the homage to the Original Rolex GMT 6542 with the colors almost exact and the dial with guilted hands and dial .
    The only thing different is the aluminum bezel vs the Bakelght bezel that was on the original .
    We will see way more from Tudor using Titanium , Carbon Fiber, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
    Be prepared for a new Tudor chrono in 18& Gold that will have the old dial configuration as the Tudor Tiger Chronograph of the last 99’s and the Tudor Big Block.
    Rolex is using Tudor to test the market and it’s obvious .
    We will probably see Rolex METAS in a very short while as well.
    Bottom line I thought this video was going to be something with substance but it’s just someone’s skewed opinion on Tudor .
    Go to a Tudor boutique or an AD and see what they have and it’s impressive .
    To compare them to Rolex isn’t the case anymore they are a sister company but they have their own movement company Kenessi and now with Metas certification they are in an elite group of manufacturers .

    Tudor isn’t pushing anything. They are selling models that are in demand and what the market wants. This sounds like omega fanboy drivel. Wow the comments section got flooded with comments from people that bought Tudors when really what they wanted was a Rolex. Here’s my take on this. Omega is not Rolex and it will never catch up, forced to endlessly compete with Tudor.

    I had 2 Tudors. Black Bay 41 and 41 heritage blue bezel. The quality was amazing. But to be honest I just realized the design was too plain for my taste and if I was to buy a boring watch there would have to be a reason. So if historically the Explorer is boring well, that’s the nature of the beast but getting a copy of a boring watch was too much. Got an iwc and a breitling since

    if you want to compare it to Rolex, wich in my eyes is wrong. Then Rolex only have Oysters. They are all the same watches in different sizes. Tudor at least has the Black Bay and the Pelagos line and even some others. And the Pelagos has with the FXD even a different case. Look at their dials, all new, no other company makes any of that. And on top they can anytime go back a produce models like the North Flag. Who cares about the secondary market. That is what killed watches in general. To maybe over dramatise it is is like the quarz crisis. Back in the days nobody cared about resell value. We should be happy they drop in prices wich is actually normal for an older watch. Some of the prices for vintage Rolex or vintage Tudor are ridiculous. ON top of that, wich company has made so many ne watches in 10 years? The big players are making the same watches for the last decades. Omegas Speedmaster? The Seamaster has not changes since the 80s! Rolex has not made in new watch since 70 years? Look at Longines they used to be an important brand, now Swatch owned and boring and bad to the bone except maybe the Spirit. I mean they could be something really great bu choose to be. Why do we need new watches every year?

      @@twosecondswatch thank you for your video. But i never said in my comment that you attacked Tudor. I was referring to your video, saying Tudor just makes Black Bays and this being the reason the resell price declines. And Rolex just makes Oysters and so on. The reason prices a dropping is because people are waking up and not acting as if watches must be worth more after you purchase them. No Omega or Zenith or all the other brands is worth more. Look how cheap even an unworn Zenith is. Rolex is just a hype and not worth it in my eyes. I hope their prices drop more and the wait list game is just bogus. At least with a Tudor wait list you get your watch in a couple weeks. That is realistic.

    • @twosecondswatch
      @twosecondswatch  25 дней назад

      Thanks for your kind words and clarification. Yes, I do believe that no watch should be worth more than the retail price. The sad reality is that many dealers and great market dealers have been playing the market and creating a false sense of demand, and the brands such as Tudor and Rolex are slow to react or ignore dealing with such issues. In actual fact the brands do not intervene as when the secondary prices rise due to demand, it makes their brand value and perception much higher. It’s kind of working for JLC since they upped the retail price of the reverso significantly, now secondary prices also have risen in tandem and demand is increasing.

  • @LeonXOV
    @LeonXOV 26 дней назад +1

    Couldn't be more true. My very first watch that exceeds the 5 figure (I'm in Malaysia) is the Tudor Black Bay and stepped up into JLC and Panerai. Tudor will always be the stepping stone brand not just for Rolex, but for another higher end brands too. It doesn't have its own identity, even Seiko can stand on its own, but not Tudor.
    Also, the full gold Tudor is the guaranteed ticket for any Rolex SS models 😂😂😂😂😂😂 aka the ultimate rubbish.

    Horrible video. I agree that the Black Bay line has run its course, even though I love my Black Bay 54. I will give you that. However, while it is true some buy into Tudor because they can't afford or do not want to buy a Rolex for the asking prices, the Submariner of today looks drastically different than any Black Bay currently offered. Hence some buy a Black Bay because they like the design over the Submariner, and they can afford both. Personally, I like the design of my BB54 over the bulky, shiny, ceramic Submariner with a gloss black dial and white gold hands and markers. I owned a submariner. I respect the submariner. The latest ceramic submariner is just not for me. I am a fan of Submariners from the 50s, and 5-digit subs. Many who can actually afford Rolex have similar sentiments as me.
    Good luck with your channel.

    • @twosecondswatch
      @twosecondswatch  18 дней назад

      The black bay is an amalgamation of the Rolex submariner, Tudor submariners and Snowflake versions. It is clearly influenced in many ways whether you like it or not. The latest Tudor Black Bay Black just released in Watches and Wonders further re-emphasise their connection to a Rolex submariner with their pairing of their new jubilee style bracelet. The new design of making the case back protrude out a little makes it very much like a current submariner which sits a little higher on the wrist. The brand deliberately wants to bring the connection to Rolex Submariner, and even many watch publications are calling the new 2024 Black Tudor Black Bay - a Submariner alternative. 😀

    • @twosecondswatch
      @twosecondswatch  22 дня назад

      If you watch my video carefully, I speak specifically about Tudor attracting the wrong type of buyer for the Black Bay line. In the history of Tudor, Tudor has always made watches by using Rolex parts and most of their designs also mirror Rolex popular models. This was in Tudor DNA when the company was founded. There were many buyers who jumped onto the Black Bay line who called the watches homage Submariners. There were many Tudor submariners made before the Black Bay was launched, which of course was discontinued and in the 90s were very similar to Rolex Submariners. They even carried the same name. Of course, just because you don’t buy a Tudor Black Bay because you don’t want a Rolex does not mean many other people actually do. In many Asian markets, Tudor is sold side by side with Rolex and you’ll be surprised how many buyers are pushed to buy the Black Bay series when they can’t buy a Rolex Submariner.

    Majority luxury stuff is over priced. There is point of diminishing return on watches as well. It is absolutely foolish to use watch as investment the other investment methods are much more lucrative option to grow money. Rolex grey market is an anomaly very hyped by you tubers as well there are so many better watches than Rolex to pay anything over msrp even worse pay more for used, no financial sense whatsoever.
    Omega loose also very badly but who cares. Tudor is selling for Tudor not Rolex that is bottom line. Rolex lot better in every way than tudor and no one buys Tudor for Rolex. 5k is not money spend foolishly people know what they’ve buying at this price point.
    Ridiculous video

      If you watched the video and my analysis I never said or indicated that a watch is an investment in any way. I am merely stating my the fact that the preowned prices of tudor have fallen much more compared to other competitors brand. I also give my thought analysis to why that is so and the overflow of tudor watches in the secondary market which is why the prices drop. It is demand and supply, when there is an excess supply in the market the prices will drop.

    • @ias3068

      So people should look at resale value of watch before buying. Most items loose value once you buy it, there are very few things that appreciate in value. Buying these watches at this price point is loosing proposition from day one but that has not tanked the industry nor people have moved away buying these watches, this is how it is. Majority never think of selling it and be ahead, may be 1-5 percent thinks they will make money or loose less.
      I get it some are over priced for what they offer in comparison but I don’t look at resale value or used market, too many fakes out there to trust buy used. You have your point.
