In a RUclips world full of polished perfection, thank you for an in depth look at "warts 'n all" reality.
I can't think of a better example of a budget build made to answer a need, that has gone on to pay back far in excess of expectations. As the engineers used to say where I worked "If it ain't broke, don't mess with it!"
Sorry to hear about your back... speaking from experience, dodgy backs are a pain in the ass! In my case, finally finding the right person to help was life-changing.
Back problems don't ever seem to go away completely, but at least I have some worthwhile solutions that help me.
"Nil desperandum carborundum"... "Don't let the bastard grind yer down!" 😜 👍

I did my back in when age 12 I fell out of an apple tree, it bothers me every few years when |I forget about it. This certainly was a budget build but as you say it has far exceeded my expectations and is actually more accurate and easier to fix than the few commercial ones I have seen. 👍

It's not pretty but it seems to do the job well so that's what matters in the long run.

I think that applies to most of my shed 😁

Hey PlasmaDave 👋👋, awesome project! I'm planning to build a DIY metal cutting machine myself that can cut up to 40mm thick metal sheets, but I don't have much technical knowledge. Could you be more specific about what exactly is cutting the metal? Is it a fiber laser, plasma cutter, or something else? Also, could you suggest some major components I'll need for this kind of build? Your guidance would be super helpful. Thanks!

@@LakshyaJangidStreams hey there, this is a plasma cutter. To cut 40mm steel with a fiber laser you would be looking at at least a 20kw machine, well out of my experience.
