- Today I had the chance to check out the brand new 2018 Audi R8 V10 Plus! What an incredible supercar with great exterior lines and beautiful interior materials! The exhaust note on this sounds amazing and driving this car is such an experience! The fixed rear wing, carbon fiber trim pieces and an aggressive look really make this car stand out!! The new re-freshed design has a great look with more aggressive lines running all around, and the attention to detail is extremely high!

I love the sound of audi v10 or any v10 i like it a bit more then v8s but i cant afford one lol unless its the older bmw m5& m6 v10 cars that go for 16-30k before they changed the v10 to v8..i dont really see many v10 these days

Im going to take delivery of mine R8 v10 plus on this monday. Im excited. But the thing im worried about is ground clearance. Is that an issue. Any owner here??
From owning my 2010 r8, probably similar clearance, I've only hit the under skid a few times on very steep entrances, but not hitting the bumper. I drive it everywhere and don't have issues with clearance.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed there’s also an Audi R8 Performance (used to be called Audi R8 plus). It has a permanent spoiler unlike the retractable ones. If you’ve driven it, do you know if it sounds the same?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed the drivetrain won’t affect the exhaust but the Quattro version has more horsepower which means louder right?
@@supermanbox1 I’ve been in the newer V10 Plus, and haven’t seen any fixed spoilers from the factory. It should still sound the same.

They only come with the auto, previous generations had the manual option.

It would be interesting to see where these fall price wise on the used market! I bought my 2012 for close to half of it's original MSRP, so maybe these will get close to $100k or dip under one day!!

Less, $150-160k can be had with a little patience.
With even more patience they can be had for $130-140K.

FOOT POUNDS!! Not pound feet. There are pounds at one foot of leverage and there are pounds at one inch of leverage, hence "lbs-ft" and "lbs-in". People who don't know what that mechanical notation means say "pound feet" but I'm just waiting to hear "pound inches" so I can cringe.
Pound feet is hilarious. Take a one foot wrench, and apply 500 lbs. of force to the end, so you can put 500 "foot pounds" of torque to a shaft or bolt. 500 foot pounds is written as 500 lbs.-ft. Throughout my entire career as an engineer never have I ever heard the "pound feet" thing until fairly recently. I think it's catching on because all the young folks making RUclips videos are hearing each other say it. I only mention this in comment sections if I like the people making the videos. Otherwise I don't say anything.
I hope all you fine folks benefit from this information so you don't make engineers shake our heads. One more thing. When you hear people revving the hell out of their engines while they're not engaged in gear, they're telling the world that they don't comprehend the vibrational harmonics can't be transmitted out through the transmission shaft, which causes the vibrations to beat the bloody hell out of the crank bearings, especially at the front. Don't rev your engine like that. Racing engines require high revving for several reasons, but then racing engines don't last long, do they?

It gives me great pleasure to interact with young minds.
