- In this episode, I show a running LMTV M1078 purchased exclusively for parts being rendered into spare parts. From stripping the cab and cab removal to pulling the engine, axle, and transmission. All that is left is the bed that is stored on top of the frame rails. Also, is a look back on my "skits" in the last year and "characters" that I have introduced in my LMTV series. Enjoy!
A great feat of work. Thank you, everyone that helped David and supported his channel.
So many things to strip off, done and just think. Everybody that worked on this project is still alive and still moving around as normal. Great Job Dave
I was truly thankful for all the help AND safe handling of the job... I feel very honored and blessed, and give the glory to God. I find it an honor to count you as one of those that helped make this project a reality.
Am I the only one who is impressed with the fact that about the first half of the work was done almost exclusively with hand tools?
Lots of elbow grease… I don’t know if I ever want to do that ever again! LOL!!!
One heck of a project, for sure!
What a great ending of an era on your channel.
Nice tribute to Partrisha.
Great journey!
Seeing this made me think of deleting the planetary with a solid gear. That would achieve a much higher axle ratio, and give the axles a lot more options for the axle swap
People are doing that with the ECO Hubs. I am thinking about doing that myself... someday.
Rest in pieces Patricia.
LOL! When I get to start selling the parts that I don't need, I was thinking of including a certificate of authenticity for a genuine PARTriSha part, as seen on RUclips. :-D
Do you still have the fuel tank straps?
M1088Guy yep!
@@HelicoolsHelipad ok can you tell me how much you would want for straps and brackets?
Whatare you going to do with frame and bed
I do have plans for the frame and bed if I can swing it. It will not be easy, but I think it is do-able. The revealing will come later.
I subscribed !!
Great video Sir
ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND YOURS SIR !
DAVE'S NOT HERE LMAO !!
John Hutsenpiller Jr LMBO! Thanks, my friend. More to come, soon! 😀👍🏼
I have an idea for the extra cab do you still have it? What I would like to do and has only happened in my mind as I’m unable to venture down this road right now due to obligations and incomplete projects and as always capital or contract.
Take your good cab and remove the windows in the back. Cut the cab near as possible to the back wall while still cutting through the window opening. Then with your spare cab cut the whole cab in half at the door side of the window opening. Weld the two pieces together that give a double size window and have custome glass made. This will extend the cab length to double what ever that window is sized? I don’t have a truck and this all lives in my mind so I guess 16-18”.
Hopefully a new set of seats could be put in behind the front. Potentially the back of the cab would need to be cut and have a box welded on to accommodate the seats if the window extension is not enough. They would be higher than the front seating.
So to acomidate this you could do my next cool idea!!
Remove the top of the cab 4-5” above the gutter just befor it. Rounds over. On the old cab cut out the windshield including all the steel top bottom and sides weld to the top of cab as an air foil as seen on big rigs to push the air over the habitat box being carried on the back. Custom roof would be needed to extend to the back of the cab and connect the sides. You cold. Potentially have small windows in the sides as well. this should elevate the cab by as much as a couple feet the rear seat should be mounted a foot to 14” higher that the fronts so there is a clear view out of the second windshield.
Touring through mountainous areas would be spectacular in this cab as your view would now extend out of sight for the front seat occupants. This should allow for seating for 6 at max, 4 occupants and a pass through at minimum. And be the cooles LMTV in the world. I would do it on a M1088 with a 20’ habitat with a 1.5-2.5k frame extension in front of the rear axles. That’s my glorious idea that I likely will not get the opportunity to do! If some one has about $300,000 I’ll build you a complete truck!
Those are some serious aspirations for this truck! If I were building an overland expedition vehicle, I might consider it. But the truck is a work truck for the Gospel Mission... so no habitat for me. Maybe one on my M1078 once truck now trailer... maybe someday.
Oh well... In my mind and on your page it will stay for now then! He lives!!...@@HelicoolsHelipad
That last bit is for resurrection Sunday today!
Great job @Dakota Wood LOL
Yep... he gave me the idea. Thanks, Dakota!
Can I ask how much you paid for “Part-Trisha”
The Gospel Mission paid $1500 for the right to salvage the truck for parts for 6 months. I received one 6 month extension to finish the job. Thanks for asking!
Buy this man some cordless tools!
I will let my wife know, right away! :-D
Hello, how can I contact you for parts?
Dan
You can contact the Lewis County Gospel Mission or find me on Facebook and send me a Messenger message.
Hi Dave I am a new owner of an LMTV in your area. Are you selling parts off Partricia? I need a few things! Mike
MrMikey4026 yes! I will be selling some parts after June 2020. I am under a salvage contract that prohibits me from selling sooner than that. Just add your items that you are looking for in the comments, and it will serve as a rudimentary bookmark. Cheers!
@@HelicoolsHelipad Thanks Dave, still working on getting the truck here from Belfair. I live just east of the Brad that everyone knows. One of the guys from PNW Steel Soldiers is going to tow it home for me. I have enjoyed and learned much from your videos! The truck is having transmission control problems at the moment, will not move due to wiring issues. Found no problems in the valve body.
Parts needed so far: looking for a CTIS control, it is gone. I may not fix the rest of the system but my OCD hates anything missing. One of the sway bar link bolts is missing as well as both bushings. That is what I have noticed so far, I am sure there will be more!
Regards Mike
@@MrMikey4026 Okay... it's a tough thing parting with an spare CTIS controller that works, but I hate it when folks can't find the stuff they need or find only parts that gouge their wallets. Contact me again in June 2020. If you still need it, I'll sell it to you for a reasonable price. (We are selling parts to help fund the mission work we do for the local Gospel Mission.) Welcome to the family, friend!
The only thing missing is at the end you should have had the Statue of Liberty seen.
This was the salute to PARTriSha and all the folks that helped me part it out. As one of those, THANK YOU!
@@HelicoolsHelipad That was the burning paintbrush seen. BTW what did Jebediah Do to PARTriSha ?
@@badbadbob1 Ol' Jeb didn't do anything with PARTriSha... it was also a year in review of the characters that I introduced.
