I just put a 24lb trolling motor on a quick release pole that attaches to my bow rail , it has plenty of thrust , to save on messing about with the electronics i ordered a 60amp pwm with foward and reverse plus proportional controll for the motor speed so i can controll it from the helm , not as fancy as a remote controller but i feel like it will be a good solution for me , thanks for the idea as it gave me insperation once i saw how easy it was to impliment . for a 40 foot sailboat 24lb seems enough to push the bow around for docking manuvers on a still day :)
