if the section is circular the calculation at 5 meters gives me: 1.5e5*.1^2*3.1415/4=1178 N or about 117 kg. It is not a force that the legs are not able to apply. I weigh about 100 kg and I am able to carry several tens of kg, so I think that the legs can apply this force without difficulty. Let's say that 5 meters seems to be the operating limit. Which is not very little: it is comparable to the operating limit of an oxygen rebreather.

I just put a 24lb trolling motor on a quick release pole that attaches to my bow rail , it has plenty of thrust , to save on messing about with the electronics i ordered a 60amp pwm with foward and reverse plus proportional controll for the motor speed so i can controll it from the helm , not as fancy as a remote controller but i feel like it will be a good solution for me , thanks for the idea as it gave me insperation once i saw how easy it was to impliment . for a 40 foot sailboat 24lb seems enough to push the bow around for docking manuvers on a still day :)

_Something_ (was that what you wanted me to write?) I was hoping this was going to be about smaller gauge wires from 26AWG and up or is it down o around 14AWG? I have to use 26AWG and put ferrules on them for a 5V or is it 3V LED project I am working on and I am a complete numpty with wires and electron stuff.

I'm thinking the hydraulic one even though it's very slow would be good if you're in an awkward position trying to crimp because that it would allow you to set the wire and crimp properly

Hi Andy, beautiful boat! Am building Modells and a small version of hopefully a bigger one, one day and always interested in new and out of the box ideas. Did you find those plastic pipes in that shape or did you form them yourself? Am pondering with the idea of using UV stable HDPE sheet material on a wooden frame? Lots of interesting videos! Thanks so much!! Stephan

Thanks for that. I have just returned a 6mm to 50mm mechanical crimper due to it creating those little side wings on the terminal's. I won't buy another hydraulic crimper after having a brand new one fail straight out of the box due to leaking fluid. I have been wondering how well the indent type work and that cut lug using a larger terminal looks like they work very well, I will be buying one this week, thanks again.

Great video and explanation, and thank you very much for the code! That is the part that keeps me from getting into Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi projects. Two questions though: 1) The relay module that I found that 'visually' matches the one you used says that it's "5v", but you're using it with a 12v setup. Is this indeed correct? I don't want to get the wrong part and instantly burn it out. 2) If I wanted to get other pcs of equipment in on the shopvac party, like my radial arm saw, planer, miter saw, band saw, ect, am I right in thinking that I can simply use an additional voltage sensor module at each device, with all of the connections run in parallel with the first? I believe that the nano and the code you wrote wouldn't know the difference, and would simply sense the voltage and actuate the shopvac, but I question it due to my lack of coding experience in this. Ironically, I used to write my own video games from raw code on the Commodore 64 in the early 80's, and many websites from raw HTLM using nothing but Notepad in the mid to late 90's, so I'm not 'new to coding', but PTSD put what seems to be holes in that part of my brain, and it's just gone now.
