    I love the mgm grand. Never stayed but do love the amenities . I do agree that it does not feel crowded at the casino. Good catch! I’ve never been to the buffet. Glad you used the my Vegas rewards. I use that too! The desserts looked better than most of the other foods tho. lol. I agree. You are not over reacting with the price of coke. It’s way too much. But yeh it’s not mgm’s fault. And likely Tao s. Btw you should try the Brad garret comedy club. I went last time and it was so much fun. They had speciality drinks that were super cool. The comedians were super funny too. I really prefer mgm vs Caesar. That’s just me tho. I do want to stay there at mgm grand tho for the pool. I always stay at Mandalay Bay bc of the pool. It’s awesome. Try it next time. Way to go on the handpay. So happy for you! ❤❤🎉

      I would absolutely love to try the Brad Garret Comedy club on that next trip. I imagine that with the right comedian it’s a great experience.
      I will always make sure to check the price on a bottle of coke in the future. I didn’t know I was paying mini-bar prices.
      We’re hopefully going to be staying at Mandalay Bay later this year for our 1 year anniversary (of our wedding and also of the channel)

    My son and I enjoyed the video. His dad and I took him to Vegas in the 90s when they were promoting it for kids. We didn't stay at MGM but ate the buffet (average) and took him to the theme park that used to be way in the back of the property. Fast forward to today, the dad is out of the picture but my son and I go to Vegas together once a year and just got back. I remember telling you in a previous comment that we were staying at the Flamingo as we often do. This year we got a 24-hour monorail pass and found it very useful for going down to the Sahara for the first time, as well as taking it to MGM. Would you believe we've never gambled there before? We got good drink service. Nellie's Kitchen is so close to the monorail stop and it has been penciled in on our list. We both enjoy the Jonas Brothers' music. Were they playing their songs inside the casino? Another question and I don't know if you'll remember since this trip was several months ago, but could you estimate how long the walk would be from the monorail stop to the elevator bank on the first floor going up to your room?

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  3 месяца назад

      We’re glad to hear you guys enjoyed the video!
      As far as the musics goes, I gotta be honest, I’m not sure if I would recognize a Jonas Brothers song if I heard it. In the casino itself, I remember a wide variety of different music from all genres and decades. They kept a really fun vibe to it.
      I do recall the music inside Nellie’s feeling very country and southern, but I could also be wrong on that as I was absolutely exhausted by this point in the day.
      In regard to the distance between the monorail to the room elevators, i would say it is a bit of a walk. MGM grand is so huge. If I had to compare, I would say that it would be like walking from The Cromwell to the Linq Promenade. Perhaps about a 10 minute walk from the point of getting off the monorail to reaching the elevators. Not terrible, but long enough that if you have mobility issues it could be tiring by the end.
      Thanks for taking the time to leave us a comment! We really appreciate it!

      There are definitely some high end dining options at MGM Grand which is why when we mentioned the dining that NYNY being across the street is definitely a viable option if you’re looking for more budget friendly options as the food court at MGM is admittedly basic and definitely not the Greenwich Eateries which have a lot of better options at reasonable price ranges.

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  17 дней назад

      Hi, Paul here.
      Thanks for the feedback and comment.
      If it’s just this particular video, there’s a reason for that. This one was filmed on our very last day of a multi day trip and I delegated James to lead a majority of it because I honestly felt exhausted beyond exhausted and was trying my hardest to be “on” for the camera.
      If it’s some of the other videos, I have to also be honest that as a team James and I work within each others strengths and he usually has a stronger on camera presence so I work with that and will often ask him (or delegate him) to be more on camera. Also during food videos he is a lot stronger at describing food than I am so when I am in the editing process I love to keep a lot of his description in. Whereas when I am describing something, I will often try to keep the best highlights because we have two different brain styles so often there’s a difference in how we both describe things. But he can break down a taste to its elements far stronger than I can so it’s not uncommon for me to have him rate the more complex dish. Off camera we do split everything we show. But I will often ask him to take charge of the more complex items.
      My strengths are more aligned with having a steadier hand with the camera, editing (I solely edit all of our videos), and a lot of the back end stuff that keeps the channel going. James’ strengths align more with the on screen presence, idea generation, research of places to cover, and he has been recently doing our thumbnails as of the last few videos.
      I am very sorry if the videos come across as him monopolizing the video but from my perspective, I try to leverage his stronger areas by delegating him to lead most intros and transition segments.
      (Also… I am usually the steadier hand so before we upgraded our camera to one that includes an in camera gimbal - It was much easier for me to be behind the camera for things like room tours and filming him for transition segments). Plus he is much better at remembering the talking points and/or stronger at leading those transitions. Because when I do it we often have to reshoot it multiple times 😵‍💫
      Thanks for watching and for the feedback. We constantly do take that feedback and try our best to adjust it when we take a new trip to film more episodes.

    we tried the pizza at Lucini's last time we were at MGM, those NY slices are good, but completely agree on the crust. Wish it had been a tad crispier, but still foldable. My mom has been wanting to try Nellie's, so we might have to add that to the agenda when we go to AEW Double or Nothing in a couple weeks.
    Pro Tip: go to the ABC store closest to you and grab a couple drinks there to bring with you into the casinos. They have bottled water for 2 for $2! Whenever we go to events at TMobile Arena we dash across the street to the ABC store next to MGM and grab drinks then go back and get food at NYNY, saves a TON of money

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  3 месяца назад +2

      Oh god yes… ABC Stores and the CVS all the way.
      The thing about that Coca Cola bottle… we literally didn’t think about it until we saw the price on the receipt halfway through filming that pizza review and it was a genuine shock 😳
      We understand Vegas is adult Disneyland but $8 is way more than Disney prices for that same bottle.
      Yeah the NY slice was good, but the more expensive Sicilian was just not good… I was expecting more in line with PizzaCake or Pizza Rock’s Sicilian and it let me down LOL
      Thanks for watching ❤️

    Pardon my language...but F@@K YEAH!!!
    I've been waiting for this...lol
    We stated at MGM a year ago and fell in love with it. Did the Stay Well room (didn't notice a big difference) and rented a pool day bed. Absolutely worth the price. Get one by the lazy river. Spent the entire day there.
    And you both are right; there's no way to do it all in just 24 hours. We were there 3 days and still didn't get to do what we wanted. Lol.
    I found it to be a very comfortable mid to almost high end experience. I feel like it beats Caesar's in a lot of ways. Not the buffet tho. Lol Even with the MyVegas rewards, it was just...ok. might not go back again. Cest la vie.
    So much in fact, we will be there in two weeks!! Lol.
    Another great video and post, fellas. Keep em coming.

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  3 месяца назад

      Yeah the buffet was “just ok” - and I know that it serves a more budget minded demographic but I do feel they need to be a bit more in line with upping the quality. But for what it was, it serves a purpose.
      But even though our stay was just 24 hours there… I want more.
      We had our first taste of MGM and I feel like this stay best out our stay at Caesars Palace. And they did it without the jetted tub in the room (I am sure they have those as well but we went with booking a regular King).
      I do want to revisit this property when the pool complex is open because I feel like we could spend so much time there (and likely making that its own video).
      Thanks for watching and we are glad you enjoyed ❤️

    I have to agree with you on the pricing. The coke is a total ripoff. And besides it’s not healthy. Don’t waste your calories on sugar sodas. The pizza looked overpriced and underwhelming as well. But that cake looked great. Had a similar one at a restaurant by us. I love the almond paste. Anyway love you guys. Great video

      We often avoid sugared sodas at home. But on a vacation where the options are a bit limited it’s so easy to rush for that bottle of soda. But looking at the receipt and seeing that $8 was a bit of a shock.
      The New York style pizza was “ok” (though the Sicilian felt like that square school pizza) but I feel like they were going for a “concept” rather than trying to execute on the best pizza - Case in point for a similar price, I could get that amazing slice at Miami Slice and while Lucini wasn’t “bad” it was more or less “just ok”.

    $8 for a bottle of Coke is offensive. I guess my question to you is why did you buy it? Out of principle I wouldn't buy it since you're just encouraging them to keep it at that price point. Great videos - keep them coming!

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  Месяц назад +1

      Admittedly we didn’t notice until we saw the price on the receipt.
      Between that MGM stay being our last day (day 5 of a very long trip), neglecting to see the price posted up on the wall (we found that out on this last trip when we filmed a different segment at Lucini that the price was listed on the wall the whole time), and then originally them forgetting to give us the bottle of Coke we paid for and having to go back to the receipt to see that it was $8 and then having to go back to the slice counter to get them to give us the $8 bottle we paid for. By that point I wasn’t going to fight them on the price. I just wanted the bottle of soda we paid for.
      It was a situation where we were like, “Wait… did we really just pay $8 for that? And did they forget to even give us that $8 bottle of coke?”
      It was one of those situations where in an end of trip haze we were on autopilot and ordered two slices and a bottle of soda not thinking of the price and not noticing until we later noticed they forgot to even give us the soda 😮
      So that’s the “behind the scenes” story to that $8 bottle of soda.
      We even joked with the same lady on this most recent trip when we came back to film Lucini again for another video (5 more Pizza part 3) and we had a collective laugh together when we declined the $8 bottle of soda.

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  3 месяца назад +1

      The 2 for 1 on the buffet was from the MyVegas mobile games apps (no we do not have a brand deal with them - We just play it) - But you can redeem up to three rewards with it per 30 day period.
      While the room nights rewards can be hit or miss and have a lot of red tape to book them, some of the smaller ones like the BOGO cocktails, BOGO buffets, and BOGO entrees at select restaurants can be worth it.
      We also get room night comps from the loyalty programs at MGM and Caesars (you do have to spend and gamble for those and we are by no means high level players, in fact very much low rollers, but we will take what we can and maximize on what we can)
      Our upcoming May trip will have room comps at both Caesars and MGM (Excalibur and Planet Hollywood), and then we also maximize on the airline and reward/tier credits which equals more spending money at the respective resorts.
      So long story short, we maximize the comps and then spend spend spend and at the end of the day the casinos will make it all back and then some, but every little bit helps.
