    I'm a housekeeping manager for a casino on the strip. On the topic of tipping, specifically for Housekeeping. If you can't leave a monetary tip, leaving a *sealed* Gatorade/energy drink/water when you are checking out in the room is also a good tip for your room attendant. The men and women who keep our hotel rooms clean work a very physically demanding job, and little things like this can really help.

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  Месяц назад

      OMG that’s a great idea and one we will definitely consider for our next visit in addition to the monetary tip ❤️
      Thank you so much for this advice. And also thank you so much for the hard work you and your team do ❤️
      As someone who works in the hospitality industry in my off RUclips day job, housekeeping is essential to any property and you all do amazing things to keep the rooms up for guests.
      Thank you again for that feedback and advice for anyone reading this comment ❤️ (and we hope you enjoyed the video)

    I’ve noticed that over the years, cocktail servers take a very long time while playing slots. Most of them won’t even serve 2 drinks at a time. Although I’m a loyal MGM member, I find that Caesar’s Palace have the best service and many waiters/waitresses working at any given time.
    Great review guys!

      Now that you mention it, I would say I’ve definitely had better complimentary cocktail service at Caesars than at MGM.

    Hi you two, as usual, a great addition to the channel! One question regarding tipping, what is appropriate for the housekeeping staff who service our hotel room? We are staying at the Flamingo in May and I would like to ensure my appreciation for their tireless work is respectful and appropriate.
    I absolutely agree that the best way to enjoy Vegas is to have the right mindset, be respectful and mindful of the work that staff do in order for us to indulge in our vacation dreams and experiences.
    Many thanks for all the help getting us Vegas ready!!

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  4 месяца назад

      We generally recommend about $3 to $5 per day on days that we have the housekeeping clean the room (such as when we remove the DND sign from the room). One thing we do also want to specify is when leaving your tip to place it somewhere where the housekeeping can know that it’s a tip and not just change or extra money left on the nightstand or counter.
      Sometimes we will place it on the bed for when they make it so the staff knows it’s a tip or we will write a note specifying that the amount is a tip. Some properties and cruises may also leave an envelope in the room for this purpose but places that don’t, it’s best to make sure that your tip is notified that it’s a tip.
      Also… we hope you have a great stay at the Flamingo and if you haven’t yet caught our review on it, we have a full review up on the channel about our stay there ❤️ - Thanks for watching and for the comments.

      Love how you shout out individual employees for their service and willingness to help!

    While taxis may be useful from the airport to the hotel, do NOT use taxis on the strip.Lift or Uber is usually drastically cheaper, more convenient, and quicker

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  4 месяца назад +2

      Yaaasss!… We never use a taxi on the strip. Rideshare all the way. That is much much cheaper.
      But we do love the flat rate at the airport to our hotel especially because they no longer are allowed to tunnel you and because of those shady tactics cabs used in the past there’s now a flat rate. Which is overall just more convenient for getting in, but… ride shares everywhere else will always save a lot more money ❤️

      We have a lot of it down to a science as far as how to navigate the strip. But when we do a “We tried X number of ____ in Vegas” type of video we always plan that route specifically to utilize the trams/monorails/rideshares/etc just because of how far it is from place to place.

    good tips, super glad you mentioned the scammy performers, they're so aggressive sometimes! And watch out for the people who try to hand you a sample at the "beauty" stores, they're also a scam to get you inside and hustle you with overpriced junk. Treasure Island is one of the only ones with free parking on the strip (that’s always subject to change as it seems that when one property removes something the others always follow suit but Treasure Island is one of the only ones with 3:2 Blackjack on the strip so they probably are just trying to be more guest focused with both of those perks), but if you have Platinum or higher with Caesars you can get free parking at their properties or if you have Pearl or higher with MGM you can also get free parking with their properties.
