But in reality, we as the audience literally have zero idea of what the jean jacket girl went through plus how that might have affected her friend. This hits very close to home because my ex best friend was going through a hard time, but in that process, literally put me through hell and used me as an emotional punching bag. Would text me once every week or two saying that he was going to end his life and when I immediately called or texted him back... no response. I would be left on silent for days and me living in a city far away, I would have to call his MOTHER to check on him. Turns out, he never made any attempts and did that to me on purpose. I am not saying I wanted him to actually back up those texts with real attempts, but I was the one who received those messages any time he had su1cidal thoughts. He never listened to me or my feelings and we no longer could have normal moments of being friends as I became his therapist. Except that he would never want my help so it was just a very strange situation... Anyways, I had to set my boundaries and eventually cut him off from my life due to the anxiety disorder that I was developing. At every waking moment, all I could think about was if my best friend was dead or not. It was horrible. I am sorry I overshared but, in reality we just have no idea what their situation was...

I wish people understood how much friendships mean. Romantic Relationships come and go so quickly but a good friend will stick with you through them all. My friends never put me as high on their list as I put them but I just can’t help it because the feeling of shared girlhood and friendship makes my heart full. I want to do this with my ex-best friend just to have some closure and hear her side of the story. Maturing made me realize that maybe it wasn't 100% her fault. We had a falling out because I was at my lowest mental health wise and I was deep in my anorexia and other harmful behaviors. It was hard for her to see me like that almost every day and I can see that now.

In my case I caught feelings with a friend and ended our friendship, but even if I moved on a year after, i still felt sad because of the way I ended the friendship. So five years later I talked to him again and told him everything, and that was the best thing I could've done. We're in really good terms now.

He never calls me or texts me first yet, little things he does make me know hes trying his best while society may be like "kick him to the curb". But to get to the point where Jean Jacket Girl is calling her her best friend, she's definitely leading her on to some degree, even if it's just to be nice. I’m 17 and have learned my lesson the hard way. If you feel someone is blocking you from being your best self, you have the right to cut them off and protect your energy. We have an intuition for a reason, listen to it. Wish i could do this with my ex best friend. We met in kinderkarten and was best friends until we were around 17. She was basically like a sister and my mom treated her like her own. We spent so much time together and she was basically the only friend i had for most of my life. We went on so many adventures together and she stayed at my place almost every weekend. We had so many plans for when we were done with school. But when i was 16-17 something traumatic happened to me which made me stay home from school a lot, when i needed her the most she went and got new friends and we stopped talking. I quit school and i havent seen or talked to her since. We are turning 25 this year.. I still miss her so much. I havent had a friend since we stopped talking and i have basically wasted my youth with sitting alone at home being depressed instead of doing all the things we said that we were going to do together, ive seen her on social media do the things we were going to do but with her new friends. Breaks my heart every single time

But in reality, we as the audience literally have zero idea of what the jean jacket girl went through plus how that might have affected her friend. This hits very close to home because my ex best friend was going through a hard time, but in that process, literally put me through hell and used me as an emotional punching bag. Would text me once every week or two saying that he was going to end his life and when I immediately called or texted him back... no response. I would be left on silent for days and me living in a city far away, I would have to call his MOTHER to check on him. Turns out, he never made any attempts and did that to me on purpose. I am not saying I wanted him to actually back up those texts with real attempts, but I was the one who received those messages any time he had su1cidal thoughts. He never listened to me or my feelings and we no longer could have normal moments of being friends as I became his therapist. Except that he would never want my help so it was just a very strange situation... Anyways, I had to set my boundaries and eventually cut him off from my life due to the anxiety disorder that I was developing. At every waking moment, all I could think about was if my best friend was dead or not. It was horrible. I am sorry I overshared but, in reality we just have no idea what their situation was...

I wish people understood how much friendships mean. Romantic Relationships come and go so quickly but a good friend will stick with you through them all. My friends never put me as high on their list as I put them but I just can’t help it because the feeling of shared girlhood and friendship makes my heart full. Truly I hope these people can mice on and find real friends no matter who that’s with.
I want to do this with my ex-best friend just to have some closure and hear her side of the story. Maturing made me realize that maybe it wasn't 100% her fault. We had a falling out because I was at my lowest mental health wise and I was deep in my anorexia and other harmful behaviors. It was hard for her to see me like that almost every day and I can see that now.

Agreed. However its up to us to know what their 100% is. I have a extremely introverted and avoidant friend who I always have to reach out to. He never calls me or texts me first yet, little things he does make me know hes trying his best while society may be like "kick him to the curb". I’m 17 and have learned my lesson the hard way. If you feel someone is blocking you from being your best self, you have the right to cut them off and protect your energy. We have an intuition for a reason, listen to it. The pair with the boy and the girl in the white crop-top, if a friendship does end because of something like that, he in this case isn’t interested in you the same way. If they really want to, they’ll find a way. You don’t need someone who gaslights you, that isn’t a friend. You don’t need someone who dismisses your thoughts and feelings in an “argument”. He’s not good for you, baby girl can do so much better.

Wish i could do this with my ex best friend. We met in kinderkarten and was best friends until we were around 17. She was basically like a sister and my mom treated her like her own. We spent so much time together and she was basically the only friend i had for most of my life. We went on so many adventures together and she stayed at my place almost every weekend. We had so many plans for when we were done with school. But when i was 16-17 something traumatic happened to me which made me stay home from school a lot, when i needed her the most she went and got new friends and we stopped talking. I quit school and i havent seen or talked to her since. We are turning 25 this year.. I still miss her so much. I havent had a friend since we stopped talking and i have basically wasted my youth with sitting alone at home being depressed instead of doing all the things we said that we were going to do together, ive seen her on social media do the things we were going to do but with her new friends. Breaks my heart every single time

Def never to late to reach out, my best friend and I have had so many falling outs throughout high school and early 20’s we’re almost 30 now and still best friends, we always were able to make up and figure things out in the end and I truly can’t imagine my life without her in it.

If I brought my ex friends to this I’d probably hear the same answers. So many of my friends just dropped me for no reason even though I always tried to be there for them. No text backs. Makes no sense. We’re all on our phones. It’s telling of the kind of person they are and what they think of you. It sucks but I don’t deserve to be led on by people like that.

I had a horrible ending with my best friend of fourteen years almost seven years ago and I still think about it. I still don’t fully understand what happened and I still have a ton of contradictory feelings about her. I have no idea how it would go if I sat down with her like this. A big part of me wants to lay all the cards out on the table but I’ve spent so much time trying to move forward that it might just rip the scars wide open again. Just a shitty situation all around.

My ex bestfriend got a gf and ignored me many times. I didn't mind it much. But when i was like in pain from something he didn't even ask me a "are you fine? ". I had no friends except him yet i stopped talking because my self respect comes first. He said it was because his gf said so not to talk with me. He apologized and i forgave him. But irony is after some months his gf dumped him miserably. He was out of town with no one by his side. He was heart broken and had started smoking. He called me and unburdended himself. I listened to him thoroughly and calmed him. He then thanked me saying that only i was his true friend which dumb me believed. Now that he has got a new gf he didn't even wish me a happy birthday. And now he says "are you angry? ". Although i would not say he's bad as a person but not a good friend. I didn't want to waste my precious time so now i am ignoring him.
