tera shell makes you resist whatever move hits you regardless of type when at full health. multi-scale makes you take half damage at full health, but type matchups still affect the damage. ex: at full health, tera shell terapagos will resist a hit from close combat; but if it had multi-scale, it would take normal damage from close combat instead of 2x damage. tera shell is better for pure defense, but multi-scale works better if you want to use a weakness policy

@@clumpofblankets165 yeah, I didn’t say it doesn’t get the stellar boost, just that it loses STAB, which is really unintuitive considering the only other move that works that way is stellar tera blast, and for some reason the boost is permanent instead of single use only on terapagos. It’s not as relevant in singles but the fact that it loses STAB and becomes a spread move means that it goes from a 120 bp normal move with STAB that’s 180 bp to a 102 effective bp move counting the stellar boost, significantly less than a comparable 120 bp spread move that gets STAB like astral barrage or glacial lance which end up with an effective neural power of 135 bp. It’s worth pointing out the damage trade off.
@@olafmikoaj3121 that’s not how stellar Tera works.
