You don't need to mash the directional buttons most of the time since you can simply hold the correct button to maintain your current speed. That said, you'll need to mash to get up to speed or change direction as well as to glide farther off a springboard.
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY Yeah, that springboard is a real killer. I'm not sure how you've played this game, but I know in _Pac-Man Museum +_ that you can opt to map your jump to the stick or D-pad and your run to the face buttons. Pretty fascinating! 👍🏻
Did you know Pac Land had inspired Super Mario Bros
Christ, that's actually kind of impressive for the Spectrum.
What I say: ruclips.net/video/Hwz7YN1AQmQ/видео.html
I'm glad you didn't forget about the PC-8001mk2SR version!
I’ve never even seen this port before in my life
Turbografx 16 is my favorite game, i'm pulling the first hydra and blue hat appeared.
If i'm playing Pac-Man 2 on SNES, it Will be gonna be easy
I had a NEC PC-8001mk2SR and this "Shift keys-breaking" game (5-inch FD edition).
Shizuku Osaka and Kasumi Nakasu ever beaten PacLand in its Namco Museum Volume 4 version. Shizuku got much higher score. 786090pts.
True.😊
i like how this is the first game to ever use a variable walking speed so to do this they probably used control sticks instead of joysticks
There was no joystick. Just a left run and right run button. (and jumps) The faster you tap them, the faster you run
@@RyBenn828 oof; i bet people's hands got tired of mashing the run buttons after they make it to fairy land for the first time
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY Now that I've actually played this game, I can say its controls aren't bad-just different from what most platformers use today. You don't need to mash the directional buttons most of the time since you can simply hold the correct button to maintain your current speed. That said, you'll need to mash to get up to speed or change direction as well as to glide farther off a springboard.
@@reillywalker195 yeah. the furthest i have gotten is the springboard in trip 1
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY Yeah, that springboard is a real killer. I'm not sure how you've played this game, but I know in _Pac-Man Museum +_ that you can opt to map your jump to the stick or D-pad and your run to the face buttons. Doing that made the springboard sections easier for me, so much so that I've gotten as far as the start of Trip 4.
X68000, Psx and PC Engine are pretty good.Amiga hardware wise could have done much much better (jerky scrolling)
if the Amiga port (version) wasn’t a lazy Atari ST remake yes
The Amiga version could have been as good as the arcade if they hadn't have done a crappy ST port... theres no excuse for slow shakey scrolling when the blitter could do it without breaking a sweat, especially as something as simple as that game.
TurboGrafx-16 is the most Arcade-Accurate port we might eventually get (it also had an ending after 32 rounds wth)
1. X68000
2. Atari Lynx
3. TurboGrafx
I met one of the guys who developed the Amiga version a couple of years back. He was stacking shelves in Tesco.
i have played pac-land in pac-man museum + and i see what the break time signs are for now: they serve to give your finger a break from pressing the run button repeatedly and stop you from getting carpal tunnel syndrome
You do know you can tap till u get max speed then hold the button right?
no X(
NES version’s background looks like it was made in MS paint💀
I always watch the arcade original footage first and then jump straight to the ZX Spectrum and then Amstrad CPC just to see the biggest difference.
Lol me too. It's like I like to Bully zx spectrum ports
It has color on amstrad
Gran vídeo y curioso que la versión para Spectrum tenga la música original y con mejor sonido que máquinas superiores
3:38 PAC man: welcome to the city
My RetroPie had the PC Engine and Atari Lynx Versions on it.
And the 3 worst versions of Pac-Land are:
3: NES 2:02
2: ZX Spectrum 9:10
1: MSX 10:39
Yea
By FAR
zx spectrum doesnt look bad
Wow, I've never seen the X68000 version! This is the best version obviously. I grew up with the C64 version though and love it!
i love the TurboGrafx-16 music
Pac-Land. AKA that one scrolling stage in Smash Bros.
Other console ports are based on the Japanese version of the arcade game
Arcade (US): the one we like 10/10
Arcade (JP): like the US version, but pac's nose is bigger 10/10
Nes: the graphics are a bit bad, but the music is good. Btw, where is pac's nose? 7/10
Nec pc 8001: all the sprites are ok except for the road, it makes my eyes burn!
Btw decent music for this computer 6/10
C64: good graphics and music for the commodore 64. 8/10
Amstard CPC: game is slow and starts getting slower if more than 1 ghost is on the screen. Also because of the limits of the computer, it does not have sidescrolling 5/10
Amiga: good music in start, but this game is underwhelming for what can the amiga do, and the music is slow. 5.5/10
Atari st: similar to the amiga, but chiptune music. Better than amiga since it is not underwhelming 7/10
TurboGrafx 16: it is like the original arcade one! 9/10
Zx spectrum: good old speccy. only yellow, blue and black. But the music is like the amstard one and like the CPC, it does not have sidescrolling. Good for the speccy 6/10
MSX: like the speccy, but the music is faster and the yellow is more white!
6.25/10
Atari lynx: good for a portable system at the time. 7/10
Sharp x68000 like the arcade version 9/10
Psx: same as arcade! 10/10
Thanks for your review!

Love the amiga tune!
It was good to know that there was an atari st version as well sothat it could compeat against nintendo’s own platformer on the nes, eventrough the st was a computer but it could serve as a game console as well.
A Hanna Barbera's animation into a video game!
Arcade (USA/Midway): WHOA WHOA WHOA, the speed! *inserts voices* *Faster* ! *Faster* ! *of Pac-Man 2*
Arcade (JP/Namco): Pac-Man eyes are correct, speed okay, Ms. Pac-Man and Baby Pac-Man it's okay!
Nes: No way, 8-Bit, NO! Paint/Adobe Flash Mode!
NEC PC-8001mkll SR: Glitched graphics, not smooth scroll, and CRT filter.
Commodore 64: Decent conversion, it's okay with his limitations.
Amstrad CPC: Literally the same as Commodore 64, but not scroll and some changes in the colors.
Amiga: *WHY THIS IS WORST THAN COMMODORE 64* ?!?!
Atari ST: Literally the same as Amiga, but, better music!
TG16/PC Engine: Now you can call this an port! And, an Expert/Pro mode when the game is completed!
ZX Spectrum (128K): Literally the same as Amstrad CPC, but worse colors and decent music.
MSX: Literally the same as ZX Spectrum, with correct BPM music.
Atari Lynx: An decent conversion, with good colors and music!
Sharp X68000: Again, YOU can call this an port!
Playstation: Literally the same as Arcade but the nose is, cutted?
My favorites: Arcade, TG16/PC Engine, Sharp X68000 and PS1
Worker: This game clearly won't work on the system!
Owner: *I can make it work*
DOOOH! I MUST HAVE THOSE POWER PELLETS! GO FINDE THE POWER PELLET FOREST!
My Favorite Is Sharp X68000
I remember playing it on the ganeboy color along with classic pac man and ms pac man but i like the game color versions and still have it
Ah yes my favorite nes publisher namcot
9:24 what the
The Amiga version sounds like the Overthere theme from Super Paper Mario
i doubt the Amiga version would or wouldn’t
sound that bad if it wasn’t an Atari ST remake
my favorite version is the zx spectrum
15:23 for some reason my ears liked this part
Same
Turbo-Grafx 16 is one of the better ports, as expected. But, so is Atari Lynx which is weird.
Atari Lynx had a number of good arcade ports Double Dragon, Hard Drivin, Hydra, Klax, Ninja Gaiden aka Shadow Warriors, Paperboy, Raiden, Rampage, Rampart, Road Blasters, Rygar, S.T.U.N. Runner, Super Off Road, Toki, Xybots why would it be weird to expect a better port of Pac-Land on the Atari Lynx?
the Amiga version of the pacland theme literally sounds like an escape theme.
4:40 pal version
I didn't know there was an arcade version.
It’s Pac-Man how could you not
@@Nic_2751 Tyler might’ve been born in the late 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s, 2010’s after the arcade game release in 1984
QU: Vượt Thời Đại - Guntap!!!!
The jp version of the arcade version is better due to it changing Pac-Mans eyes from the human like ones to the more traditional pie eyes
Pac-Man looks so good and refined with his pie eyes. The human eyes have seen better days!
