I think they should do a PacMan revival, with this character design, and make it a open world game with PacMan having a combat system and being able to roll down slopes and gain seed while being vulnerable.

He just so happened to own the Pac Man Collection and handed it down to me, and I took a severe liking to Pac Mania, which in my opinion, works with a screen crunch, not to mention how close it emulates the arcade version, which also allows for me to replay it on websites like arcadespot for all of time since THEY don't use Flash.
Same, I had that pac man collection on my GBA too. I really loved that one pac-man game where at the end you have to defeat the giant mech ghost by shooting all the pellets in the maze at it
@@RandomUser8P That sounds like Pac-Arrangement. Why don't you give it a try on Arcadespot? It's a real treat and potentially a massive throwback to BOTH our childhoods. I'll even give you the link! arcadespot.com/game/pac-man-collection/
@@jakeinator2005 Yep! That’s the one! I loved this game collection, sadly I don’t have it anymore despite still having my SP and most of the other games I grew up with
@@RandomUser8P I dont have it either however like I said: browser emulation. I'm reliving my childhood with it.
The best versions were of course the Amiga and Arcade versions (both begin with "A" as well, for Awesome, Asthetically Pleasing to Play, and Always Great Graphically)
Archimedes version is the better one
@@igordantasneres6103 The Archie version graphically and sonically is great. The only thing that lets it down is that the volume of the music doesn;t go down when you eat a power pill. This is an essential part of the game as it means you can tell when the power pill runs out even if you can't see the ghosts as the volume comes back up. Not having that hurts the game a little but if they fixed that I would agree it would be pretty damn perfect. As it is its a fantastic version.
Actually, I never knew that Pac-Mania was an arcade game, I always thought it was an original game for the NES. The only reason I ever bought it was because it is about PAC-MAN.
Arcade, PlayStation, Genesis/MegaDrive, PS2, X360, Windows, PS3, GCN:Yeah! Flight versions is cool!
Ghost: ⭐@#O!!W*🔺
Q*Bert: Hey! That's my line!
The MSX2 version is nostalgic for me and also i like the simple graphics, that makes it cuter imo, so i pick that one as my favourite.
The pac-mania arcade has outstanding graphics for 1987
I used to play the hell out of the J2ME version back in 2007. Same for that port of Popeye.
Awesome!!😊
@@setsers1 oh yeah, and the mobile phone port of Popeye was amazing. Not only was it extremely faithful to the original Nintendo arcade game, but the "Special" mode was where it was at.
This mode had updated graphics, a new stage or two, and even bonus levels. Plus, play sessions earned you tokens which could be used to actually get comic strips to enjoy (though you'd still get charged for the downloads). A truly comprehensive port.
I had the Master System version and I remember it as one of the most entertaining games I had. Good video!
The Sharp X68000 version seemed like it copied the arcade version of PAC-MANIA. It’s really odd to me. And the ZX Spectrum, it didn’t have any music, it just had a click-like chomp sound. It might have seen to be a weird version. Amstrad CPC, that one was honestly pretty bad, because the display was only turquoise and black. But anyway, this is an interesting video. Thanks!
The Arcade, Sharp X68,000, PlayStation 1-3, Xbox and Xbox 360 are all my favorite.
Original arcade
Wow i never noticed of all this version i only play the Sega Genesis version
J2ME was a powerful platform, but why was the sound so poor, even on the most advanced phones? No game was able to play more than 1 souns simultaneously, even the advanced 3D games
It uses midi,thats why
@@gunma747j so what? Isn't it possible to leave one midi channel for the game sounds to be played?
@@InsidiousOne probably can't,most J2ME games didn't features simultaneously bgm&sfx playback or just lacks sfx
Ah yes, so im south amerincan (bolivia, cochabamba) and we have a movie theater called cine center (which is really big and the best one in cochabamba), so they had an arcade zone, they had pac-mania, man, meanwhile my cousins, my sisters (which all have higher age than me) so the 3 were playing teken (which its machine is near the pac-mania one) so i played pac-mania, man i couldnt, literally level 2 and 6 ghosts, level 3 and 8 ghosts, there was a point where jumping did not help
It didnt have map select, so i played from start always
GBA port’s music loop is shorter than my sanity
YAY i was waiting for this one!
You should have played the 128k version of the ZX Spectrum port as it has music.
0:01 Arcade
1:26 ZX Spectrum
3:13 Commodore 64
4:25 Amstrad CPC
7:13 MSX
The maze reminds me of lego
Nothing to say... Sharp x68000 had the best coin-op conversions
If you want to hear the music of this on the ZX Spectrum then I suggest that you all change the machine type from ZX Spectrum 48K all the way to ZX Spectrum 128K for music because the MSX Version together sounds just the same and it’s two of the best versions along with the Arcade, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64
i like the arcade, genesis, nes, playstation, game boy advance, playstatiuon 2/xbox/gamecube (2001/2002/2005) & playstation 3/xbox 360/windows (2014) versions the best.
9:39 Amiga
11:47 Atari ST
13:40 MSX2
15:36 Sharp X68000
First played on the Master System and next on Mega Drive, this game gives me nostalgia each time i play it :)
By the way nice video, keep it up!
Mega Drive was Japan only wasn't it? Actually forget that because it says genesis doesn't it.
@@bangerbangerbro no, it is also in Europe regions
@@Toymaric Yes I must have been thinking of the New Zealand story and maybe 1 other game. I edited my comment after realising it says genesis on the title screen and so must have had an American release and probably a full western release also.
Boy cigar really just to go
WOW THIS IS THE FIRST POWERFUL NES GAME!!!
The worst version of Pac-Mania is the GBA (Game Boy Advance) version, which was part of the Pac-Man Collection compilation cartridge because the GBA version of Pac-Mania will not save your high scores and enter your initials.
No the worst version is everything else except arcade, gba, sharp x68000, nes, and PlayStation
i mean, you’ve gotta consider that it’s an early gba game
That guy is hungry even if his tummy rumbles very loud.
15:36 COOL BANGING PAC-MAN MUSIC NO *CLICK*-_BAIT_
Im still wondering why they chose lego type things as the map
0:05 i can hear pac-man moving and eating the pellets left to right on my earphones. Amazing 😀
7:33 why does this sound like if PAC-MANIA got on Neo Geo Pocket Color?
Damn the arcade version graphic look like it’s from 2000s despite coming from 1987
О, я тоже проходил Пакмана, но только на Денди. И еще у меня есть гейм плей игры Pacman Doodle от гугла)
2020 is almost done, and I still don't know why only the Genesis version has the Pac booster.
Because of its style, it’s the best. 🤙🏽
30:00 this is the version I got but on a real arcade
the best part of this game is
the music
no these are the best graphics of a pacman arcade game
@@nicthecat and that
Nobody:
Cars when they turn on: 2:06
Edit:How they do with the radio on: 8:02
The Genesis version is unironically the best when it comes to the music
I really liked the C64 conversion. NES is pretty cool as well. Odd to see the MSX2 version being so choppy. I expected more of something made in-house (or was it?), especially next to the Speccy...
My Favorite Version NES
I think they should do a PacMan revival, with this character design, and make it a open world game with PacMan having a combat system and being able to roll down slopes and gain seed while being vulnerable.
So just Sonic Frontiers?
The Atari STe and Falcon versions weren't included. They were modern, hobbyist ports, but they are quite good. The Falcon port is sadly unfinished, though.
Amiga and new AmigaOS4, the best! 💪 😎👍
Everyone forgets about the version on Namco Museum Remix/Megamix
