Similar to Lord X and MX actually. To give themselves more fun and somewhat a challenge, they follow the rules of the game, but change them up slightly.
@Craig McIntosh probably the best part of this creepypasta is the fact that the monster plays by the rules. I've seen far too many horror genre type stories/movies/etc. basically ignore the fact that the monster is still inside a game and has to follow its rules.
I like seeing that you can trick Q*Bert into jumping off the edge. Imagine surviving a supernatural monstrosity haunting a cursed machine from decades ago because it had a skill issue

This gives me HARDCORE NES Godzilla creepypasta vibes, turning the gameplay of q*Bert into a survival horror platformer is genius and having the tension and stress of knowing he will eventually appear and that you have a limited time to hide or run is amazing
The focus on gameplay and the lack of jump scares or incessant fourth wall breaking is what sells it for me. If you put this in an actual arcade, I’d be inclined to believe it was real.

Guys. I have a theory. I saw a video of A guy called Gilbert he passed out next to the game and he was inside the game to haunt other people when they play the game.
It's been said lots before, but I'll go ahead and say it again - I like how this version of Q*bert isn't really a malicious or demented force like most other exes, but is instead just a sentient video game character who REALLY dislikes losing. He doesn't even seem to hold any malice towards the player at the end, instead taking out his frustrations on the snake. I just think that's kind of neat, like many others!

From the design of Q*bert's empty face to the irrelevance of the IP in the modern gaming scene, this almost has the same feel as the NES Godzilla creepypasta. Especially considering the evil Q*Bert seems to be a malefic, supernatural actor, who is still bound to the rules of the game world. He can't come out of the TV at you, and he doesn't have Hyper-realistic eyes or trap your soul or anything like that. He's just a freaky little weirdo inside a game who doesn't like to lose. I like that the narrative is fairly simple, A kid goes into an arcade, finds an old Q*bert machine in an employees only room, and plays it. It's a normal setting, and the existence of the arcade game is completely inexplicable, which I think is honestly more fun than having a character have some deep backstory about how they're this otherworldly being of great power that can warp reality and so on and so forth. There's no deeper meaning, and it doesn't need some grand plot about how this is a metaphor for the death of a person and how they got revenge on their enemies, or that there's someone trapped in the game, it's just a freaky Q*bert arcade machine with an AI who's a sore loser. That's where I feel series like Needlemouse and TMK fall off for me. They're trying to be deep and have complex storylines with scary ideas and existential horror. But then the question is, why even bother making it related to Sonic or Kirby? You can tell a just as, if not more effective story without having to rope a pre-existing property into it. In contrast to its contemporary series, Q*bert Arcade holds dear to the fact that the actual Q*bert arcade game is very much a game that is fairly barebones doesn't have much of a plot to begin with. It's not trying to be a metaphor, or an allegory, and it's not trying to give you existential dread with a gosh darn classic video game character. Needlemouse and TMK want you to take them seriously and have absolutely no fun with their ideas. Q*bert Arcade on the other hand, knows exactly what it is, and isn't going for anything grand or punching above its weightclass. I like Q*bert arcade, because it feels like a genuine thing that could exist in some twisted world. It has immersion. it's not trying to add disconnected horror to a pre-existing property, it's taking the original property, and distorting it on its own merits, without any unneeded fluff.

To say that this is amazing is very short, really, I don't know how to explain the potential and the great future that this great game has, cheer up bro, I love the idea and concept, keep it up for this promising project and your other things :D
This looks awesome! Fantastic work!
3:09 That facial expression changing makes me feel like he's saying " *YOU DAMN CHEATER YOU HIDE FROM ME AND YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME FALL OF LEDGES YOU DAMN SMITH* "
He didn’t care about the fact that the player was playing the game he just got triggered by the fact that they kept losing true chad
Virgin sonic.exe vs chad q-bert
i'm not really that much of a creepypasta fan, but hats off to this one!
this is one of the creepypastas that doesn't follow the "I'm EVIL and i will KILL you and ABUSE you!!!!!" and the first one i saw in many months.
i love how q*bert actually has an feel of dread instead of repetitiveness, and he actually doesn't cheat his way to the player, instead he has a bit of a skill issue when trying to follow you, i'm really interested for people to give this creepypasta a shot, you've done a great job with this
This seems like this is what would happen if you got a pirated version. Awesome video!
its kind of funny that when he cant find you he just ends it all
Qbert looks like Red from Godzilla creepypasta
It's good to know that Q*bert is finally getting more attention inside of RUclips.
For some reason, I thought this video was showing off an earlier version of an arcade demo of Q*Bert. It wasn't until I saw Coily hide in those boxes until a rather confusing/unsettling moment came through my body.
Good work!
Looks super good. Adds intrigue and is super polished unlike many other exe games.
3:11 this rember a the nes Godzilla
Q*Bert’s face is mine after I lose 30 ranked games in a row
2:37 looks like a skull…
Well duh
@@fort179 bro, barely anyone knows it’s a skull, you don’t have to be mean.
No shit Sherlock
@@PJShorts2015it’s so obvious, what do you mean barely everyone knows?
It is
3:15 Can we appreciate how smooth the animation here is
i like how compared to other exes, this qbert demon not only shows emotion, but he also doesnt cheat.
Kind of a breath of fresh air really
This is really cool omg (Also it’s amazing to see Coily get a starring role)
I think you were meant to hide in the hollow boxes when Qbert cane, judging by the thumbnail
I am the dev of the game and yes you can either hide in some of the blocks or let him chase you. It's fine either way as long as you don't get caught. :)
@@BigBlueAxolotl Ayo, thnx for the tip, Efe
@@BigBlueAxolotl I like it
@@BigBlueAxolotl saw this exact same comment on luigikids vid lol
@@BigBlueAxolotl when q*bert comes u should make it so the player number becomes "player 2"
that q*bert design is fucking unsettling. Great job on this whole thing.
1:55 look like a skull
Because it is
never noticed that
That ending was so incredibly smooth, oh my god,,
The most strange thing is that the creator of this video sayed Coilin isnt dead wha-
..Olum,bu çok iyi lan
Özelliklede son.O animasyon çok iyiydi
Unlike other Creepypasta villain, H*Bert plays by the rule and only turned aggressive after his repeated losses.
