Some of these were a real pain to find and/or get working. Let me know if you want to play any of them and I can make instructions for how to play them.
Any info about the Galaxy Games rom and if the rom would work on RetroArch by any chance? (The co-op part looked really interesting so I wanted to see if I could get Netplay working for it) Thanks in advance!
@@LBP-Seramop The name of it is galgame2 and it works on mame. That's all I really know. Yeah I wonder how fun it would be playing with someone else, I just controlled both myself for the video.
@@philive1681 Welp, just tried it for myself. It at least works (On MAME 2010 (on RetroArch, no other version of MAME can run the game it seems)) but for some non-apparent reason the audio on my rom is sped up compared to your gameplay (maybe an issue with the rom I got or MAME 2010 (in RA) just does that to some games) The biggest downside of using it with RetroArch is that the core that’s able to run the game can’t be used with Netplay, so there goes the online co-op I was hoping to do.. T_T Thanks again for help with locating the rom to the game!!
Interesting how all the ports for Japanese platforms try to stay as close to the arcade as possible, while many Western ports are more along the lines of "interpretations"
There's actually another version not featured here; the version included in Pac-Man World 3. At first glance that version appears to be emulation, but no! It is a ground-up recreation of the arcade game. Some notable visual differences is the lack of gate in the ghost house, the orange being colored red, and the fruits having a new "popping-in" animation.
This is some real dedication for a comparison video! Most people usually just show gameplay, but you went out of your way to show us the game's sprites as well. Yes, it's a fairly basic thing, but most people don't even consider doing that.
@BIGGERSHOT127-v1w I do admit the PC-800 version is more of a scream, but it's too bitcrushed to me to sound any more terrifying. That and the PC-88 version is just a harsh screech...
6:38 This singular version has been used in the following games... Namco Museum Vol. 1 (PS1) Pac-Man World (PS1) Namco Museum 64 (N64) Namco Museum (DC) Namco Museum (Xbox, GCN, PS2) Pac-Man World 2 (Xbox, GCN, PS2, PC)
The same company who made the TI-99/4, Texas Instruments, makes calculators today and you can download pac man on some of them and play it. It goes full circle :)
This is the first time in my life I've ever seen any of the bonus fruit beyond the apple on the Apple ][ ! I had this as a kid---I think I still do, as a matter of fact!---but I've neve made it past the apple stages.
Man it's funny how the COLORS of the ghosts are sometimes very inconsistent. A green one usually replaces Inky or Clyde! I know this is probably because of how hard it is to emulate certain colors, but the ZX Spectrum... If the scared ghost is cyan and the maze shows blue with no issue, then what's the point of emulating the scared ghosts as cyan and Inky as green?

That's why they was worse copy cats and not doing it there own designs
The example of 𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓯𝓻𝓿𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓲𝓼𝓶 is the Pac-Man ports for Japan computers
We meet again

you also couldn't get any extra lives in the PMW3 version either last i checked

5:24 Well, that was terrifying. PC-88 Pac-Man is literally screaming for his life.

Namco Museum (Xbox, GCN, PS2)
Pac-Man World 2 (Xbox, GCN, PS2, PC)
MZ700 really going "Fr Fr Fr Fr Fr Fr Fr"
I like when in MZ700’s version, every is “fr”
I like how in the Colecovision version, the ghosts will regenerate in their little home after getting munched
Honestly that's kinda better than their bodies just appearing
Normal consoles: have the fruits
Mz-700: F R A N C I U M
Tomy Tabletop: Cherry
0:43 Sounds like a low battery notification
Its interesting how some ports seem to retain the original maze but had to change it to be vertical so that it would fit the screen
0:57 Igniknokt and Err's death
1:19 WHAT A FRAME TO PAUSE ON 😂
4:43 the ghosts have turned into forks.
The same company who made the TI-99/4, Texas Instruments, makes calculators today and you can download pac man on some of them and play it. It goes full circle :)
The Nec Pc-8001MkII version of Pac-Man was released in August 1984
Stage Start, Power Up, and Life Lost
scariest death sound is 5:12
KEEEEEEEWAAAAAH
MZ700 (Normal type) Pac-Man items are the word fr
pc8800: green clyde
c64: green inky
ms dos: green pinky
blinky is the only one that remains uncursed
The key on the game boy version kind of looks like a donkey Kong hammer, but black and white
Pac man gotta be one of the games
6:40 the namco museum version always pissed me off because the patterns don't work on it.
i love how mz700 is just “Fr”
0:47 nah that ghost is tweaking
The Apple II version is an official clone originally called Taxman
9:29 what is the song?
Probably the menu music from the GBA Pac Man collection
This is the first time in my life I've ever seen any of the bonus fruit beyond the apple on the Apple ][ ! I had this as a kid---I think I still do, as a matter of fact!---but I've neve made it past the apple stages.

Niestety wersja na Apple II niewiele lepsza tyle że ma komplet ikon.
MZ-700's fruits are just Fr.
the fact we didnt get a direct arcade port until 1999
2:03 i like the version
I like the music at the end. Where's it from?
ok but what were coleco and tomy doing 💀
edit: more bad versions:
sinclair, pc8001 mkii
They were probably LCD games.
Отличная подборка.
They put NABU in it!!! 1:57
wth is a nabu
I don't know what is nabu
I think they put it in the pac man game🤔
NABU is a home computer system with very early Internet; it's functionality was revolutionary at the time

They could’ve used Blue as the the scared ghosts just like how most versions do
Which one do you remember playing first?
