I have 18 ackee trees at home in mandeville,Manchester Jamaica and as long as the ackee is open on or off the tree its 100% safe to eat i sell the closed ones to men who go around and buy for the export market,when the ackee is fit to pick the seeds turn from red to black we pick and the buyer take it to a place to alow it to open in the sun then its sorted and taken and sold to canned ackee factories.

Yes that what we use plantains to make anything we give the baby green plantains porridge, I give it to my baby that born in America, rich in Iron. Very good. As an adult living in America I make it almost every week.

My daughter lives pretty close to this place. This is Heroes Circle in Kingston Jamaica. Famous area for the selling of ready to eat boiled crabs, primarily, but other stuff like roasted corn/yams and other treats or on the menu. Glad you had a great time in my country. #WodeMaya. #onelove brother.

You don't have to cook it first. You can cut in small pcs place in blender with water then pour in pot then add water are fresh whole milk cook for about 10 minutes then use sweet condensed milk and vanilla delicious
