Every time the owner of the restaurant laughed or smiled it brought tears to my eyes, she needed to go international and open restaurants all over the world. What a wonderful human being.

Our family name is actually Salvador and our family home is called Salvador house. Your escapades have filled me such joy, that me and a few of my cousins living in the diaspora are planning a holiday/research to Bahia Salvador, to learn more about his time in Salvador. Keep up the energy and great work @wode Maya 🐐
Of all the videos that you have done in Brazil, this one is my favorite. There are many ways for people to get to know one another, but food and music are the best ways for us African people to come together. You are a wonderful ambassador for Pan-Africanism, brother!

Wode Maya: This is one of your best videos! You did a very important thing in cooking Ghanaian food for Brazilians. God bless you. I'm really glad to see Kali eating African food. One day I hope to see her eating Kenyan food.

Great one, lesson learn from this, we as Ghanaians must emulate the aspect of weighing by pricing, instead of visual and quantities. Example the Yam was weighed and price it by the number of kilo , like 1kilo x 2cedis .😮

I have only been to Sao Paolo and Rio. The Brazilian culture is vibrant. Somehow they could tell we were foreigners. We South Africans. They had so much love for us.
@@africaine4889 I am African and i have been all over Brazil. They usually assumed that i was Brazilian depending on how i dressed, until i spoke. Some people thought i was pretending when i couldn't speak Portuguese. I think they are more likely to tell based on your dressing than how you look.
@@dommy_carlosBrazil has many races, most Brazilians are mixed race, but there are some Brazilians who look identical to Africans, Europeans or even Japanese. Uncle, that restaurant owner is such a happy soul. I wish they all get a chance to bisit their mother soil soon! They are our's they definitely belong to us!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know the Afro-Brazilian people, not just recent African immigrants living in Brazil. As you now see, there is more to Black cultures in the Americas than civil rights and the predominant Eurocentric culture that exists around them.
Why would he choose to acquaint himself with recent African immigrants, who are a minority, instead of connecting with Afro-Brazilians? Africans are often unfamiliar with the nuances of Black cultures rooted in civil rights, so the phrase 'there is more to' holds little significance here. If you find this Eurocentric society challenging, consider exploring other environments that align better with your values.
@AfricanMaverick So many African youtubers come to the Americas and don't bother to spend any meaningful amount of time with African Americans, just other Africans. When they do think about African Americans it is often exclusively in the contexts of the Civil Rights Movement.
@@artsylovelylady Who are these African RUclipsrs, and why don't they spend time with African Americans? There are several reasons. Firstly, they enjoy global recognition, diminishing the novelty of encountering an unfamiliar group of Afro-descendants with African-derived culture. Therefore, there is a lack of compelling content in this regard. Secondly, Americans, predominantly influenced by Western culture, present a cultural gap that seems less worth bridging. Apart from Africans, other groups with African culture are scarce. Thirdly, Americans are often perceived as hostile and aggressive, discouraging deeper engagement. Finally, the challenge of connecting with a culture that is not their primary focus further limits their interactions.
That's really the thing. Blacks around the world need to be taught by Africans their culture. We have adopted so many other cultures instead of the ones we are actually from. Learning African manners, morals and culture can clean most from the shackles they learn from Europeans and other cultures that are non-African.
Sure you can try that, while everyone sees you weird Africans as foreigners trying to infect Latin nations with your child like ideas. 😂 AND THEN 🤷 well point, and say hate these outsiders making problems adding nothing, only wanting to take 😅 but calling it teaching. The choice is yours, choose wisely.
Not all Black individuals are of African descent. Those who are should consider reconnecting with their ethnic roots. Learning about one's original culture is crucial; self-awareness is key. Often, Africans worldwide adopt a broad "black" label and align themselves with the local black culture. However, it's important to note that this local culture may not necessarily align with authentic African norms and values; there exists a significant contradiction.
