ACL Drop Jump Force Plate Testing

  • The drop jump or depth jump is used to test the biomechanics of lower extremity shock absorption. We have used a force plate, IMU for joint angle capture, and high speed video to get all pieces of data on the drop jump. We use this for ACL and other lower extremity testing. This is a comparison from 8 months post-op to 1 year post-op. Differences in overall movement and loading control were demonstrated as well as hard data on landing forces.     Are you evaluating valgus displacement with this test as well?

      Yes. We use 3D sensors that give us angle from each plane of movement.
