Ler is the fucking man. his dissonant wild solos and general playing is some of my favorite
I think ler is one of the most underrated guitarist ever
@@christify3418 I second this.
The solo to Bob is one of my favorites. Next-level phrasing.
I've seen Primus live 3 times and Ler always kills it!!! Such a great guitarist
Now I wanna start a band called The Grateful Dead Kennedys
we all need a SOLO record from LER .... i've been praying for decades .....
I’d prefer to hear him back in Possessed 🤘🏻
@@Wargasm644 hah! When pigs fly man
@@bennybonilla2864 pigs do sometimes fly. At least they did when I saw Pink Floyd in concert 😎
@@Wargasm644 Nice. Well next time you see a flying pig, make a wish hahah
@@Wargasm644 I am not supporting the new Possessed anymore unless Larry and the Mikes would be back in the band. But yes this is even more pigs flying!
I’m glad to see that Ler’s doing some pretty high-profile interviews here. He’s always been one of my very favorite guitarists up there with Alex Lifeson and FZ. Ler’s incredibly underrated.
Its you
@@matty7204 Oh, hey there. Didn't expect to see you here
I'm with ya. Those three are in my top 5.
*Ler helped invent Death Metal.*
Seriously, why does nobody talk about this?
More great content with Ler coming soon on Gibson TV!!!
@@gibsonguitar omg That legitimately makes me happy!
Ol' Ler deserves more great interviews 🤘
Thanks guys for supporting Primus and us fans fr😄
The fact that a Deadhead was a Death Metal pioneer doesnt sit right with some people, although it should
@@seriousbismuth2173 silent hill 3!
although definitely not my favorite of the first 4, i respect a ler fan who also has appreciation for one of the best game series.
He never talks about it. Alternative bands generally put down metal. Also just bad/uniformed journalists
The idea of Primus playing Cygnus X1 is quite exciting
Primus and the Melvins was my first concert
Gibson really is making a comeback. 2021 is going to be the rebirth of the Gibson family. A les Paul is my only guitar and it sounds amazing
Been listening to Primus for over 30 years and I never heard his voice, but always imagined it was like an excited 13 year-old who was way into Malmsteen. And here we are.
When I think of Ler, I always think PRS and Strats... Would never have guessed he'd go for Gibson lol
I hear ya, I also think of that Ibanez from the Jerry video that was stolen.
Good taste from a great musician.
Ler is such an underrated guitarist.
First heard Primus on Tony hawks pro skater on n64 when I was 6. The game had a shortened version of 'Jerry was a racecar driver' that was basically just 1 verse + solo. It was my favorite song on that game even though I didn't find out the name or band til 10 years later. That wacky guitar solo impacted me so much
Same here! I still think of THPS1 when I hear Jerry. Same for Superman-Goldfinger. Those songs on that game were iconic.
POSSESSED "Seven Churches" great album!
Absolutely a great one! Beyond the Gates too, Seance the song was a staple in my metal diet back then.
I thought Ler denied being in Possesed?
@@void37000 Nah I didnt hear that . He was young but def in the band for like 3-4 years
@@void37000 No, he doesn't deny it, just doesn't talk about it much.
Arguably the inventors of death metal.
Larry looks great, good to see.
So cool to see Ler! Primus doing A Farewell to Kings would be amazing to see and hear. My favorite Rush album.
Ler is aging really well. Having a great attitude, doing what you love for a living or clean living ? Lol
I saw Possessed in 1986 opening for Anthrax, along with DRI, Corrosion of Conformity, and No Mercy.... INSANE concert to say the least. At the end of the show, Mike Muir from Suicidal Tendencies joined Anthrax to play some ST songs. Crazy crazy show.
Mike Muir being backed up by Anthrax sounds killer, Mike is The fucking man...and Rocky! That guy deserves way more recognition
Theres video of no mercy dri and anthrax, i hope they filmed possessed too
Dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnn they’re getting all of the artists
Gibson out to reclaim the throne. Great to see them rightly getting back to the top.
They better keep aiming at those big 90s guys that are still around.
Although Ler was always a PRS guy - and occasionally playing a Strat as well
Just got myself a Les Paul last week. Very good price, beautifully made, sounds awesome. Its a Maybach. 10/10 would recommend.
Great interview....🤘🎸
Ler! Wish there were more Ler interviews, glad you guys had him on!
Guitarist : *tells joke* Mark Agnesi : " Uh huh....So..."
I get the vibe mark wants to eat larry. Like literally turns into a dragon and eats half of him in one bite
He looks so uncomfortable
Thanks Mark. Ler is a monster that know no boundaries.
No wonder Lar is so free. Joe taught him there are no rules only possibilities. Too cool. Another lesson from the greats. Thanks Gibson TV.
Nice one! Ler seems such a happy dude! Been a fan since Possessed’s “eyes of horror’ EP. (produced by Satch btw,) As the years go by I really feel that Lers playing makes him the off the wall genius in Primus and I say that as a Les emulating Bass player. The palette he creates with is so extremely varied. A true one off.
Why the hell are these getting so good? Keep it up. Nice Job!
Yo, they got Ler? Maybe I buy Gibson this year...
thats what i did and it was totally worth every penny
I would buy a Ler SG!
"Cool! What's a concert? What's Rush?"
oh Ler, never change
Saw them 1995 in Lepakko, Helsinki. It was Ler's birthday. Amazing show.
Always the nicest humblest dude
Let’s Go!!!! Nice!
Ler will always be a legend in the death metal world. Listened the hell out of Seven churches, what a record..
Their live sound is insane. Saw them 2 days ago using their new gear (gibsons, ricks, marshalls). They can definitely go down as one of the greats imo
Very interesting. Ler and Les complement each other so well that I would’ve thought getting those two in a band would’ve been harder than the sort of serendipitous way that Ler joined.
I saw him and Les when Primus opened for Rush in Wembley Arena in April 1992.
Same here. I`ve been a Primus (and Rush) fan ever since.
Me too. Obviously loved Rush but seeing Primus for the first time was eye opening. The memory of Les pumping his knee up and down while he made his bass sound like a helicopter during Pudding Time has endured.
@@M2Mil7er "Bass sound like a helicopter". 👍
Primus is so cool. Cool video, seriously interesting.
Awesome!!!
Ler has taugh me so much about guitarfreedom.
Nice to see Satch getting his props :)
Legend
He’s so underrated.
I always thought Primus was the 'As long as the Drums and bass are together, the guitar can get away with anything!... Big thumbs up for Larry, very overlooked and underated
most underrated guitarist of all time
Primus is the beat sounding band live, maybe 2nd to Megadeth but still so good!
P.s. Great interview Mark Agnesi.🤘
What did Fender do? Ler was playing Fenders during the Slayer farewell tour he mentioned, and lots of people seem to be jumping from Fender guitars to others lately.
Oh wow.
Man I love primas
primeass
The band he talked about where he met Les Claypool was "Blind Illusion" they had one album together in the 80s that Kirk Hammett actually helped produce (uncredited). Funny that larry didn't even bother to mention the name of the band.
Did Mark really say "The Possessed"? Bro, brooooo. Come on
What does that have to do with anything? Ler is a member of The Primus
Lol
Tak delok seko kene bos. JOGJA INDONESIA
A little-known fact, Ler lives inside a guitar case.
Primus is cool and all, and Gibson is KILLING it right now, but if yous are making Epiphone USA models, then when exactly can we expect the Robben Ford Epiphone USA Riviera?
Icons: Ler?!
FUCK YEAH LER
Fish onnn
I love Primus but I wasn't into the Willy Wonka or the Desaturating Seven albums. I loved Green Naugahyde though.
I love the Wonka album and play it for the holidays. GN is a great album, but Desaturation was meh. I was ready for some new Primus, not a concept album about a children's book.
So this is the member of primus that was in possessed. I remember someone telling me when I was like 15 that one of the primus guys was in possessed. I thought it was teenage folklore or something in 93 or whatever
Larry was pretty nice and open. I always thought he was more the introvert kind of guy.
no, it is just when is included in an interview with Les, Les overtakes the interview. He talks a lot andes not let Ler jump in…
Lee needs to do an instructional video. Now!
Subtítulos, por favor, los que no entienden inglés compran Gibson.
Interesting; I never knew he took lessons from Joe Satriani. Makes sense, now that I know, because the stuff that he was doing in Primus was pretty weird. Not quite structured stuff, but just interesting notes and patterns and scales, and what not. I never really liked his guitar playing in Primus, so it’s interesting listening to him explain how he fit in with such an active bass and drum team.
I’m not saying he’s a bad guitar player, but it just was strange to me. But that’s why they kicked ass anyways. I was mainly just interested in the drums and bass.
I took lessons from Satriani in early 1986, I think it was, but only for a month because I was a religious Christian at the time, and Joe was just starting to produce Possessed. I didn’t know this guy was in the band at the time. So I learned two things I didn’t know because of this video. Right on..
so... you were Possessed....
@@NaneuxPeeBrane LOL!
Larry Lalonde, Kirk Hammet, Rick Hunolt and Alex Skolnick were all Joe Satriani students.
@@shawnofeons Interesting, I did not know Alex was also.
@@davidbrucemusicvideo Yeah Joe taught young guitarists in the bay area, those 4 guys ended up in successful thrash metal bands
Intending this to be constructive and helpful ... try putting Mark behind a table/desk or put a guitar in his hand. Unless someone has a gigantic personality, you really can’t leave them out there on an island. Mark has the ability and personality to deliver but you have to give him the tools and support to deliver.
Why the hell hasn't Ler ever made a solo album?
what??? why?? no more strats for Ler ??
His balls finally dropped
Buckethead is a big fan or Lers.
Still waiting for Mustaine and Lifeson
If Primus cancels a second time for the Seattle show scheduled for August, I want my money back. Not blaming Primus.
I literally cant think of one picture of larry with a gibson. Seems like he likes prs and fender. Maybe this is just the Mandela effect though. The more I look around at society, the more I blame on an idea straight out of a star trek script.
His 2017 rig rundown is all fender and one PRS if I remember correctly. Still very cool to see this interview!
Makes me feel guilty. I have a Roxy SG and he doesn't! He could sure do it justice much better than I can.
Lol, gibson guy that was cooked out of his mind in that one video 😂
I thought Per plays only Strats, he has like 50
He played Strats from 1989 to 1991, then he switched to PRS's, then in the early 2000's he used both, then switched back to mainly Strats around 2011.
@@wompus6570 so where are the gibsons? Apart from the SG he just got for farewell to the kings
@@AKJ828 He used a bunch of Les Pauls and SGs for the livestream Primus did about a month ago.
He used a Mustang Special around 2011.
No big deal, but i get irritated when an interviewer asks what it's like to be in the presence of someone else; In this case Satriani. It seems a little disrespectful. This is Ler's interview, and he's great at what he does. I don't view him as being below Joe.
So nice , this getaway from real bad politics news . Go Gibson and Burstbuckers 1&2 !
Where’s the Dave Mustaine?!
Changing his diaper and yelling at Kids to get off his lawn? 🤣
Ler is one of my favorite guitarist and Primus is the band that made me want to get on a stage and play the weird stuff I like to play. But Gibson really went downhill in my opinion of brands. They have a long way to go before I accept them as a decent brand again.
You obviously haven’t played a Gibson in a while.
@@Wargasm644 I have a Gibson. But it took a while and a lot of work to make it play well. Their QC has gone downhill. Hell, they even filed some bankruptcy stuff because of that. Their guitars were outclassed by other companies that sold better products for less.
How did they go downhill? I've never played a Gibson before
@@ext93 Quality Control was really hit or miss for a long while (it's apparently better now) but yeah, you don't want to buy a Gibson and then have to hope the one you'll receive won't need a re-setup as soon as you get it.
Does anyone else feel like "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" ? ⛵ 🧀
Day 261547271 of wanting Dave Mustaine to finally release his new Gibson/Kramer sig
They should call it G-TV ......for G string TV 🤪 ! I am fired....
kirk hammet is worth 200 million and satriani is worth 12 million ? ????????
Dude, the black album sells like 1 mill a day.
@@massttrshrdrharmonicminor2002 thats because its great to crank up and drink beer to. i like cranking up mettalica. however satch blows kirk out of the water guitarist wise, just ironic that talent doesnt always equate to $
@@johnsmith-bk4ps agreed but I'll raise you that kirk was apart of an underground scene. Pioneering imo.
Should have stayed with Possessed.
Yes but at the end he wasn't satisfied with playing just wild solos and death metal. One of the reasons the original Possessed broke up was Ler wanting to leave the band and Mike Torrao and Jeff Becerra not getting along anymore and Mike Sus also wanting to change his musical direction. But they should reform now what Jeff is doing to Possessed is a disgrace.
soooooo, the elephant in the room. Ler sig?
You mean the pachyderm
The man that sounds like angry chickens.
First
where is Dave Mustaine!!!!!
Changing his diaper and yelling at Kids to get off his lawn? 🤣
Please get Mark a more comfortable chair or something. When he's listening to the guest, he looks very uncomfortable. Almost as if he has a gun on him.
He should have been fired ages ago
Where is Dave Mustaine? He said in January. January is almost over.
Metallica almost had Les, but he was too good, thank god
What ? Confused 😐
