I love building the tamiya kits, the detail is unmatched with them and they’re actually fun to build. I just finished the 1971 skyline gtr, and the Mercedes 300sl gull wing.
Just letting you know I just got done building this kit and had problems putting the rear fenders or flying buttresses or whatever there called because I painted them separately. The clearcoat was enough to make them not fit right. If I were to build it again (when I build it again) I would definitely glue them on before painting even though it would be harder to paint. Other than that I had no problems and it's a great kit and had a lot of fun
Nice ! I am building the same kit right now with the same wheels and the PE parts from Hobby Design actually really good designed. Would be great to see a build series for this kit
i picked up the same kit for just over half the price they normally sell for from amazon i want that rear wing so im putting off building it till things return to normal so i can order one i would get the metallic stripes but it looks like there is no cut out for the ford logo like the tamiya ones so i may just paint my own stripes i think im going to tint the stock wheels with tamiya smoke
The Revell germany kit has a full engine. SUPER detailed. Spent a ton of time making it look MINT. And then buried it in the engine bay. Under the exhaust and suspension and thru the LITTLE rear window, its BASICALLY invisible LOL.
I have been eyeballing this kit for a while now, so I am very keen to see what you do with this. I love the USCP wheel set. I have looked at his site and am getting a fair few of his products in the coming weeks. I have a small question for you: those scale motorsport CF decals; do you use Microsol/set on them? I have used them in the past and have had some seriously odd results before any type of clear coat is added to them. The texture looks a bit rough and I was wondering if they might be reacting to the setting agent? In this case microsol etc
I notice the carbon fiber decal sheet is 1/12 scale but this Ford GT kit is only 1/24 scale. Was that a goof or do you intentionally use the larger scale CF decals? I'm also curious which type of CF decals from Scalemotorsport you usually use as I really like how your builds come out but you never mention the scale, colour (black/pewter or clear) type of weave (Twill, or plain) or size (reg, med, High definition med, large). I totally admire your modelling skill and have learned quite a lot from watching your videos
The scalemotorsportset is done by scalemotorsport as a set with templates. i did not choose the sheets ;) most of the time i use scaleproduction carbonfiber. they only have 1 option. twill weave 1:24.
Tamiya might cost a little more, but the detail looks insane. Im dealing with AMT junk you cant even read the #s on the tree. Tamiya tree details are better than some piece details on cheaper kits.
There are just as many, or little( depending on how you want to look at it) build videos as there have been for the last couple months. These unboxing videos are just extra free content that don’t take away from the build videos ;)

Carbon exterior with orange stripes and orange accents in the interior would be awesome.

Interesting project there Tom, sounds like you're going for a great colour scheme and those rims are gorgeous. Looking forward for update no.1 👍🏼👍🏼
Love all the extras you have for this build. I'll be watching

Very interesting aftermarket parts and decals. That one will be an excellent looking model when it is completed. Thanks for sharing.
You are going to enjoy building that kit! Geogous quality from Tamiya as always and everything just fits together so nicely
Nice review. I actually built and painted mine with the body assembled. It did require some airbrush acrobatics but you can paint it assembled.

I use SET and SOL on them yes. They recommend a little bit of a less aggressive solution themselves
Looking forward to seeing this one being built
That's a GREAT kit.................... 👍👍👍

Tried getting a PE set for this kit and the Tamiya NSX from HLJ, no luck with either, I wish it was easier to get detail up stuff in the US.
Look at ebay I found a zonda c12 pe set on ebay pretty easily. Got it in less than a week too and I'm in the us
will you work on a Lamborghini Reventón from Fujimi as next?

Luv this car
I'm assuming uscp isn't shipping right now?
Correct
Real cool my son build this kit awell ago
I guess it will be a Shmee150 - Ford GT. (Red with Gold Stripes)
Nope
@@TheScalemodelingChannel my guess would be black (gloss or matt) or gulf colours you said orange stripes
Nope
When you are airbrushing your models, how do you stop your airbrush from clogging up/tip drying when you are waiting between coats? Thank's
I don't have a solution for this. i simply do nothing, and i don't have this problem happen to me somehow.
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Thank's

There is too many unboxing videos now… and not a lot of building these models…

I enjoy them and have used them to check what kinda detail a kit has before buying it

Sorry?
Those are the ugliest racing stripes decals I’ve ever seen. They actually make you pay money for those?
