In his autobiography he tells the story about his grandmother’s wish to be buried facing east so that when the resurrection happens she can rise from the grave. When she died the people in charge of her burial did not do as she asked so when Andre made enough money he had her casket dug up and re-positioned to the east and he bought her a six feet tall marble obelisk to mark her grave….he really loved her !

He would not be who he was without his grandmother. What a tremendous loss. I can’t think of one person who can touch his encyclopedic knowledge of fashion. ALT I will miss you forever.
