Just a note, magma trooper's basic calculates by first "asking" each character on the enemy team if he will hit them. This dispels ALL foresight from the enemy team and then calculating turn meter. this works because tenacity and dodge are two separate effects and calculate independently from each other. thus in a Vader lead when magma trooper "asks" with his basic attack all enemy will begin the Vader turn meter chance query. this then follows that even if magma trooper isn't successful while hitting the enemy, the turn meter chance will effect all TARGETED enemys.

Thanks for the info! Like you I invested in Magmatrooper early on but he quickly became a benchwarmer. Adding him to my squad helped me to go from in the 100s into the top 50 arena.
you know who I would love see get added to the game?
Gor - Grievous's pet as an actual character but he would most likely be added as a raid.
Cut Lawquane - the deserter clone trooper who is now a farmer.
Embo, Bossk & -21 Highsinger - 3 very badass bounty hunters.
He also works really well in GW alongside TFP under Zader lead. Can gain a bunch of TM off of Five's counterattack and not allow the other team to get in a turn. Never thought about using in him in Arena even though it makes sense with so many people running debuff teams right now. Nice video!
Dude... I just mentioned in my guild chat I wouldn't be able to stomach gearing up my Magmatrooper because he was so terrible... You have me completely reconsidering this mindset... I have something like 250+ Security Scanner salvage, so I'd definitely be able to get him those gear 10 potency gear boosts which are really what make him viable in the first place. Or I suppose I could just reallocate my Potency Mods, farm some more, or whatever to see how he performs at Gear 8.

Haha I remember when I geared him up back when raid gear first became a thing it was so painful to give him the pieces he needs. Especially when I had only so few pieces at that time. Then I never used him for 10 months lol I think just getting him to G10 so he has high health and protection and potency mods might be the safest bet to go!

This is super cool, great idea. I'd love to try this combo with Zarriss in the team instead of Maul. Perhaps Tenacity mods can get Magmas Tenacity high enough to actually be a decent attempt at more resists.

There is definitely a bug with the multiple remove TM on Magmatrooper. This also seems to happen with TFP's basic under Zader. At least in the HAAT. I have seen a video of Zader lead with TFP in P3 and TFP's basic removes TM from all Adds.

Vader lead empire with Magmatrooper, TFPilot, GMTarkin and a filler slot have been my dark side and empire team since I got Vader. I 3* stage 8 hard battles at lvl 68 Glvl 6-7 1-2. mods lvl5 abilities, except TFP who was tricked out lvl70 with close lvl palpatine or sidious ally. Vader Palp 2017!
I always chuckle at how magmatrooper can hit someone else with his normal ability. I guess having bas accuracy helps :P

my Magma isn't 7* yet but am looking forward using him with takin under Vader and see what happens
Another fun team is to send in the BUCKET HEADS... Vader lead, Magma, Snow, Tie, and Death... mine is not very hi right now.. but it is fun to watch.

Loved magmatrooper! got him at 5* when he first came out only to find out he sucked! at least over time he's gotten better
He got better mainly because of Vader's zeta but outside of that he himself did not get better. But at least he is useable now!
Help! Need advice. What is the better zeta investment. At the moment I run Zader Palp Thrawn Sid Tarkin CL. The three I am considering are Vader's unique, Palps unique or Palps leader. I know how good Palps leader is, i just love Vader! So would it be better to go with Palps unique? Or is he still squishy with it? Great vid as always mate. Open to anyone's suggestions though!

Yep! This is why I wanted to show this video! And best part of all Magmatrooper is "smarter" when the AI uses him compared to Krennic and Death Trooper.

Nice vid! I´m running a palp lead, with vader, 5 star shore (got lucky in the last tournament), tie fighter pilot, and bobba fett (dunno what else to put in here), and have been doing moderately well, hovering around the 40 spot in arena (my shard is a wiggs infestation).
I have two questions you magnificent towel wearing man: is the new kylo ren a good replacement for bobba in my team (or what would you stick in there)? and should my first zeta be vader?

Regarding your questions for the wise towel man (lol) I'd say Boba is just a tad better than Kylo Ren. The mass ability block and execute is very deadly. And he is a bit faster. So if you think you can forgo having ability block and the opportunity to strip away taunts then Kylo is a replacement. But to be fair they are both fundamentally two different characters.
About the Vader zeta, so far I have been super impressed! I'd say hold off a bit until we see what Nihilus looks like but Vader is a great bang for your buck character to zeta! I'll be showcasing more of him over the next week.

Glad you enjoyed the vid. I'd say there are a lot better characters than Magma right now. BUT he is a super fast character to farm. So if you want someone to farm quickly go for him but he's not that amazing overall. Just an ok character

Thank you for the reply it really is appreciated I have suggestions to farm first order so I can get bb-8 but others are telling me Phoenix for thrawn but that would be a long Farm since I have no Phoenix I figured farming my mid-game Imperial will get me R2 which will get me CLS much sooner then thrawn, would you agree?

Yeah his gear requirements are pretty bad. I invested in him heavily back in May last year and it was so not worth it lol Just starting to get use out of him now.

Would Han Solo be a good counter to the current meta? His ability shoots first always and stuns them.(I think)

yes i use him to stun SThan but ofc you would want to switch him out if you are fighting shore or baze.

Oh yeah you could use Sun Fac, STH, and RG. Baze and Shoretrooper are juts more preferred to stop Wiggs and if you could get them to like 3 stars they will do fine. But the first 3 tanks I mentioned will also be great!

Haha yes that was one of the problems! He was always giving random enemies offense up or turn meter bonuses. It was horrible!
Hey Ahnald, what's your opinion on Darth Maul Zeta?
Its good, don't get me wrong, but I think there are better options out there. Like Vader's zeta serves well in many aspects of the game (I'll be showcasing them soon). Maul's lead works best against critical damage metas but is easily countered by buff immunity and AoE attacks. They just need to rework the stealth mechanic to make it better.

Haha well outside of Vader's zeta leader he is not that amazing. Its Vader and his zeta that makes Magmatrooper step up to the plate. I have a farming guide for Empire characters coming out this week!

Yeah there's a vader zeta bug. My TFP will remove turn meter from every debuffed enemy.
In my Opinion Boba Fett and Zeta Vader work perfectly together.
Even more than Darth Maul.
Why did u choose him over Boba?
Few reasons mainly because I wanted to experiment a little bit, have some fun (because EVERYONE uses Boba), and because my Maul is G11 and Boba is G9. I actually eventually took out Maul and put in B2 and I have now secured a spot in the Top 10 and rarely fall now! Its great!
Where do you get 80% ? 20 plus 20 =90%
60% from Magma's AoE + Darth Vader's leader which lets you remove an additional 20% is where I get the 80%.
Do u think that will work without the zeta
It won't be as successful. I'm speaking from personal experience. Mainly because your team has less opportunities to remove TM. Having a 50% chance with the zeta is huge!

No chibaze, no GK. Great, but these teams you're facing are already super easy w/wo magmatrooper, so...
Give too much credit to magmatrooper. Baze is the hero here. I finally decided to bite the bullet and all my crystal income is going towards Shoretrooper. Tanks that start with taunt are OP as hell.
To some extent yes you're right he is a key player but I did this with RG before and it worked fine as well. I don't mind tanks that taunt at the beginning. Easy to get around as long as I keep piling the damage and they can't gain enough turn meter to attack.
still using droid team ftw, with a little mods i can escalate to 20, been dificult in the new meta, waiting ea to zeta a droid xD no ,love from them
Zeta HK would be nice. IG-88 could use some love too. Magnaguard, definitely.
they just dont want to buff droids :P
I was using droids since September for everything. No problems ever using them on offense but on defense they are just really bad. Going from 1st place to the 60s in one day means it is time to change something up.
