Yeah fortunately Rebels are in an abundance everywhere so if you can get Palpatine as early as possible unlocked you are going to have a breeze in the game early on!
I love the list. I know that it isn't Rancor gear, but I feel like the Mk 10 TaggeCo Holo Lens (Nihilus and EP both need one at g10) would be worth mentioning. It's AAT only gear and while it can be requested in the guild exchange it's not exactly easy to get. I'm curious why you don't include the Purple AAT gear as notable gear? I'm not trying to be critical - I love your vids - just hoping to gain some context :).
It was more of a judgment call for the sake of time. It was still calculated in purple gear. I did originally record it but decided to cut it out since it added a few more minutes on the video. Figured Rancor gear was more important to know since you need that to at least get to G10 for most characters.
I'd like to see these kinds of assessments done considering the difficulty of farming the gear, cuz 800 purple pieces could mean 800 of those things everyone has a giant stash of... or it could mean stun cuffs... right?
Timely video my man. I just joined a raiding guild and need to gear some characters to help on the Rancor since my arena team isnt all 7*s yet (lvl 75). I was thinkiing QGJ for the TM help and I completed the Palp event last week at 7*s but havent started him up, leveled or geared. But since I need 7* toons it looks like its time to max QGJ in stars, have the shards just havent ponied up the credits to make the 7* push, ugh credits. There is a lot to do for newer players, you need a raid team 7* and geared, an arena team, a team of pilots. Then scoundrels for the Credit Heist and then teams for mods. Plus special events, Jedi, Rebels, Empire. This puts a real hurting on the credit book.
I would make some adjustments. There are raid gears that are pain in the a.., like Mk 5 CEC Fusion Furnace (Wiggs, Rex, Boba, ...) and when you are building a team you can stuck on level 8/9 and be in need of 200 of them (my case). There are also some purple/gold gears that are farmable in challanges (should be excluded from the total count to show how many gears you need to farm on nodes).
Really appreciate all your videos, I'm new to the game (about a month in) so I have been doing a lot of back-watching of your videos and Mobile gamers videos to learn all I can!
It's hilarious because I had been stuck on having gear 8 as my highest gear just because I didn't have an easy way to grind for the gear since I was getting DS ships for Zeta materials but as soon as I started Barriss, I got her to gear 11 within a week.
Sometimes purple gear requirement is subjective in the sense that a character that needs lots of mk 6 Hypo Syringes, mk 4 Keypads or mk 3 Carbanti Sensor Arrays are easier to gear than a character who needs lots of mk 3 Stun Cuffs, mk 5 stun guns or mk 3 Holo Projectors
Just 3-starred the hard battle for Nihilus, going to focus on him by doing that 3 times a day, buying his shards with crystals and in the shard shop (going to buy duplicates in all other shops) I'm going to use him in arena with dooku, vader, palpatine and royal guard. Meanwhile I'm getting 1000 fleet tokens a day, and I'll buy a zeta material every other day to level Darth Vaders's leader for the Rancor. Does this seem like a good plan? Also, after I've gotten the 20 zeta's, should I do the ~40-day wait again for leveling Nihilus's leadership, or should I focus on darkside ships and pilots? Should I alter my arena comp a bit?
great video with good insight however you left out the AAT raid gear requirements which is an even larger hurdle than the rancor and should also be taken into consideration

Rex. 1100 Purple, 0 gold. Amazing character. If you are F2P, you need to get this guy. I went straight to IX from XI. So easy to gear. Put him in my Droid team in place of HK-47. Oh the irony :D (Rex, 88, R2, JE + Nebit)
I feel like this could have been a more useful video for new players if it elaborated on how easily obtained the purple gear is. Some purple gear is a lot harder to obtain and more widely required than others, for example.
Cassian should be on the top 10, Applies a whole bunch of debuffs, can inflict expose, can inflict buff immunity on his basic, gains turn meter when he debuffs, can pass all debuffs on the enemies onto a single target with high damage, the guy is a monster, currently is Gear 10 for me
He was really close to making this list! I had a lot of people vote on this list and he did not get as many votes as the others. Definitely worth gearing at some point.

For sure useful for the Rancor raid!! Works best mainly when you give Darth Vader his Zeta but he can work without him. Almost all my recent Rancor videos have Magmatrooper in them!
Emperor Palpatine hands down!!! He is such a flexible character in this game and his debuffs counter so many thing. He even helps a ton against Maul teams by applying shock. Does great damage too and that AoE stun can really shut down the whole team. Plus he does not even need a Zeta to be amazing.

So with EP and DN, yeah the end result is a low requirement of purple pieces but the amount of farming needed to acquire the parts to make the pieces is very high. I think this is misleading.
They were actually the fastest characters for me to gear up. When I got Palpatine it took about 1-2 weeks to gear up all the way. Nihilus was my fastest taking 1 week to G11. I looked at the gear they all needed and those two are not that bad to gear up. Don't need a million stun cuffs and whatnot.
I think "easy to gear" term depends on how many freaking stun cuffs they need, more than raid gear, which are easy to get if you are in a good guild. Because no matter how good is your guild, it is so hard to get a stun cuff without giving that togruta girl on the bar 1400 crystals every now and then.
Personally, I thought Finn should have been on this list. I don't know how much gear he needs, but I geared him up very easy and fast and he is pretty good
I'm in doubt.... I can't decide wether to farm IG-88 or Darth Sidious, I've acumulated 6400 arena coins because I can't make up my mind. (I already have Ackbar, STHan, Mace and Eeth Koth at 7 stars... I regret the last 2 but I thought everything would be better once I got Yoda and it wasn't)
Yeah they are both great characters. Well if you are looking for a character that is easy to gear 88 is the way to go. If you also have other droids geared up or need someone to help you complete the highest credit heist challenge for sure get 88. Sidious is a must have if you have Maul, Vader, or Nihilus. He also does well with Darth Vader zeta in the AAT raid. Fast and puts out a lot of damage and debuffs. Definitely farm both at some point. So long story short, if you got some great droids get 88 but if not get Sidious.
Thanks! I got some droids but none of them are geared or have more than 5 stars. I always strugle with the credit heist, because I only have Boba, Han and Lando with 7 stars a gear VIII, I use Chewie and Cad Bane, but since I don't like them that much I don't have them at a very high level. I'm going to go with IG-88 and then Sidious... I suppose I'll go with Cassian after them, but I could use a good droid/scoundrel

AAT Raid gear was just lumped under purple gear for the sake of time. And yeah slight oversight on gold gear for Nihilus as others have pointed out but fortunately he still satisfies the requirement for this list.
Did I say 1? My bad yeah he needs two so he at least still meets the requirements for this list. He was actually my second fastest character I ever geared up next to Palpatine. Took maybe a week to get him to G11 and I didn't spend any money.

Yes, you can only get his shards from an event. He was only talking about the ease of gearing him up once you have him. I was able to beat his event with Wedge as the leader, Stormtrooper Han, Akbar, Lando, and Biggs. They were all at gear level 8. I had defense mods on Han, tenacity mods on Akbar, and crit chance mods on everyone else.
The only guy I listen to on SWGOH, still think at early levels Poe Dameron is poor at low levels. Chewy is ok though. Dameron is barely able to survive a taunt.

Genosian Solider is a great farm because his ship is one of the best attacking ships AND you need dark side ships to unlock the zeta battle

yesterday i got ma lando up to gear 9 he had the easiest gear pieces so far im happy that i made the right choice to stick to him he is such a beast
Oh yeah he is crazy. If the enemy does not have critical hit immunity it makes it an easy match for you!

why is CLS not on the list... his gear is pretty easy compared to other tier0s. Unlocked him a two weeks ago and now he's already 3 gears from gear 12

Im in the same shoes buddy. Saved up all my gear, but I'm stuck with the MK V Droid caller for G10, If I get that, he has straight way for G11.

He was just mainly ranked at 10 because he isn't as amazing as the other guys but he's just one that is so easy to gear he needed to be on the list!

Yes, you can only get his shards from an event. He was only talking about the ease of gearing him up once you have him. I was able to beat his event with Wedge as the leader, Stormtrooper Han, Akbar, Lando, and Biggs. They were all at gear level 8. I had defense mods on Han, tenacity mods on Akbar, and crit chance mods on everyone else.

The only guy I listen to on SWGOH, still think at early levels Poe Dameron is poor at low levels. Chewy is ok though. Dameron is barely able to survive a taunt.
