Magmatrooper is one of my favorite characters. I love it when he occasionally pops up for a quick 15 minutes in the spotlight!
He's like a magical sea creature. When he surfaces, it is glorious. But just as quickly as he arrived, he will one day go back into the depths of the waters only to surface when we needed him most again.
He’s probably one of those kits the devs deeply regret, because they do some trivial thing - a raid/TB mechanic, a GL that does a bunch of debuffs, a datacron - and suddenly Magmatrooper pops up like a mischievous golf-course groundhog and completely ruins their carefully-laid plans.
I deeply love him. I remember back in the days when the first few trayas came to my arena shard, and best them all with the zthrawn lead+magma team. Good old days

Haha jokes aside though, this seems to be mostly related to datacrons. CG has a strict "we do not care" policy about what happens with datacrons. They do not worry about game balance.

Hey man I quit around the same time. Whenever relics came out. I still go back and watch some of the CUP show too when cubs and mobile gamer was staying at ahnaldts. So good. Anyway I recommend trying the game again. It’s less free to play now and with the changes to the guild raid currency it’s far easier to build up characters. And Grand arena is still good 👍

Imperial Troopers are one of my favourite teams, and I find it cool that magmatrooper can help them solo jabba, even if you need the exact datacrons.
Ah Magmatrooper, my first love. My favorite go to character and first to 7 stars in the first couple months of starting this game.

Until I get the Scarif Shoretrooper, the Magmatrooper has been putting in that work on my Iden squad.
I don't know how well he does in a more properly built squad (I just have the barebones), but I have him with Iden, Scout Trooper, Death Trooper, Stormtrooper, and that squad has very nearly gotten me through the Dark Side missions.
I look forward to giving them a chance once I get to where I can really focus on squad builds. Right now, I'm just working on unlocking characters.

Fun fact: my first 7 star character was magmatrooper, this was around the time iden versio came to the game and i got a whole trooper team ready for her.
this is really good news. i dont have a jabba counter at all since i leave my JMK on defense but i took all my troopers to relic for iden so i do have magma at relic 5 so now i gotta fish out this datacron lol thanks for the useful video as always ahnald!

If you toggle the mark to dark trooper then magma trooper the 20 stacks of debuffs will reset and magma will get a massive TM gain for 20 more turns.

Not sure if this is a good idea, but shouldn't you unmark magma trooper every so often so infinite tm restarts? I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if it's Unnecessary to do.

I will never get how the AI works for Piett. I did put a lot of battles on auto, and i always felt like he was giving the mark to a completely random ally. That being said, great to see that Veers is still doing some work (temporarily) !
Yeah was pretty crazy how he kept giving mark to Magmatrooper in all the battles.
I was curious about this, but had Magma in the wrong line up. I used Iden as a leader, in 3v3 it was working but not 5v5.
Would this counter work without Moff so you could have the Imp Remnants in GAC as well?

Wonder what this team can do without the datacron against other teams. Maybe this can free up dark trooper for the new remenant team if you also replace scout

I have played this game for long time now, and I have a question, why doesn't Luke Skywalker farm boy have an X-wing ship ? I mean it is only in the climax of episode IV could we get a rework for farm boy luke

could magmatrooper replace range trooper in a usual Imperial tm train team?
Range gives out assists, which means more emperors trap for more tm. Troopers work the best when you just loop the enemy, which usually means no debuffs for magma. Range is definitely the big 4th, honestly replacing Gideon/starck would be more in magma’s realm but that’s not really optimal either bc you want mark on dark trooper for the damage

Will this only work with Scout? I have Magma and everyone else at relics, haven't gotten Scout up yet.

That is all interesting. But. The real question we need to discuss. What are we going to do without the blue Datacrons against the brown Datacrons on the next two seasons of GAC? 😒

Even without the incoming DC, the current one that enables this will be expiring after this 3v3 GAC season, and I doubt this will work in 3v3, as Troopers are one of the factions that really falls off in 3v3 as compared to 5v5.
Could work for this month’s TW battles, but personally I’ll keep running my trusty CLS counter 😎

Technically yes. But then you cannot flex you beat Jabba on full auto.

Hey Ahnald, I’m having a bit of an issue and idk if you can help but I figured I’d ask. I haven’t been able to log into swgoh for the past two days. I keep getting a pop up that says I have a problem with my internet connection, and to fix it and restart the app. But when I do it doesn’t go away and just tells me “Error Code 3.0” I reached out for help but all the help is limited to within the game
I’ve been playing since launch, and I’m not going to restart, but I dont want to just walk away after spending all this time and effort over the years

CG has done nothing new or learned anything or improved anything for a long time..
Whereas Marvel Strike Force has been getting better and better recently. Theyre adding essentially TB to the game next year it seems. They have quadruple drops on older characters 😮
Im a Star Wars guy, but MSF is genuinely enjoyable. I wish CG could make this game actually fun.

They have never and will never nerf something datacron related. They have made it clear and there have been way more broken datacron interactions they did nothing about.
