      Not to be pessimistic, and yes I’m aware that things happen where people with internal mental health battles randomly decide to up and leave from their life; but this is so out of left field for someone given the circumstances to just drop everything and travel by car to the opposite side of the country just to leave his vehicle in the desert. What on earth, I could be wrong but it seems like something that would happen in a situation where there’s a car jacking and someone is forcing the person to drive to somewhere, then abandons the car.

      @@kathleenwagner3259 I agree that’s exactly what I thought, he was a sweet kid from what I recall, he was pretty quiet. I can’t imagine right before Christmas he’d just decide to leave his family. They seemed to be close from what they’re saying. And Arizona I mean that’s the opposite side of the country from us, it’s just wild and I know they say people who end up offing themselves will typically continue on with business as usual like nothings wrong, but I mean idk, like you said with the tags it just seems really really off.. I really pray for answers here.

      I watch a lot of these crime shows which means nothing, but I think this is a case of foul play.
      He was just spending time with his family and friends and appeared to be happy weeks and days before he disappeared. Why would he go pick up his prescription go to Chick-fil-A and do just regular running around errands and then just take off, then leave the car with no plate and 15 miles worth of gas in it with a note saying "hey whoever finds this car you can keep it?" I agree with the gentleman that $200 dollars is definitely not enough to get him 2000 miles to Arizona.
      I believe he was car-jacked, mugged, or something like that, near where he lives or near his home or hometown, and someone took his car for a joy ride across country and then pulled over maybe acting like they were broke down and possibly car-jacked someone else to get out of the desert. They probably took the plate and left a fake note to throw people off. I believe he is still near his hometown I would focus my search around the area he was last seen and start going all around looking at security cameras from houses banks gas stations and try and get a location on where his cell phone pinged at last?
      It would also be interesting to find out like the lady said if they did any forensics on the car like fingerprints hair and fiber collection. Don't they have a way to track the GPS history on vehicles now?
      But of course like every one else my thoughts are just a theory, but I hope he is found safe.

  • @angtxsun4460
    @angtxsun4460 29 дней назад +5

    It seems pretty clear that he left and didn’t want to be tracked to be found. How old is he, I didn’t hear. He looks like he is in his twenties? He still lives at home- plays guitar and video games- no prospects for the future?
    - didn’t show up for work
    - took cash
    - turned phone off
    - took license plates off
    I think he walked away into the desert where the car was left.
    Can his Mom id the note to be sure he wrote it?
    I feel for the family- my son is 22 and I would be insane if my son was missing.

    I'm unsure why my comment was removed moments ago after I shared the comparison to McCandless? You can do better than that, NewsNation. So, I'll say it again. This sounds like a copycat case of Christopher McCandless. McCandless drove from the east some 2,000 miles; abandoned his car in the Arizona desert; removed the plates; and left a note on his car which read "whoever finds the car can keep it - it's a good car". Reckon they should compare both cases because so far according to what's being shared on this story, the steps he's taken so far are identical to McCandless, all the way down to the written words "it's a good car".

    • @selecttravelvacations7472
      @selecttravelvacations7472 5 месяцев назад

      Unlikely it was not NewsNation but the AI that rules YT. No need to go off on them. I don’t think they even monitor comments here. If you used a word on “the list” it would have been an automatic removal. This happens to me frequently now. I even got a notice last month that I’d been flagged for “Hate speech” and no matter how far I go back through my comments, I can’t find any “hate speech”. They won’t even tell you what you said to be flagged. As to McCandless, I kept thinking that this story seemed familiar, now I know why. Do you know if they disappeared in the same general area in AZ? That would be curious.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with the missing Indigenous People or the people who keep coming up missing from camping and river areas. I don't know if it's the same person or 2 different serial killers, because the circumstances are so similar in a lot of these cases. The cases happen near reservations and wildlife areas. They always find the car and sometimes it looks like an accident, but it's not. There's over 5,000 missing Indigenous, alone. We have a couple of young people missing from our little town too. I’m a person who have struggles with depression for most of my life but that doesn’t mean I would leave my car in a strange place thousands of miles from my home and walk away from everyone I love. I would never do that. I find that when a person struggles with depression and goes missing it is automatically assumed by law enforcement that they simply walked away from their life and that nothing nefarious took place. That makes me mad because most times that is not case. This assuming people with depression just up and walk away from their lives needs to stop.

Unfortunately, that cover missing people and 9 × 510. If someone has suffered depression at 1 point in their life, they're often dismissed if they go missing. Oh, they went and committed suicide, they went and did this. Maura, Murray is a classic example. How many decades has she been missing? And there's clear foul play and for the years, she was dismissed as a student of troubled issues that just walked away in the snowy woods. It's so unfortunate how in this country, if you go missing your family unless have the resources and the time and strength to fight, you probably will never be found unless it's coincidental, very sad

It seems to me that he was seeming 'happy' in his final days because he knew he wanted to enjoy his last days on earth and sometimes suicidal people are happiest when the weight of the world is gone and they make their final decision to let it all go.

    Hi, this is the first time I've watched your show, although I've watched many other NN shows and reports and whatnot. I've had a number of questions and thoughts pop into my head regarding this man, Broanian McGillis. How much money did he frequently have on his person as a rule? 0$, !0$, 50 or 100 $$$ ?? A Hyundai Accent gets about 38 mpg on the highway, about 32 mpg combined. 2,000 miles divided by 38 is about 53 gallons approx. would be required. The Mid-West average price per gallon in December 2023 , as best as I can find, was about $3.00 - $3.50. So that would be between $159 - $185 cost for gas to go those 2,000 miles. Oh and let's also assume he had at least a half tank to full tank of gas to start with. So add how much money he potentially had already and the $200 he withdrew from a cash machine, I think he would have likely had the funds to make the trip, get food, enter the Grand Canyon Nat'l Park and continue on his way. An individual can easily drive those 2,000 miles in 4 days and 3 days with some determination. I have a number of other thoughts and observations regarding this matter. I would be happy to expound and hypothesize further if you wish, but will only do so if you respond positively. Best Wishes to All and especially this young man and his Mother and family.

    • @intrepidsoul9871
      @intrepidsoul9871 5 месяцев назад +8

      Okay, here's a few questions that probably only the Mother can answer. What clothes was he wearing at the time he went "missing"? Are there any clothes that appear to be missing or unaccounted for? Did he have any "Precious" or "Meaningful" trinkets, memorabilia or "Special" items that meant a lot to him or had good memories associated with a specific item? Are they accounted for or is one or more missing? Did he take one of his guitars with him or did he take an alternative musical instrument that might be smaller and easier to transport than a guitar" Are there any clothes missing, perhaps a favorite pair of pants, a shirt or jacket ? Are all of his clothes accounted for? Has he ever borrowed money from friends or family ?
      Today's World is All About Surveillance, there are cameras of every type out there in our daily lives. We can't go anywhere anymore without getting recorded somewhere and somehow. The roads that his car took to get all the way to Arizona had to have literally hundreds of cameras take his picture while he was in his car driving. Find him in the archives of those cities and agencies that operate those cameras, first of all. Then once his exact or most probable route is known see if there are an images of him in his car on the roads and see if there is anyone else in the car with him.
      If he did indeed go into the Grand Canyon Nat'l Park there are cameras galore, there. Did he meet or interact with anyone while in the Park? I could go much deeper but these are just a few of the things that came immediately to my mind after watching this report. Why is no one in a place to investigate this, like the FBI, doing anything ? This whole thing has a foul smell associated with it and it's not getting any easier to stomach, if you know what I mean. Best Wishes to you Marni, the Mother and Family and all who read this. 😎👍

Somehow his car was scanned twice the entire distance he traveled, once going West on I-74 in Illinois on Dec 21st around 5:30pm (7:30pm EST), then it was scanned again in Las Vegas on Christmas day, both times it was scanned they could not tell who was driving the car. Anything is possible here if he is the type of person who was on disability had his own income and could be easily manipulated someone could have asked him to lend him $200 and that's why he went to the bank.
      Secondly it could have been more than one person that did this but whoever wrote that note could have written it so that in hopes that somebody would take the car and get it off the road thinking that if they offered the car up for free and anybody could take it someone would easily take it.
      Also if he did live in Maryland in the southern part near route 13, on the Delmarva peninsula that car would have had to travel either over the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel south of the Delmarva peninsula or the Chesapeake bridge in the North part of Maryland. If that's the case then dated timestamp of travels. If only the police would have investigated this. Of course it could have been tracked. Another thing is you can go into a phone and most likely track house someone traveled. Most people do not know how to set their phones so that Google does not track them.

I do have a great understanding of depression and anxiety that can affect you so deeply that you feel you want to disappear and unburden the world of you. There is no medication in this world that fixes a person’s past that helped too create the darkness of being deeply depressed. Faith, hope and love if you let it in is what helps with healing it , medicine just camouflages it and can make it worse and even dangerous if you stop taking it, I don’t anything and I pray for this man it’s not easy being you all the time.
