Fantastic series! Would you consider doing a short video demonstrating/illustrating how you're working the cheb weighted worms for the various species you're catching?
@@DevonLerfer I'd appreciate it! I'm struggling to hone in on the species we have here in the SF bay. I get bit very inconsistently, and when I do it feels accidental. Perhaps raw longer cast to catch clips, over the podcast on RUclips maybe?
@@DevonLerfer I agree wholeheartedly., it's what lights my fire and indeed what makes us all enthusiasts.....its the wanting to know what's down there.
Loving the video. Can't stop watching it. We have a few of those species here in Cape Town. I have only caught 1 sand steenbras here and that was on fly. About to watch it again for the 5th time...😊
@DevonLerfer I worked out that the one spot I fish has close to 40 species... so yeah...Really enjoying the klipfish, you will see some in my latest video. They are plentiful here and really aggressive. lots of bream species too as well as sea catfish and predatory fish too.
Nice little saddled bream, big ones are at the bay of figs on crust along the right hand side. Them poisonous rabbit fish are very strong fighters but extremely painful if you catch the dorsal fin.
@@jonemery8324 I had some slightly better saddled bream last year but haven't really worked the bream out yet, in general 😅 yes I was very wary of the rabbitfish, great fighters for their size though as you say!
Had some nice saddled bream from Aphrodites rock as well. Coral bay would be productive on lures as it holds a good size of fish there too. The two striped bream are normally found in deeper water and grow a nice size. I am surprised you have had no garfish or Saupe yet ..
Great video mate! It's just a shame the med has has almost been wiped out of the bigger species leaving not much else but the mini species, one consolation though it's created great LRF fishing 😎🎣👍
@@damianowens5066 thanks mate, yeah I think that's why pretty much everything I read before I came to Cyprus suggested the fishing was pretty poor. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with the LRF gear 🙂🎣
@@DevonLerfer Cyprus is at the far end of the Med unfortunately, the fishing does get better towards Gibraltar but not much it's like everywhere in Europe including the UK it's been battered! (excuse the pun! Lol) 🙄🤦♂️😥🎣👍
@damianowens5066 yeah although I think the invasive species added some welcome variety for me, despite them not being welcome 😅 I personally found Tenerife harder going!
Good job again :) i really enjoy your videos especially the Cyprus Series. i wish you all the best. I just got the 5G aji do based on your recommendation. i will take it out for a spin tomorrow :)
@@FishNLuresCY thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the Cyprus series, hopefully I can come back to do another series soon 😁 great to hear you went for the 5G, I look forward to seeing how you get on with it! Good luck! 🎣
Amazing video quality and perfect prep for my vacation! Do you have any recommendations for good fishing places near or in Paphos from shore? I hope to catch my first false albacore, bluerunner or all the different mackerel types!
@Tukanoss thank you! The area around Paphos harbour itself looks interesting although I've not fished it myself. I was staying in Kissonerga which isn't far from Paphos and just worked my way along the coastline there. I think the key to success (and variety) is just to keep moving and trying different areas. Hope you have a great vacation and catch your targets! 🤞🎣
Great video again, lovely to see the variety with the Red Sea Goatfish being my favourite. I read your comments about the clips, but, it looked sometimes as though you tied the Cheb directly to the line, is that right or were the clips tiny please?
@@bassblanker5359 thank you! The goatfish were one of my favourites too, they fight hard for their size and are a lovely looking fish. You are correct, I actually prefer fishing without a clip if I'm fishing little chebs and jigheads, I feel that less is definitely more when finesse fishing!
Can I ask what brand are the little clips you use? I've tried a few of those style and have found all of them next to impossible to use. Loved this series BTW. Been in Cyprus myself a couple of weeks back and didn't do anywhere near as well as you 😂
@@stuartday3232 have you tried the Decoy Light Game Clips Magbite Hang Clips, I struggle with the little clips too but find those very user friendly. I think the other, smaller ones I'm using in this video are some I got from NineSevenTungsten, they are great for the really finesse stuff. Glad you enjoyed the videos, I had the advantage of scoping the place out last year and some helpful advice from a couple of Cypriot anglers. Oh and a very understanding wife 😅
@@lawrenceking9746 I know what you mean, it was difficult to find somewhere in Tenerife but Cyprus seems a little more relaxed about these things, thankfully!
