Someday you should reveal your head in a video but you should be wearing a paper bag on your head that will make your videos even more awesome the viewers will for ever be thinking about that
I like how this guy actually restores stuff instead of just replacing 80% of the components
Thank you!:)
He understands the meaning of the word "Restoration" frankly i came here to see a restoration, if it was a parts replacement video, i would have left.

The chainsaw's name is "Дружба", Friendship. The best friend of a man is a tool
This has the same energy as naming a sword kindness
Abhi Mayadam No, that’s a distinct, ironic energy, which is equally as powerful.
Abhi Mayadam Idk i think naming a chainsaw friendship has a different, more pure energy than ironically naming a sword kindness
You mean "The best friend of a man is HIS tool"
Yeah, most of my best friends are tools as well ;)

Sir, your videos have saved myself from near death experiences. You can't imagine how much some videos have an impact on other people, whilst they are in the dark you can help to bring some relief thank you for you sharing this.

(me) takes apart, loses half the parts, can't remember how goes together, injures self on rusty blade, in hospital for tetanus shop, wife tells me "I told you so!"
:D My son recently put a saucepan on an electric stove, poured water, poured salt and flour and cooked his toy model car there, says: "I'm like dad" :)
@vaults4life No, you are exactly correct. I would have never taken a laptop apart in the past. But, now I find vids showing tear downs (often because someone is doing a cpu swap or resoldering on a power connector). Immensely helpful. I know some mechanics, but an engine tear-down the way this guy did is beyond me. But, watching this guy do it makes me see how it's done. It's that fear of the unknown that often prevents folks. But, once they see how it's done (and an expert gives them advice on where all the pitfals and shortcuts are) then it seems doable. And, doing it on old kit like this doesn't feel bad, b/c if you screw it up..well, it was screwed up to begin with. But, I love these resto vids, b/c they make me feel like I could give it a go if I found stuff like this. Informative and entertaining. So, you are spot-on.
Where did I heard that before??🤔

Nothing like knowing that no matter where you are in the world there is someone else that respects their country, theirs roots, their heritage and the technology that got them where they are today good to see old technology get a new lease on life even if it's just a show piece instead of the work horse of yesteryear
Which goes to show that the average person in most countries are very little different from each other; it is the politicians which cause all the strife.
...and its 2.00 a clock in the night... this is crazy!???!?
Too true. Our governments want to start fights (or, more recently, be uncomfortably friendly), but the rest of us are just trying to live and connect and understand and look at some chainsaws.

Thank you!:)
You can watch three things forever: fire burning, water flowing, and someone working
People call this relaxing to see and hear
But am like *HOW THE HELL DOES HE REMEMBER WHERE THE PICES GO?!*
I approximately remembered during disassembly :)
I guess filming yourself taking it apart acts as a handy backup to see where things went.
you are literally watching how he remembers where all the pieces go
heaven forbid some part of the disassembly is out of frame.
If this is your job or main hobbie. As i am a small engine mechanic. Everything has an order, you simply have to remember. Having a chainsaw ran over. Disassembling it. Ordering the parts waiting two weeks while it sits in a box in pieces then reassembling it in under thirty minutes. It's tricky but if you understand how it works. And you know how it comes apart. Its like clock work.

Ok, that was some seriously cool ghetto-galvanisation.
Thin but effective. I have a huge 7lb bar of Zinc. Waiting to use it for that purpose. I was thinking about doing in to the axle and other parts of the truck. Do you think I could do this with everything still mounted on the truck? I know I would have to bring the Cathode close to where I am working on the body.
@John Chrysostom I am bad at explaining. But hypothetically isn't it possible to quickly coat over a part of the frame? Yes- while its on the wheels? Current goes to the nearest ground and much like welding too. So I didnt/dont see why it isn't plausible to ghetto coat? (Naturally I'd take off what I can yeah)In fact I am Oxide coating some bolts and parts now in a pan.
That's EXACTLY the way I thought a Soviet chainsaw would look like.

I thought they were so .... well, interesting, and I always believed in learning everything possible about political systems and cultures before claiming you do not agree, AND ALSO, I discount politics. It is the PEOPLE AND CULTURE I love to study! ANd Russia and its people are magnificent. I always found their approach to building and engineering machinens and airplans/tanks/tractors, ect really cool. And yes, I loved their paint schemes better than ours, they 'fit' the era of the 50's 60's and 70's and even 80's better than the western countries. TEal and orange was a good look for this saw. Loved it, but Great Idea... You did a stellar job. You're talented man. Truly gifted!!!! Hard working too. God bless, and carry on, I love you work!

In Russia angle grinder called - болгарка [ bolgarka ] :)
Bulgarian, but it mean like a woman from Bulgaria. =))
Despite the name on the box - "uglo shlifoval'naya mashina (U.SH.M)" or angle grinder.
The first copies of such machines came to the Soviet Union from the then friendly Bulgaria, where they were made. According to the habit of the people, a long and inconvenient name was tried to be shortened. As a result, a new word - "bolgarka" - became firmly in use.
