    You really made some amazing progress stitching in parked threads on the stitching shelf. I love seeing how each little section takes shape as you focus on different areas. I would not be brave enough to attempt to jump around on a piece like that. Happy stitching!

    Hello! I don't stitch full coverage pieces or fancy ladies, but I love seeing your progress every week! I am happy that you were able to record in your stitching spot this week for selfish reasons. My eyes were drawn to your Narnia books because mine are next to me on my bookshelf. But then I noticed the book next to it! I read Stepping Heavenward many years ago ( 20 or so) and then loaned it out. I never got it back! Seeing your copy prompted me to order a copy. Thank you for the unintentional book recommendation! Hope you have a wonderful week!

      Wonderful! I'm glad I could help! I read that book once in college, and again a couple of years ago when my church ladies read it for a Summer Book Club. I think it'll be a good one to reread about every 15-20 years - next time I read it my daughter can read it with me as she ventures out into womanhood. :)

    QS Iris is soooo close for a finish! It's very exciting to see the progress and being almost at the end. 🤗
    I'm planning to join you with the Mirabilia Maynia. I have at least 4 ready to start or continue with. So, we'll see how much time I have to give them some love. 😊 Even the idea of finally starting them gives me already happy thoughts. 😃 Thanks for your flosstube. Kind regards, Guylaine

    Hello! I always love watching your stitching, finishes and plans. This May I decided to start French Alphabet by The Sweetheart Tree. Since it is the whole alphabet I am not sure if I will work on one letter every two days or one letter a day. It is a beautiful alphabet. I will love to vote on your Mira’s! What fun! Happy stitching!

      That's a good idea! I enjoyed starting the Advent Animals - one new one every day for 25 days in July. Alphabet projects would be similarly fun. I have a Drawn Thread alphabet piece I was given that would be a fun project to start. I'm still figuring out the best plan to tackle that one. :)

    Love to see all your projects! On the Mill Hill, you may find that you will need to do a full cross stitch on the petite beads or too much of the background will show through. I love Mill Hill kits and have made a bunch of the Christmas tree ornaments.

    7:45 Your Welcoming & Cheerful looks beautiful.
    9:40 Mill Hill I started MH’s when they were all beads, no threads. I’m working on Love Coffee, which is like your beautiful. I’m curious to see how you will decide to attach the beads.
    23:15 so not parking. Are you going to run the thread out to end then?
    28:00 His Name is Jesus, I signed up for the free chart when you first spoke of it. Now to get started.

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад +1

      Yes, when I switch over from not parking on a project, I'll choose the first hanging thread and stitch with that symbol as far as I can reasonably go until the thread runs out. Then on to the next thread! :)

    It is good to see you back "at home." You have a new stitching chair, and a new picture on the wall, right? The progress on the QS Iris is wonderful! I am going to have to stitch this one - Iris was my mom's name and she loved the flower. Looking forward to your Fancy Ladies!

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      Yes, I believe it is a new chair since I filmed in this location before. The picture on the wall has been there for longer I think, but my camera angle was slightly different before, so maybe it didn't show as much.

    I’ve gotten pattern keeper to work for several non-full-coverage pieces, so that’s been so nice when it works for those too! I seem to have the most trouble with sampler style charts where there’s a lot of white space. I haven’t tried using the camera feature yet to import a chart. All I know is I’m now spoiled with pattern keeper, and the thought of using a paper chart seems so daunting 😂

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      Yes! That's partly why I have dialed back my time on Mirabilias. I suppose entering them into Pattern Keeper manually might help because then I could at least mark off what I've been stitching. I have become super spoiled with the symbol search & highlight feature of compatible charts, that I wonder if it's worth the bother of importing a paper pattern. I don't normally mark off my stitches on Mirabilias, but I might try seeing if that will help rekindle some love and attention for them. :)

    Wow great progress on the stitching shelf last week! Since you are skipping around on that piece now, do you ever worry about missing a stitch or having a hard time fitting the last stitch in an area in? I have a HAED on 28ct and I have been doing the meticulous diagonal stitching on it. I'd like to work up the courage to skip around a bit to escape the background!

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      It does get thick in the heavy confetti areas, but I'm still able to get my needle through. Pattern Keeper also helps me keep track of what I'm doing and helps me make sure I'm catching all the ninja stiches (stitches that are left all by themselves). :)

      Yes! I got a new chair because my old one was breaking. I miss that one though, so when this one bites the dust, I'll probably try to get another one like that red one. :)

    So you decided not to park? Are you happy with cross country? You keep in postal tubes?

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      Since I have started using the app Pattern Keeper for my full coverage patterns, I much prefer cross country. The app highlights the symbol you're working on, and my desire is just to follow wherever the color goes, rather than park and move on to another color. I am still parking on my April Fairy because I'm stitching that one with a unique method and I'm still enjoying the process.
      I keep my projects rolled up in tubes because that's how I stitch on them. I have them rolled up from the bottom and I hold the roll in my left hand while stitching with the stabbing method with my right hand. So, when I'm done stitching, I just roll them back up all the way and put them in a tube. The tubes that I use are either recycled from packages that stitching fabric comes from in the craft stores, wrapping paper tubes, or created out of cardstock.

    Is there a specific reason why you're moving away from doing parked threads? Or is it one of those things where over time you're just like, "Yeah I don't like doing it that way anymore." Lol

    • @KyleStitchingInSound
      @KyleStitchingInSound 3 года назад

      Also that Teresa Wentzler is looking STUNNING! God bless you for doing it on an MCG Textiles fabric lol.

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  3 года назад

      Ever since I started using Pattern Keeper, I can't seem to keep myself from wanting to stitch cross country. I see those symbols highlighted and I just have to follow them wherever they go! :D It can also be a bother to show pieces when there are parked threads, but previously to PK, the benefit of parking outweighed that inconvenience.
      There are some MCG Textiles fabric that I don't mind. Some, granted, is uneven and causes the design to look squished, but some colors/counts are okay. I would often measure the fabric through the package in the store before I bought it, to make sure it was an okay piece. All of my seasonal Mirabilia queens are on MCG 32ct linen, which has never been a problem for me. And this 28ct Light Blue evenweave is fine. The 28ct Antique White evenweave seems to be the worst one, but cheapskate me has even used that one before! :P
