It is beautiful. I discovered a recomposition by Peter Gregson of all the cello suites. Especially the recomposition of suite 4: the Bourrées, I think is wonderful. I am curious if you like it too. ruclips.net/video/2iFX4tm20IE/видео.html
I love this piece. I have heard it many times before, but I never realized it was part of Bach's Cello Suites. For anybody who cares, if you've ever played Civilization IV, this song makes an appearance.
*shhh* After 8 months I can't say that I do not think that this is any less lovely as before. Splendid performance and I still love the acoustics of the room. Perfect for Bach performances.
I have been playing these suites for 40 years and I can now hear single accidental differences between Maiety and my versions, derived from some edition whose name I forget.
I am a bass player, but as melodic instruments go, the cello may be my favourite. It has the best range of the stringed instruments. Notes that are too high can sound shrill, and notes that are too low can be difficult to make out clearly.
@severelyaddictedgal me too. I used to play it when was 6, but to family stuff, had to quit as I went to another country. Now I play a guitar, and a violin kinda, But I want a cello more, coz it synchronizes with my personality more
It's times like these that make it so I wish I played the cello instead of the double bass.. then I remember that bass is better! Haha! Beautiful interpretation, few mistakes, LOVE the acoustics of the room. :)
@calebandrewmichael It's seriously upsetting when someone makes such a statement as lizzie. I have to say the same thing all the time. Why can't people just appreciate both genres for the skill regardless of whether or not they enjoy the sound?
@lizzie11377 False. I play in a post hardcore band, and it's alot more difficult than people think. Believe it or not, there is a technique for screaming. Do it wrong and you can actually mess up your insides. Also the technicalities in the drumming, guitar, bass, and every other aspect of the genera are very complex and complicated. Saying the statement you just stated is like saying "cello? Oh you just drag the bow across the strings and move your fingers up and down the strings."

That Bourree II is one of the most beautiful melodies I've heard. The true genius is in simplicity.
Eric Lopez Agree totally! One of my favorite movements in the Bach cello suites, and Maisky plays it beautifully.
Yeah, it really is a beautiful little melody. Maisky and Rostropovich play it so well. I enjoy it anyway.

fully agree with you
3:20 this is one of the reasons why the 4th is my favorite cello suite.
Absolutely 💯
Just captures a happy yet absolutely melancholy side to things which I see instantiated in life all around me.
3:20 Bourree II
bourreeII ' is the most beautiful Ive ever heard .
heyyyyyyyy from teh furtor, 12 years ahead
Love the passion that he displays, instead of just being a stiff performer.
i love it so much :) alle these suites played by him make me so emotional. he's the best.
I love this piece. I have heard it many times before, but I never realized it was part of Bach's Cello Suites.

Beautiful. Reminds me of listening to this while having a coffee on a nice white overcast day here in california. ahh. peace...
this is my favorite bach's suites , I like very much the part II
I'd have to say that the Bourree II makes me want to cry. But only if I start with the first Bourree
*shhh*

Learning these movements together as a two mallet marimba solo currently, so beautiful

Wonderful playing ! Always my favourite piece
hey, from 17 years

C'est bell ;)
Let's just be honest. Everyone here is for Bourree 2 lol.
I'm here for the entire thing
what year is from this recording? Please!
@Thequestionablegamer If you hate the cello, try the violin or the viola... and buy it yourself...
Si, estoy de acuerdo. El es un buen tocador, y todos se equivocan a veces, incluyendo los profesionales.
From what year is this recording??? Please!!!
As far as I know this is part of suite IV
@guyclark1958 Not really sure ( ) is used that way.
@SuperBonsoir thats true. for death metal, you need to take a person with sensitive ears, bang a guitar with the amp on, and record their scream :D
It's times like these that make it so I wish I played the cello instead of the double bass.. then I remember that bass is better! Haha!
Beautiful interpretation, few mistakes, LOVE the acoustics of the room. :)
what do you mean "few" mistakes, he made absolutely none in all 6 suites in this recording

the music is great but his hair is an added bonus

What size bass do you use, do you use long bows, and how long have you've been playing.

It's Canon in D, but Mozart's version of it.

the suites sound bettr on a bass imo
wait, everything sounds better on a bass
U@^^%
@moneyquickeasy You know what I mean: people so wrapped up in classical being the only good music that they see everything else as inferior.
Thats Canon in D by Pachelbel playing I think
Ⓥ Greetings Fellow Earthling Ⓥ that is not Canon in D I promise
