Good review of the newer Heritage. I have to disagree with your comments about the windshield possibly causing a wobble in side winds etc. I have a 2016 Heritage and just completed a 1200 + mile ride where I encountered heavy side winds and many passing 18 wheelers. I experienced no wobble and no "mooshiness." I traded my Ulta Limited for the Heritage and have found that, with the addition of fork wind deflectors, the wind protection is very close to that experienced with a batwing fairing. Also, I'm 82 years old and the lighter weight of the Heritage is a definite advantage.
That many miles on it, you probably need the check the handlebars for proper fall-away and adjust if too loose. Possibly why you’re feeling the wind a little more than normal
I own a 2018 Heritage since new.... there is no vibration issue at all... also no windshield wind wobble. I have been in 50mph winds and had no trouble with the bike. Don't understand the comment that it's mushy in handling... that is not at all the case!
I bought the 2020 Heritage in vivid black with the 114 motor. Best bike I’ve ever owned. Great for just cruising or touring. I put almost $5K in mods snd upgrades and now it’s perfect for me. Nice shots of you out on the road riding it.
I bought a 23 heritage, and I absolutely love it. I bought it brand new, so I’m having to adjust and add a few different features. You mentioned how quiet it is, and I couldn’t agree more. I don’t like the saddlebags, I think they look too cookie cutter, but that’s strictly preference. All in all, this has been one of the best bikes I’ve owned.
Nice video! I have a 2020 Heritage V107. Its heavy on the chrome and the color is vivid black. I love it and love the fact that you can remove the windshield, saddlebags and rear seat and you have a totally different look. Add some whitewalls and you have a Deluxe.
A do it all motorcycle. Great for touring, back road riding and city riding. You need music Sandy throw on a sena modular and its perfect old school looks with modern amenities
Love my 2022 Heritage traded my RG Special in for it and yes for sure size wise absolutely it’s a cruiser not a touring bike so major size ( weight ) difference however the ride is amazing! Love the monoshock, ride is sweet, I am thinking you may need to give it twist maybe make an adjustment for your weight!! On another note what a fun ride!!!
I have a 2021 Heritage 114. I've not noticed any mushyness. I love the monoshock ride. I agree with the windshield buffeting on the interstate when tractor trailers are around. I've ridden my husband's 2017 Streetglide and when I got back on my Heritage it felt so light and small. Lol😂
2011 Heritage owner here. Enjoyed your review. I have not taken it on a road trip but love it around town. Because of your review, when I sell this one, I'll get a newer one.
I have a 2019 Heritage 114. Love it for my solo riding and use the touring bike when Momma comes along. I have the fork fangs and Memphis Shade hand guards on it. Both make the ride even better.
Bought a 2018 heritage classic 114 a couple months ago and i absolutely love it. Love it on the freeway, love riding it downtown. Absolutely great bike!
Great review , I looked at this bike just before the Pandemic , was looking at Dynas and Fat boys , but this bike caught my eye on the way out the door , think Ill start looking for one , I love the 114 , and understated Black , and subscribed !
Brought my very first Harley last week, tossed up between the Heritage or Lowrider st, ended buying the LRST, just a more modern and sportier ride and a lot more power.
This is an original review based on your real experience and test. Geuine too. Everything observation and understanding you bring in the commentary sounds level and fair, both ways. I have a 48 and park it often next to huge Harleys too. I love how nimble and fit for adventure they are. They look good too.
Spot on with your evaluation, I have a 2014 Heritage with wood 222 cam and complete S&S upgrade cam chest. I’ve ridden my bike from NJ to Colorado , also Canada, and Florida and Tennessee, not at one time but all leaving from NJ. I agree with the wobble, mostly from coming up on a tractor and trailer. Safe travels 🇺🇸👍
The Heritage, just like my Deluxe, comes stock with a suspension best described as "consummate boulevard cruiser!" As you know, Sandy, where we ride here in the Hudson Valley, that cushy suspension just does not cut it. Think NY 97 - Crows Nest, or 44/55 or 106 through Harriman Park. Consider 28 through the Catskills or 8 and 32 through the Adirondacks. Stop light to stop light while bar-hopping and blipping the throttle at every car full of teens is fine, but trail braking through the twisties and your front end will be constantly nose-diving and bottoming. I switched out the front forks for the Legend's and my rear mono-shock is the Progressive 465 heavy duty RAP (remote adjustable preload). That and the Stage II make the bike a super tourer and canyon carver!
I recently purchased a 2022 Reef Blue/Vivid Black Heritage end of September. Have liked the bike since I road tested an early 2018 model October 2017. Did not purchase one at that time cause I don’t care for spoked wheels on a street bike. Viewed a RUclips video August 2022 where MMJ’s friend purchased a 2022 Heritage with cast wheels. I checked Harley’s website and sure enough Harley at that time was offering the Heritage with either spoked OR cast wheels. SIGN ME UP! Plan to ride down to Myrtle Beach this May to visit my brother and attend the rally. Glad you liked the bike, I Sure Do.
Like your honesty and review on the Heritage had 2 then went to touring bikes street glide and presently road glide c v o ...now at 68 looking to go back to a softail...
Great review. I would be happy with either the Heritage or the LRST. Well, actually, the 117 would have a little more appeal for me. Can't wait for the cam build you have planned.
Interesting video - I rode exactly the same bike this summer 1,000 miles from Vegas to Grand Canyon and have similar thoughts. Full disclosure, this was the first HD I had ever ridden, and come from a history of small dirt bikes (Bultacos / Hondas) and British Classics (Royal Enfield, Velocette and Triumph). I had not ridden on the road for several years, so my experience may not be typical. First impressions are fantastic. The look, sound and engine are all great and tick all the boxes. A few issues though. In 1,000 miles, I think I found neutral once. I resorted to holding the clutch with my right hand and fiddling with gear lever by hand. No amount of boot would find it. And that clutch - you guys must have arms like Popeye - why no hydraulic? a big issue, was the side stand, which gave me palpations every time I walked away from the bike. If it fell, it would be expensive, i'd never lift it and if I broke a clutch lever, possibly the end of the trip. You mentioned the wind, which I would agree with. The biggest issue for me was that the bike never made me feel comfortable or confident in it. The tyres seemed to track every tramline in the road, and getting it up to 70 seemed like I was staring the devil in the face. With crosswinds and the size of the fairing (barn door) I held on for dear life and apologies to any bikers that went past and waved, as I didnt always feel confident to let go of the bars and wave back. Downhill camber turns never felt confidence inspiring in the way that perhaps a Honda Transalp or Yamaha Tenere would. I am also so glad I didnt bring a pillion. Its super small, and with the crosswind I would not have felt confident at all. The panniers are ok for a night stop, but one is much smaller than the other and just about adequate. I have never ridden a bike that I both longed to get on (it was gorgeous), but also after a days riding, longed to get off. Would I buy one - definitely not. Would I like to ride one again, yes, but probably as a Town centre / beach cruise rather than any serious travelling. Loved my trip to Nevada , Arizona and Utah. The Harley was a special bike to ride and I fell in love with America. I'll be back - maybe next time on a Honda !
First time on a Harley- it needs some getting used to . It’s a raw bike , not refined! That’s also part of its charm and vibe. As for confidence inspiring- yes it does feel loose and not a tight bike ! Too “ mooshy “ suspension and tires….
I wonder if the mushy you described has to do with it being a soft tail? I’ve never ridden one, but I’ve heard they ride somewhat differently… just a thought. Super review! I’m toying with downsizing a bit from my Ultra to a Heritage, and this was very informative. As you said, it’s the standard “look” of a Harley!
I love my 2022 Heritage. It's better then the 2017 Street Glide that I traded in on it. I had that bike for 5 years and this one for about 4 months. I already have a lot of miles on this one, more then I had on the Street glide in the same time. I just got a back rest because I had one on my Street Glide and got spoiled. I also put the engine guards on it. It's suck a sweet ride.
I've got a '19 Heritage 114 with a Stage 1 upgrade. Sounds terrific but doesn't annoy the neighbors. I don't notice any mush or clunk, but I've had it so long maybe I'm used to it. The bike is over 700 lbs so I wouldn't call it light. But it handles nimbly, the weight isn't a drawback. We can say that about all the softails, probably. The windscreen on the 19 is too high. If it rains I can't see over the top of it. It looked like the screen on the 21 was shorter, as they all should be. I like my Heritage quite a lot. I don't need a touring model so if I did want a new bike, I'd go for the 120th anniversary model Heritage, with the brilliant red fade color scheme. But I don't want a new one this year! Maybe next year?
I have a 2018 Anniversary and it's still stock except for the seat and front brake rotor. I love the bike but it needs a much better front brake. I also have a 2022 Low Rider st and if I had to give one up it would be a difficult decision.
That's so funny you notice a wobble with that bike. I have a 22 heritage and i keep telling the dealer i have a bad front end wobble. I think there is something going on with these softtails, i really don't even feel comfortable taking my bike on long trips because the wobble is so bad
I owned a 1994 Heritage and my wife and I put 65,000 miles on it. We bought a 2010 Heritage and put 22,000 miles on it before trading for a 2021 Tri Glide Ultra that we have just over 8,000 miles on. I love the Heritage but at 70 years old I was having a little problem with two up and loaded down with travel gear that makes a two wheel top heavy. We are loving the Trike and have spent over $5000 on upgrades. I have a friend that rides an Ultra Classic and with his wife on the back is starting to have some issues when traveling and a top heavy bike. I doubt he will ever own a trike. Just hope he can keep it up in sand, gravel and stuff like that. It seems that HD is selling more and more touring bikes and trikes. Just me talking but It would not surprise me to see them discontinue the Heritage in near future. It seems people are wanting the GPS and radio stuff and farings. Just my opinion.
I'll be 70 this year. The reason I traded in my 2017 Street Glide for my 2022 Heritage Is because it was so top heavy. I can whip the Heritage around like butter. It's perfect for me and my use. Oh yes I'm single.
Great looking bike. That crashbar is a good idea, because you will drop it sometimes in future for sure. And my best buy was also the HD adjustable backrest for sure.👍
Thank you for the review, nicely done. I loved my 99 Heritage. The solidly mounted evo provided chassis feedback that made HD famous. Too bad that it is now lost. Anyway, I’d buy a new Heritage today, save for the single front brake. The Road King would be my choice, but god almighty…HD put the Road King in the ugly machine. That’s one uglyfied bike.
Sandy, do you wear the ear plugs often when you ride? Do you find that it helps much with the wind and noise? I’m finding that my hearing is taking a beating these days when I ride and I’ve been considering them.
I have noticed a bit of that wobble at higher highway speeds, not so much on the open rode but you feel it more when passing large trucks where the wafting can be more noticeable. Not a deal breaker at all, I love it, but a slightly higher windshield would help with that.

I ride this bike since 2020 and really love it. But, when using the windshield, the buffeting effect is unbearable ...just like someone keep hitting my head. A little less with full helmet but...I don't know

Hello! I have a 2019 Heritage 114 what mods did you do?
Very good, informative review, from an experienced rider. Thinking to buy a 2024, and this helps me decide.
I bought a 23 heritage, and I absolutely love it. I bought it brand new, so I’m having to adjust and add a few different features. You mentioned how quiet it is, and I couldn’t agree more. Yes it is - a great bike !
You can adjust the suspension really easy under the seat to fit your weight. No more mushy.
You can literally see the adjuster on the side of the bike.
Nice video! I have a 2020 Heritage V107. Its heavy on the chrome and the color is vivid black. I love it and love the fact that you can remove the windshield, saddlebags and rear seat and you have a totally different look. Add some whitewalls and you have a Deluxe.

22 heritage, so far 15000 miles, quick as hell, smooth as silk, and so maneuverable, love it.
2011 Heritage owner here. Enjoyed your review. I have not taken it on a road trip but love it around town. Because of your review, when I sell this one, I'll get a newer one.
Thanks
My girl owns a 2018 Heritage Classic. Same color. Her dream motorcycle. Perhaps its the way you ride friend? She wouldn't trade it for anything.

I think it’s a classic looking Harley and very versatile. I think it looks so small compared to John’s because he’s two inches over stock on a RG
Yeah John’s 2 inch rise makes the RG taller . But the overall size difference is noticeable
Right on!👍🏻
That bike is awesome 😎 however I wish Harley will bring the softail Deluxe

Just bought a 23 Heritage first item I ordered. Good job😎
What is the first item you ordered?

Excellent review I'm curious about your mushy feeling that you had did you adjust the mono shock to your weight before you went on your run?
Thanks for your honesty
Always!
@@HOLYSHIFT that’s hard to find these days.
I got my bike last week and completely agree with the wabble or pushing back feeling.

Its not the tires, its the rear shock. It needed to be adjusted stiffer.
👍🏻
I enjoyed my 20 Heritage... very nimble machine. The first thing I ditched was the fugly saddlebags. With my Mustang seat, it was a nicer rider.

Bravo, great review, especially riding comparison with LRST is the bull's eye 😉
Love the old school look of the Heritage. Would love to trade in the Fat Bob and build a sleeper 122 Heritage with upgraded suspension and brakes.
Here I go just bought a 2023 120 annaviersty Ultra. Now already thinking in a few years I'm going to the Heritage in Black come on ride to the end 🎉🎉🎉
Like your honesty and review on the Heritage had 2 then went to touring bikes street glide and presently road glide c v o ...now at 68 looking to go back to a softail...
Yes , definitely much more suitable for easier manageable riding! No need for a heavy bagger to enjoy wind in your face. ! 💪🏻🤙🏼
Why are you thinking of going back to a soft tail?
The heritage is a beauty ..I need every model

Nice review
Heritage great around town and shorter trips buy a glide if you travel a lot.glides are big and slightly heavier better suspension made for long trips
HD X350 Came out for the indian market , time to fly over and check it out my Dude .
Great looking bike. That crashbar is a good idea, because you will drop it sometimes in future for sure. And my best buy was also the HD adjustable backrest for sure.👍
Question: I just bought the 2022 heritage; is it possible to instal a pilot backrest on the original saddle?
Stock Suspension on Heritage Classic 114 vs a Touring HD is much better. I have not experienced the Wobble
Thank you for the review, nicely done. I loved my 99 Heritage. The solidly mounted evo provided chassis feedback that made HD famous. Too bad that it is now lost. 21,200 plus Harley fees and tax on a heritage, nuts
What's the horsepower and torque rating?
which helmet are you rocking?
Sandy, do you wear the ear plugs often when you ride? Do you find that it helps much with the wind and noise? I’m finding that my hearing is taking a beating these days when I ride and I’ve been considering them.
I don’t wear ear plugs when I wear my full face helmet . I do use earplugs when I go with my Half helmet. Truth is I should always use them
Side by side, what a difference! However John did get a +2 on his bike, so a little unfair. Still a good size difference
True !
Stock It's setup for around 180 pound rider I had mine setup for my weight and riding style
solid bike for sure nice ride
I have noticed a bit of that wobble at higher highway speeds, not so much on the open rode but you feel it more when passing large trucks where the wafting can be more noticeable. Not a deal breaker at all, I love it, but a slightly higher windshield would help with that.
Clunky shifting? Adjust clutch properly at clutch and handlebar lever. Put LUCAS syn motorcycle oil, safe for clutches 10/40 in primary.
What bike is your pick for a 2,000 mile trip?

It took Harley engineers many years to perfect a machine that can make alot of noise and rumble like a earthquake.
The road glide looks way bigger because the tires are way bigger
So I take it!! It’s very MUUUSSSSSHHHIEEE‼️🤣🤣
Lose the music
Cool.
ANOTHER ALL BLACK MENNONITE BIKE!!
It would have been better if you focused the camera on the bike, and not yourself. Would get to check it out more
Of course, it is mushy riding - that's why it's called a softail.. you can't ride a bike that beats the heck out of you
How can you review a bike when you know nothing about it? Like how much fuel it take to fill tank?
I just did ! First impressions
yooooooooo
I ride this bike since 2020 and really love it.
But, when using the windshield, the buffeting effect is unbearable ...just like someone keep hitting my head.
