You talked me into this bike. At 75 yrs old and still riding, I found my 06 Electra Glide too heavy and needed something lighter without sacrificing windshield and luggage. So I traded it in for a 2019 Heritage Classic, blacked out with the 114.The suspension is absolutely fantastic and the ride so comfortable. Now if I can just get the speedo/tach to stop fogging up, it'll be perfect. Thanks again for the video.

Great review! I have the 114 version of this bike, same color, and I love it. I like that it is both sporty and touring capable. I like riding the twisties with it and I do long distance touring. That’s exactly why I like the old school bikes. They’re timeless. They give off the quintessential feeling of the Harley roots. 30 years from now when you walk up to say a mid 2000 Heritage sitting next to a mid 2000’s Road Glide, you’ll look at the road glide and say look at all this old technology, like we look at old 8 tracks. Look at all this stuff I’m going to have to replace. On the Heritage it will be exactly how it was off the assembly line….timeless.

The tech on the Street Glides and Road Glides is already out of date. I mean who need a great big heavy fairing full of heavy speakers and a tv screen high up on the front of a bike messing up the handling when all the same and better functions can be had from a smart phone and blue tooth to your helmet. Music and navigation with out the weight. And if you use google maps for navigation on your phone you get real time live traffic and route information where the Harley Davidson navigation is based on old maps that only update via a download to a computer and USB the the HD 'infotainment' system. The suspension on the swinging arm Harley's is also out dated and gives a rough ride compared to the softtails. The shark nose and bat wing fairings do keep the wind off and they look good but they could be a third of the weight they are without all that obsolete tech.

Riding my “old man” 1986 Evo Heritage softtail classic, very happily. Previously owned a 2007 Ultra Classic, hotrodded 110” . Rode that one across Canada and back. It was great, but I truly love this Heritage softtail more. It doesn’t handle as well, not nearly as fast, ride comfort isn’t in the same class, but it does what I want. Can’t wipe the smile off my face every time I ride. Love the stock 80” Evo, great sound, and I never used the radio on the Ultra anyway so I don’t miss it. Harley music, at a relaxed pace. I’ve been riding since 1971, and the nostalgia , with reliability of this bike is worth thousands more than its purchase price.

After the bike I went to look at didn't quite fit me, and I must say love this bike it's everything you say in your video a some after years on Kawasaki sport bikes & even the Mean Streak. This Harley is so well balanced, comfortable, and great for a big guy. The 107 is a very strong engine the 114 maybe stronger but this 107 is not lacking in the power department. For an older person like myself with a service-related disability, the bike is so light and easy to maneuver. My wife rides with me the majority of the time, and she finds it to be a comfortable ride. I purchased a thicker cushioned passenger seat for her, and she loves it. I returned from a 7-week tour of Portugal last summer on my Heritage, fancying a change and convinced I wanted to ‘upgrade’ to a RKS…but I sat on one and all that changed. The seating position wasn’t nearly as good and I decided to put the money it would’ve cost to swap out into improving things like adjustable suspension and a bigger front rotor. Mine already had black bars and when I wanted some less-reach levers, I switched to black (as I did with the mirrors when they came up on eBay at a good price). A black exhaust will change everything! 😎 I also enjoy riding it stripped back of the shield, bags & sissy…lime having a Softail Slim as well! I’m considering a (removable) batwing fairing for my next trip…that’s my third ‘Electra Glide’ look/function. It truly is the most functional Harley.

I can't even count how many comments are about how they have ridden an older Harley and judge every Harley bike on what they remember. Love the power of the 114 M8 , comfort of the Suspension ( Mono Shock) is vey Nice .Riding ergonomics is perfect for me ( 5"8"- 165 lbs ) .This bike is nice & light ( 728 lbs ). Great in corners .Cruise control for touring is a must for me . Front Riding lamps for " Be seen" , LED Lights , USB Plug is Handy all stock. ADD ONS :Front / Rear Crash Bars . , Bars Risers 1.5" higher & closer . Grip warmers cause I ride early spring and late Fall. Rear Pillion 14" wide Better support & memory Foam ( Ultimate seats ) very Nice for the Missus , stock seat is way too hard & narrow , Rear Tour Pak with 1 up Bracket ( For Me on long hauls ) and 2 up bracket for riding double .Best of both worlds ( Cruiser & Light touring ) . Side Bags Lockable and hard not soft like older models . Like all of my Harley great on Gas when touring at (70mph ) ( 245 miles/ Tank max ) . Now let's Ride & Stay Safe out there ...

My friend and I have just done Route 66 (3,300 miles all in) over 12 days on two 21 Heritages. He had the black and chrome and I had blacked out. Can't make up my mind which I preferred. But we loved them. I came from Ireland with a hip issue and was concerned about that but the bike was perfect. Hate where the indicator signals are on the tank. Makes you look down to check. The other issue was getting neutral especially in heavy traffic across LA, it was really a nuisance. Also very clunky gear change. Still I've been seriously considering getting one. Both of us are. Enjoyed your review.

I have a 2020 Heritage 114 and I love it. The radio issue was solved with a Sena 30K in my helmet and my phone. There is a USB charging port on the left side just below the tank to keep your phone powered for long trips. My only gripe with the bike is the windshield. It's at the perfectly wrong position for my height and I get my helmet buffeted quite a bit.

I my friend am on the same page as you. I have owned many bikes and have over 50 + years riding the Heritage was not on my radar. But while waiting to test ride a Street glide I took the Heritage out. I thought the same thing this bike is AMAZING. Comfortable beyond what I expected. I road a Street Glide right after. Yes the SG has everything and more but I opted for the Heritage I was so impressed. I had Goldwings, Chieftain and Electric Glide years ago I could go on about all my bikes over 48 of them this H-D is my new favorite bike and yes I still tour and the Heritage is more then capable

Ok, I got the same bike you tested. For the radio I bought a reckless dark night faring ( painted Midnight Crimson) with Rockford Fosgate PMA 2, and RF Amp., eagle lights led tail light, mustang seat, cause stock seat slop back kills my tailbone. Love the bike in the twisties. I like the new road glide but as a 65 yr old rider, the lighter weight is very welcome. Slower speeds and twisties, this bike has it all. If you are doing 80 on I-20, then not quite as stable, but anything below is A+. I try to stay off interstates at all cost anyway. With my faring and tall windshield, no buffeting or wind. I hate wind fatigue and stuff hitting my face. (Half helmet). Plus its all quick connect, so if you want bare bones, takes 5 min to remove, put windshield back on or nothing.
As for power, nothing wrong with the 107....plenty there. More than enough for an older rider. If I do want more, a stage 1 and 2 upgrade will knock your socks off.
All I know on handling is that it feels great. I ride with a bunch of veteran riders and when ever we do twisties im up their tail pipes. They are definitely not waiting on me in the turns....lol.
As time goes on will probably change saddle bags out to hard shell painted. More just to continue making my bike a little unique.

Had a 2018 Heritage Classic 114 and it is easily my favorite of all the bikes I have ever owned. Only negative was that it developed a sumping issue and the dealer kept saying nothing was wrong......so I traded for a 2019 Road Glide and almost immediately realized I made a mistake. I hated the Road Glide. Shoulda kept the Heritage and fixed the sumping myself. I noticed the sumping problem on a 2 week road trip from Northeast MO to Austin TX. Anyway, I am currently bikeless and giving some real thought to going out and snagging a 2023 Heritage as Harley addressed the sumping issues with a redesigned oil pump in 2020. 2017-2019 M8 oil pumps had a scavenge ratio of 60:40 with a 10 tooth sprocket and 2020 pump has a 50:50 scavenge ratio with an 8 tooth sprocket. Of course, there are high quality (billet aluminum vs stamped) aftermarket oil pump and cam chest options out there for highly reliable oiling that keeps it in your pan vs crankcase lol but they will void your warranty I think. Anyway, loved the Heritage, so fricking comfortable and rideable, nearly a perfect bike IMO.

I've ridden one from Canada down to carmel-by-the-sea in California and back, taken it camping, ripped up and down forest service dirt roads. I think it's the best all-around cruiser Harley makes. My 2001 Twin Cam 88 Heritage is still going strong. Stone reliable and capable of all day 75mph touring. I never wanted a radio and I don't need giant horsepower. Two things lacking are cornering clearance and a touchy rear brake. The lack of cornering clearance slows me down, which is good at age 71, and I don't ride iit in the rain. All good. Best all around bike to me, had a 2014 ultra Ltd but had to downsize to a 2021 heritage classic in deadwood green ,due to a foot problem ,first thing I did was put a set of V @ H Eliminators slip on mufflers. Stock ones sounded like a sewing machine. This is the 2nd Heritage I've had the first a 2008 ,the suspension and ride has greatly improved since then. This bike is ok for a 2 or 3 day trip but if you want to hit the road for a week or so you'll definitely feel more planted on a 900 lb. Bike, plus more storage. Overall I love my chromed out Heritage , I'm 71 so this will be the last bike for me.

👉 Brother, what you call, "old man bikes," are the "real" Harleys. These newer Harleys are sad excuses for Harleys in many ways. Harley has decided to satisfy your generation, who will buy any crap on two wheels, and has thrown tradition under the bus. As an example, they stopped production on the iconic Road King Standard and Classic last year......big mistake. If you like the Heritage ST, then you would love the ride of the solid iron Road King. Unfortunately, the Road King Special is a down graded sad excuse for a Road King, as we more seasoned riders well know. And halogen and no stereo or Bluetooth works just fine. It's about the ride, not the electronics. Thanks for the video and enjoy the ride......not the electronics.

Hi Hegshot Rides, great assessment of the Harley Heritage. I have been riding since 1969. Bought my first new Heritage in 1995. My wife and I took it on many 3000+ mile vacations. Packed plenty of luggage in the saddlebags and luggage rack. Great Bike. It had a 5.2 gallon tank since it came as a FLSTN. I added the windshield passing lamps and large HD saddlebags. Don't really care about a radio. As of now I am riding a 09 screamin eagle ultra classic I purchased new. It is a great bike but since I am getting older I may go back to a Heritage because of the weight difference and the lower center of gravity. My one wish is that HD would upgrade the tank to 6 gallons like my dresser has. Much more peace of mind when crossing highways like 50 Nevada. Ride safe. CAHDBIKER Simi Valley Ca.

I actually traded my 2017 Street Glide special for a 2022 Heritage Classic about 5 hrs ago. It's 200 pounds lighter with a 114 inch motor compared with my Street Glide 107. This rode soooo much better then the SG. I'm 145 lbs. and 69. It was so nimble around town and stable on the hwy. The power was better then the heavy SG. I don't do any long tours anymore. It is so comfortable. I have a 27" inseam and can actually flat foot on it. The wind shield stops a lot of wind. I always got a lot of wind from under the bat wing of the SG. I was shocked. My book shows the weight is 728 lbs. Running weight. I'm thinking this bike is the best kept secret of Harley.

I'd been looking to trade my secondary bike ('17 Sporty Custom 1200C) for a used Heritage. I stopped by my dealership on Dec 30, to ask about a '19 Heritage. Classic that had just come in. The GM was a few bikes short of making his yearly quota, and let me have a new '23 Heritage Classic for less than the low-milage '19 Heritage. It was a deal that i couldn't walk away from. My Primary is a 2022 RGS, which I love,, but I'm loving the new 2023 Heritage Classic just as much. It's an absolutely fantastic bike!!! My schedule is crazy right now but as soon as I can get the MSF taken care of I'm planning to buy the Heritage. It's really hot & humid in my area. What gear would you recommend to deal with the heat? I was thinking just a very breathable jacket with back protector and a helmet with really good ventilation, riding boots, and gloves. I'd be tempted to leave off the jacket during the day. I really don't want to melt in the miserable heat of Central Texas. I'm retired, 6'3" 215-220 and new to motorcycles. I've looked at a Triumph T120 but really like the Heritage more.

I believe that 2022 was the only year in which the Heritage could be had with non-spoke'd wheels. This bike is a throw-back to an earlier era and thus comes equipped with high profile tires and small wheels, and (in my opinion) this setup only works with spokes in that the non-spoke'd wheels look like something that you would only expect to see in the military.
