@@sr.liborio For sure needs a replace.....battery wasn't it's strong characteristic but without all the time with open wifi for video streaming etc it's ok for calls and some messenger use during the day.

I think a more interesting comparason would be the S8 vs A05. Both in like new condition you could buy for around the same price like $100 to $120. However the S8 was one of the top tier flagship phone from Samsung in 2017 while the A05 is the lowest tier budget phone of this year 2024. My guess is that the S8 will still perform better and have better screen quality and features than the A05, however, the A05 will have much newer software and a better battery life.
Was such a good first Android phone
Still have it since early 2017. Still runs great. Yes, the battery lasts about 8-9 hours of hard use, yes, I have screen burn-in from Waze because I use it a lot in my weekly commute, but it's still a gorgeous phone and a testament that a fantastic flagship, if taken care of, will last a long time. Great build, feels really sleek in hand, really light.
Does the phone still receive updates?
@@ammo8581 Software updates? No, not since 2022. Same goes for security updates. But I have bought Bitdefender Mobility for the security. In terms of app support I still have the mainstream apps still available and receiving updates.

I was using my s8 up until last year when half of the screen had a green tint, i thought it was just something i was watching but when i woke up the next day the screen glitched out and fully turned green, the only way i could use it was by completely lowering the brightness. Sucks, it was such a good phone. Anyway got a note 20 ultra now so😁

The galaxy s6 edge is my favorite galaxy device but I never owned it. I place the s8 as a close second and I owned it for a little less than a year. Loved it. Amazon has them for $125 bucks and I may pick one up just because.

Of course, old samsung designs like S8/S9 and Note 8 and 9 are the best in my opinion, you really knew that you gave flagship phone in your hands, now almost all samsung phones look the same and their deisgn is boring as hell compared to crazy S8/S9 era.

From the little google search, this was a common software error that many experienced on samsung phone.

Hi, I had an A32 4G It just broke last month, I am basically phoneless right now - using my dad's old broken iphone 6 on ios 10, I just need a phone that would last me till 2026, My only concern is the latest updates for social media apps other than that i am okay with no security and feature updates, is the s8 still worth it to buy in 2024. I guess in my life, I kindof feel like the Samsung Galaxy S8 where I am technically physically able to do work that pays well. The only problem for me is the software support, many companies don't want to hire me because my recore isn't perfect and my accent doesn't sound good when I speak and my self esteem issues. Just like the S8, it can technically handle a much newer version of Android, but the only problem is that Samsung never gave this device the opportunity.
Does it matter? Getting a custom rom on it is simple as hell.

@@AVKING5600aww man, well with Android 9 pie, allot of apps will still work and the S8 still has has better hardware quality than most new budget phones, but I guess the only problem is the software, but everything else is still good.

I saw pictures from S24 and they are worss than on S8 (which are more natural colours) so is a good camera.
also the raw images are nearly the same except s8s are less saturated and have better colours for that reason.
