  • After years of study and preparation, we're honored to announce a new partnership with the Colville Confederated Tribes and the Upper Columbia United Tribes to translocate Canada lynx from British Columbia to the Kettle Range!
In the past few weeks, several lynx (wápupxn) have been captured in Canada and relocated to the southern Kettle River Mountain Range on the Reservation of the Colville Confederated Tribes in northeast Washington state in hopes that a resilient population will be established there.
This effort will augment the local population with cats that would otherwise have been trapped for their fur, and supports connectivity between lynx in the North Cascades and Rocky Mountains.
The goal of the project is to relocate at least 50 Canada lynx to the Colville Reservation which could take up to five years to complete. Learn more in our news release: www.conservationnw.org/news-u...
