this really shows Hank has his soft side, shouting at Jay shows he sees him as family, almost as a second son for caring that much. Seems the show is definitely going in the love direction for Upton and Jay
Jay and Ruzek have always been like Hank's adopted sons just due to their age when they joined the team. I also see fear in Hank, not just that he lost a son a second time, but Jay is now the vet on the team, he's been there longer than anyone (even Ruzek). Hank doesn't want to lose someone that way again.
The emotion in Voights voice there was brilliant, he was angry at Halstead and sacred that he could of lost him. Voight is right that he always does his job x
I feel so bad for Jay, Everyone he knows either dies or leaves him. He proable feels a lot of guilt because the last think he said to his father was not the best thing. He just lost Olinsky not his dad that is way too much. Erin left too . I feel like he is going to suffer a breakdown at the end of the season.
I love the mentor /fatherly role that Hank has taken on towards Jay. Jay is an amazing cop... and I wouldnt be surprised if Voight were to give the unit to Jay one day. He's his number two.
Chicago pd is such a great show. Well casted. Great actors. Great storylines. It has these powerful moments like this one where you can feel what the characters are feeling. I just saw this scene last night and it was sopowerful. .
Man when Upton breaks down at the end, that is the most relatable thing I’ve seen. You try and hold it in and then someone asks if you’re alright and it just comes spilling out
I like the way Hank started chewing Jay out slowly and quitely and then it builds up to full scale yelling. Then he says we will talk about this some more. Hank reminds me of my dad in that way. Hank's reprimand is deeper than you disobeyed a direct order. Jay's statement to Upton about how he just couldn't stop himself was perfect. Deep down Hank knows how Jay feels. Excellent scene. Great writing and acting.
Still watching & enjoying this scene 1 year later. Such a powerful scene between Hank & Jay here and WOW love Jays beautiful blue eyes in this scene. Keep it coming PD .
misskit123 I don't like them together though, not as a couple! I hate that they shoved #Upzek/#Rupton down our throats after dangling #burzek in our faces for 3 years! #NoUpzek #NoRupton #teamburzek #teamupstead.

That’s a good boss right there, reminding Jay that he’s right there and will alway protect him but that he can only do so much Jay needs to protect himself too. I think what Voight was talking about made Jay think about Will and the fact that If he died that day Will would have lost two people he loves
Best scene of the entire show for me. Shows Hanks soft side how he cares for his unit, Jay looking at him almost tearing up like a son listening to his father. Amazing characters.
CPD Sergeant: Talking about Random Crap Voight: Man, I don't care if you're whole god damn family just got murdered CPD Sergeant: Turns & Looks at Voight #0:31
I hope they don’t put Halstead and Upton together. Just keep them as friends and confidants. Upton just seems really good at keeping the boys (Ruzek, Halstead) in check.
Jonathon Banasiak I hear ya, but I’m still holding out hope for the opposite. We really don’t need a replacement for Linstead. The Kelly Kidd thing, I get. Its a part of Kelly’s changing character arc from playboy looking for ass to a man finding someone to settle down with. But I can’t see how an Upstead ship does anything to further either of their character arcs. But still, I totally get where you’re coming from though.
Anyone else find it interesting that Halstead is the only one in the unit who is told to stand down when working a case that is personal to him? Whether his bartender lady friend was shot or this episode? Compare that to the rest of the team who got to take the lead on personal matters... Antonio's son was kidnapped by the guy who also killed his partner, Lindsey tracking down Nadia's kidnapper, Burgess going undercover to find guys who assaulted her sister, Atwater protecting his relatives, Olinsky avenging his daughter, Upton avenging her partner, and Voight who needs no definition...
I have to say you have a good point I was wondering the same thing why is it ok for the rest of the team to work on personal cases but not Jay because it's to dangerous & personal according to Hank . Very good point. You can see Hank's protective of his whole team but when it comes to Jay he is seriously protective.
E me escute ... 😍 Ele se preocupa com o Jay, confia nele e estava com toda a razão ... O Jay é sempre tão centrado, responsável e eficiente ... É bom ver que às vezes ele pode perder o controle ... Grandes atuações ... Excelente ... Melhor crossover ever 😍
Jay had this dressing down coming. He’s been spiraling since his father’s death and he took it out on everyone in this case including Juan, who literally was an innocent party.
You two got it all wrong. Hank only said that cause Jay went rogue & almost got himself killed. He yelled at him because he did care. That was basically the same way a father would yell at his son for doing something stupid
I personally think what Voight said "I don't care if your whole damn family just got murdered!" I think..he took that a bit too far, Look, I still adore Voight! Tho I think that's waaay too far for him to even say! I mean, Voight was mourning and grieving in the season finale of season 5, and also the first episode of season 6, Hey, Even Season 3 Finale! It's like he's saying he can only mourn and grieve tho not his crew! Like I said, I think Voight took that line a bit too far and I don't think it suits his character to even say it! Tho hey, that's just my point of view! I just thought it was harsh, and seeing the ending of Halstead crying over his memories, it broke my heart, and hearing Voight say "I Don't care if your whole damn family just got murdered!" I felt like it ruined the ending .-. like Halstead was hurt and crying over his memories, and to have Voight say that to him...I can just see what might be happening incase Halstead still grieves in the next episode :/
“You listen to me!!” He’s yelling at him like a father rebukes his son, not like a superior yelling at a subordinate. Friggin great acting!
Eeyup.
i know that all too well. my dad had to do that to me and my brother a few times.
Did you notice that Jay is about to cry?? Thats a reaction of a son too
Que escribistes no entiendo inglés?
He should have won an Emmy for this scene.
This is such a powerful moment he is like a loving father reprimanding his son. Just awesome!!!!!!
When this went down, I bet Voight was still reeling from losing Olinsky. That’s why he went off on Halstead so hard.
this really shows Hank has his soft side, shouting at Jay shows he sees him as family, almost as a second son for caring that much. Seems the show is definitely going in the love direction for Upton and Jay
I actually thought Jay is Hanks Son he ia not?😎😎

When this went down, I bet Voight was still reeling from losing Olinsky. That’s why he went off on Halstead so hard.
Anyone else think at this moment that Voight was acting like a good father here
With only his unit left, he has so little of a choice, anyway.
HELL yeah
DKK of
Definitely
Sure is. That’s his job! To keep Jay Halstead!
The Voight version of "You do that again and I'll tan your hide, boy" talk
100%
Nothing better then Voight getting pissed off..
Oh yes so true 😍
That’s the drama in a crime drama.
Voight getting pissed off is the desert of this show.
Voight is bad ass :)
And beating up people
Voight can't afford losing another guy of his unit
That actually made mr tear up

Yeah i agree but season 5 was one hell of a season for him people were dying around him left and right
I agree. Jay has had some really bad luck, and then that Camella chick turned out to be a murder suspect.
This was such a great dress down of Jay. He's been slowly going down hill and Voight gave him space but ultimately he needed to get yelled at.
This is an amazing & emotional scene between Hank & Jay . Great acting.
That transition from “ you listen to me!!! “ to “ it’s my job to keep you alive “ ugh I just love it
I love the mentor /fatherly role that Hank has taken on towards Jay. Jay is an amazing cop... and I wouldnt be surprised if Voight were to give the unit to Jay one day. He's his number two.

ruzek used that moment to begin the sex between friends, before that nothing was happening and only explanation is the vulnerability that she was in
Jason Beghe deserves an Emmy. Drop the mic.
I love this man
I like the way Hank started chewing Jay out slowly and quitely and then it builds up to full scale yelling. Then he says we will talk about this some more. Hank reminds me of my dad in that way. He definitely should have won an emmy for this scene alone.
True he needs to
love him
Still watching & enjoying this scene 1 year later. Such a powerful scene between Hank & Jay here and WOW love Jays beautiful blue eyes in this scene. Keep it

The way voight warned Hailey and said "we need Jay the way he is" because he knew he is the best guy on the team and he grounds the entire team.
I loved this scene.. So protective and father like
Teazjha Moyé 🍸
He got so angry because he cares so much about his team their like his children.
I love supportive Adam. The end of this clip with Hailey was really sweet.

Hailey crying shows how much she cares about Jay, I know Adam is only a friend but it looked like possessiveness when Adam pulls her into his shoulder
I love how voight cares about his unity
This scene!!! They just lost a member of their team. Vought is not about to lose another.
One of the best Voight's scenes of all time.
That’s a good boss right there, reminding Jay that he’s right there and will alway protect him but that he can only do so much Jay needs to protect himself too. I think what Voight was talking about made Jay think about Will and the fact that If he died that day Will would have lost two people he loves
*I just wanted to go give Jay a hug I felt so bad*
It wasn't until this scene that I truly understand the phrase "He chewed his face off".Great acting from voight.
For a moment I thought Upton was going to hold Halstead hand but I got emotional to see Upton got emotional
That voice especially when he gets mad makes me wanna....... 😍😍😂
I so get it,his voice does things...
I’m liking more and more Hank this season and how a role model he is to his team specially Jay!!!!!!!
He's just trying to keep them safe
Yeah, and I mean just after losing Al
@@stephenjacob4782 exactly. Voight always feels responsible for all of them so its no wonder hes pissed

Your definitely not the only one who does trust me .
Jay looks like his about to burst into tears in any second.
So does Voight though! I think the anger here isn't anger it is fear! They have just lost Olinsky and Voight can't bare to lose anyone else x
I love Voight with a PASSION!!!! Ruzek's my guy, too!!!
Best crossover EVER. Great story and made more sense Fire then Med then PD. wanted Voigt to hug Jay but then this scene is more powerful as is.
This scene alone is why I will *always* love Hank Voight. He's so protective of everyone in his entire unit!
You can tell Hank really doesn’t wanna lose Jay... 🥺🥺🥺
Love hailey and jay...she look so cute
He's just lost Olinsky and is still grieving over losing his son and Erin to... he is desperate to keep those he love safe x
‘YOU LIKE WORKING IN THIS UNIT, YOU KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS’ HE’S ICONIC LOL 😂
Never piss off Hank or endanger his team😬🤣😁💪💪
He cares about him even if he yells
You know what, I really thought Halstead was Hank’s son.
honestly same
also I totally didn't cry watching this
16 Duvald 🍾
I think he's the son Hank always wanted. He's what Hank's son could have been. Helped that they both loved Erin
Best scene of the entire show for me. Shows Hanks soft side how he cares for his unit, Jay looking at him almost tearing up like a son listening to his father. Amazing characters.
& this is exactly how a father would yell at his son for doing something stupid
One of the best scenes in the series.
I love this show. I love the fact that the unit is ride or die.
Very powerful scene, outstanding performance
"You are done talking.. DONE"
Too many people are dying around him😰❤
Hell of a crossover!👏👏

Amazing! I swear if I thought for a second that Olivia Benson was going to show up! Lool Maybe next time!
I liked the Fire, P.D. Justice crossover from March of last year better, but this was really good to.
Adam comforting Haley is so sweet!!
I love these characters like crazy
Hank's lost so much 😢 he couldn't afford to loose Halstead as well

Shes tougher than she looks no doubt.
Well ruzek and upton got together then split lol
The Best TV show without a doubt 😉 I can't understand why it does not more recognition. Very, very underrated
Voight sounds like batman 😂
I was glad he didn’t go to Med, he would’ve hurt Will more after they both lost their dad, and hitting him
Voight might be a hardass, but he cares for his unit.
Best scene in Chicago franchise history
I would’ve broke down crying. I hate when someone yells at me.
THAT was good acting from Beghe you can tell that he was reliving the pain and fear of losing Olinsky and seeing it happen again with Jay
Not just Olinsky, his son Justin too.
Love the way Voight yelled at Halstead! To the extent one of the other sergeants looked over! X

Isn't this the guy who murdered his son's killer and let his best friend take the fall?
It is what it is.
Which is why he doesn't want someone else to make the same mistake he did
Yes, but his friends did not take the fall, but someone did die because of it.
