I made a post on my fb that said "If I could use my negative energy for something positive, I'd be unstoppable." Now I watch this video and read your comment.
Gambling addicts are all so fascinating. They’ve got so many outrageous life stories. Their lives are like a roller coaster. So many highs and lows . Life is one big gamble and hanging out with gamblers is always an adventure.
This world that we live in is so full of variety of personalities and backgrounds and these videos help me to see life from many different views. I love watching your videos as I genuinely enjoy hearing their stories.
Thank you for sharing your story! I couldn’t imagine loosing three family members, but to be the one that finds them after they passed has to be incredibly traumatic!! I appreciate your honesty, especially about the opiates. It was a story I could relate to. I believe your friends will be incredibly proud of you , your candor , and your courage to speak your truth. Thank you again! Sending love your way !
I would NOT want to live this guys life but I bet he's great to spend time with. He's frank and honest about his strengths and weaknesses and so far he's been able to keep his life from flying apart into permanant calamity. I hope he can find that balance of excitement and responsibility that let's him be himself without some tragic disaster at the end. Best wishes Joe
If he gets to the point in recovery when he can go down to the streets without worry of relapse, I could see him thriving as a front lines treatment outreach worker. They go out in the streets to bring people in to rehab, dodging the constant threat of violence, administering Narcan, arranging detox or temporary shelter (motels, etc), and emotionally supporting clients through the crisis of getting from the streets to a treatment opening. Not everyone is capable of it, but it’s great for adrenaline junkies. I work in recovery systems and have been through them, and they need a guy like this, if he’s interested and ready. Some people do better totally away from the scene, in some other high stakes area…business, emergency first responders…all kinds of things. Just a thought.
Wow wow wow! What a guy! Great personality. Very smart , honest , interesting. He's been through alot but still seems down to earth and would like to know him. Good luck to you ! Keep your chin up and get off the drugs.

30mg oxy almost destroyed my life. At my worse, I was taking 14 a day at 40 bucks each. Now I am 4 years clean and a home owner, 2 new cars in garage, kids have everything they need, wife's happy. It all started with a Dentist appointment.
That's great man. They were destroying me as well. 5-10 a day. The withdrawal was hell on earth but I made it. I never want to go back, grateful for recovery.
Highly doubt your dentist prescribed 30 mg of oxy. If he did it wasn’t more than a couple weeks worth. I’m sure your addiction started long before or because of something else.
@@mildred714 I think you misinterpreted his comment. He just said his addiction started with a dentist appt. They probably gave him 5mg percocets or some stronger vicodin and it progressed from there, eventually reaching 30mg percs.
This guy needs an ACTING CAREER. Love this guy, such a big personality. Competitive guy. Wish he really uses that towards ANYTHING, ANYTHING productive, he’d be so successful.
I knew a gambler who went through it hard for the first few months, lost almost everything, couldn’t even afford his heroin…won 300,000 on the World Series and moved
The interviewees seem to get a huge sense of relief during the middle of these but at the very end there is this sense of regret or despair when they realize their situation is still the same. The deflated look on Joe’s face and in his voice at the end is sad but maybe it can be fuel to help get him back on the right track.
This interview held my interest. Joe is a very engaging interviewee. A lot of the other interviews bore me after a while and I don't finish watching them.
Oh my goodness this guy is great- so entertaining and honest - I love this interview. Such a great story about the insanity of addiction and how it takes your life from you. This guy goes 140mph! Very insightful too.
I love how he completely acknowledges what he does and knows that he has to take every day as it comes. Very likeable character. Wish him luck for the future!
Wow I can relate so much to this guys story and problems, the monopoly money attitude. Just buying anything for the sake of it when you have won, etc. Great interview as ever Mark 👍❤️🏴
That's great you're off the dope. Just be careful with that suboxone. I was taking 4 mg a day coming off opiates. Kicking those subs and the withdrawal was pure hell for 6 days. Being truly clean is freedom and you deserve that. Go through the short lived hell to find beauty on the other side!
Same it saved my life. Now i am hooked on meth. My boyfriend found out that i cheated on him during a meth binge and he packed a Bax quietly and left my state to go back to Mississippi he told me he needed time to think i said i understood. It has been 5 days and he is barely speaking to me. He did drugs as a kid but nothing stuck. I have been blowing up his phone and he texted me 2 times to answer. I dumped 2 8 ballls down the toilet while he watched me flush it. I am not answering the phone to anyone who does mefh. And i am going back to narcotics anonymous. It saved my life before it can do it again. I hate lying and sneaking around you feel horrible about yourself. I would do anything to get my boyfriend back. But i am quitting for myself
Joe is literally one of the best guys out there and this is coming from someone who knew joe for a long time and we both kinda hated each other at one point but we all get older and get smarter and put aside the bullshit. I found myself smiling at some of Joe’s stories, then I found myself frowning at some others as well. Charisma and energy - too bad he isn’t using it in the “right” way (for him). All said with that heavy, undeniable and very familiar NY accent 🗽
Even as a heroin addict myself, I think it’s worse. It would take me a week to do the amount of money in dope a gambler could lose in a couple’a minutes. I bet that’s why his gambling started to slow down as his opiate addiction got worse.
@Hiden Goseke Yeah, shooting fentanyl is the biggest gamble you could make, but I actually feel like gambling is a worse addiction in the sense that you can blow soo much more money sooo much faster. And I think it’s harder for a real gambleholic to quit gambling than for a heroin addict to quit. There’s no methadone or suboxone for gambling. There’s also triggers everywhere. Like if you quit heroin you stay away from people places and things, but gambling, you have sports games on all the time, everybody’s always talking about sports, even commercials for random things are sports related during the playoffs or around the super bowl, adds for casinos every other mile on the highways, internet adds for that shit popping up all the time, and all of that. Idk, it just seems gambling is harder to get away from. Fentanyl makes opiate addiction more dangerous, but as for the pull of addiction I thing gambling is worse.
