Those RB 211s, what a gorgeous sound after that missed approach, Great video.
Yep the pilots did a great job, the missed approach was a nice surprise and awesome to see and hear.
Hi
What a georgeous footage with help of a nature and autumn colors! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
😇✌🏻 Yeah, it’s true. I am always enjoying your video and more over, this plane is forever a queen of the skies and I am extremelly sad, that they all (except carho versions) will be sooner or later grounded forever. Damn economy🙄
Yes it certainly is a shame to see them grounded, years ago I remember standing at the end of the runway at Gatwick, watching the bright orange Braniff 747 takeoff, happy memories for sure, in the UK it had the nickname " the flying carrot" 😄
Glad that this aircraft will be kept. Will miss that engine roar
How about keeping it fully operational as the last British 747 which could do air displays yes I know the cost of maintaining it would be a lot but worth it.
I agree. Beautiful aircraft. I've seen one irl
Has to be the best footage of seen from G-CIVW's arrival. Absolute well done man. You've earned a subscriber :P
Beautiful video of this B747! Great filming.
Such a classy queen, never gets old! Long live the 747’s
Great vid! I was working today and couldn't be there. So glad to see the old girl safely at her new home. Thanks!
Queen Of The Sky.
I like how the trees are taller than the 747
Since my house is only about 10 miles in a straight line from Heathrow, up until the pandemic clipped their wings BA’s 747 fleet, including G-CIVW, were among the most frequent aircraft in the sky overhead, so it’s great to hear one’s been saved from the scrap heap for a new life. I’ll definitely be visiting when things are a bit more normal to see this plane up close!
I see them almost every day where I live, there is definitely something special about them.
Definitely best one yet of go round
It will be a bit-part scenery piece on Top Gear most of the time. How long before it and the other 747 already there is joined by an A380? I've flown on both many times and will miss them.
I am so overwhelmed with happiness that she was saved but yeah quite heartbroken the demise of the others. I very much love the 747s and the A380. I think the 737s and that includes the max, and the A320 are very fantastic also.
Wowwww what a view.
Didn’t she look beautiful sweeping round on approach amongst the trees.. Stunning.. hope they look after her
The queen of the skies 😍so sad it doesnt fly anymore :(
There are 747s still flying.
Great shots. I was in the crowd in the first few secs.
Where is this place ?
@@UraFlight It's the airfield where they film Top Gear I think.
CF I know Dunsfold airfield. I was there on TopGear set also airshows. I wondering from where the camera man filming ?
@@UraFlight Oh. Apparently people are sayin it's a hill with some kind of fort. I'm just guessing it's near the area.
CF Thank you 👍😃
Magnificent footage thank you. I didn’t know this was happening so when I spotted her on the usual LGW approach but at 1200 ft (they are normally about 3000 when they go over here) I thought she was well below the glide slope (has happened once or twice in years gone by). But she just rolled to the left onto the reciprocal and dropped out of my sight, only to pop up a bit further on and do it all again. Truly wonderful to see.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Good one. The go around was a nice touch. HH looks nice with the Autumn colours. Wish I knew about this happening, never find out about stuff like this.
Same as me ! I just saw the news this morning
@@topfelya You have to keep an eye on local NOTAMS
It was all kept hush hush, until a few forum posts appeared on the net late Tueday night confirming it, luckily I managed to get a day off work, just incase it happened, I expected the 747 to just approach low from Gatwick and land, so the missed approach was a real treat to see. The next big thing that could possibly happen at Dunsfold, is the VC10 flying out to a new destination in the USA, I would expect a test fight or two might happen, but this is just rumours at the moment, and it would be all very much secret squirrel stuff.
@@bobsurgranny Thank you ! Its very hard to keep an eye on everything around.
@@Wonkabar007 That'd be wicked
Beautiful video, thanks for sharing, but what a bloody waste of a perfectly serviceable aircraft !
Although I agree, we can at least be glad that she won’t be scrapped like her sisters!
@@aviationlba747 absolutely !
It is now confirmed that G-CIVB will be preserved at Kemble now as well!
@@aviationlba747 great news indeed. Well deserved - these planes mean a lot to a lot of people.
Nice video and sound.
Great video thanks for sharing
Really cool spot👍
Cool name
Fab video - from a good vantage point, and as someone else said a tremendous view from (? where there's nothing hir around Dunsfold - that's why it was an airfield). Autumn colours also great- fitting for the end of an icon...
Hascombe Hill I expect
What a great footage ! Thank you for sharing with us ! I hope they will keep her in good conditions . How I can contact you privately ?
I'm hoping G-CIVW will be able to do taxi runs once in a while, Dunsfold said the aircraft will be open to the public at some point, I'd like to see inside. YT stop doing direct messaging a while ago, which was a shame, I thought it was a handy feature.
@@Wonkabar007 That would be awesome if they will let public to see this aircraft. Two years ago I visited B747 at Dunsfold during airshow. £5 pound a ticket. That was nice , I like it !
I was wondering from were did you get the info about these events. Im following flight radar24 on twitter but there were no info about this B747 arrival to Dunsfold

@@Wonkabar007 Thank you mate !
Brilliant
Bir Boeing 747'nin cennete inişine tanıklık ediyoruz.
Was that filmed from up on the Hogs Back somewhere?
Its Hascombe hill, the site of a iron age hill fort, great scenic views from the footpath.
The old girl wanted one last pose.
Amazing video! Which runway did she use? Thank you! :)
Is that other 747 what have the retro livery gonna be in a collection somewhere ?
The white 747 that has been at Dunsfold for a few years, was in the Bond film " Casino Royale "
Where did you take this video from? Loving the angle!
Hascombe Hill
@@Wonkabar007 thanka
Crikey, used to live Iver, not far from Heathrow. Can remember these coming in back in late 6ts (?). But have never seen one, nor been in any. Now they're all gone. Ho hum!
Pan-Am likes this.
"Thanks"

Why did they do a goaround? Just for show?
Sometimes a low approach and go-around is needed to ensure config and local conditions
Because she'd never have made Gambon corner coming in at that speed on the 1st approach. :>)
One last hurrah for a retiring aircraft.
If ever you wanted a symbol of the decline of Western Civilisation, its the 747 and A380 dwindling
Mmm not really, the 747 is at the end of its life, and the A380 is too big and expensive to run, smaller more economic aircraft are more profitable.
