    Here's the bass part to 'Ave Verum' by Mozart, as it appears in the RSCM's 'The Cross of Christ.'
    This is part of a new resource for church choirs of all the bass parts to everything ever!
    Please contact me if you've seen this and I don't know you personally, as it would be interesting to know if anyone has used this.

    Very helpful! God bless you. I had 95% of this down but after watching this video and singing with you I feel confident and ready to sing this at Mass this upcoming Sunday! Also thank you for playing the piano as well. Helps to keep in time with the sopranos. Cheers!

    This is quite high for a bass. Could it be, that this should be an octave lower? Sorry about the stupid question, I sing tenor II normally and this is about the height of my voice. (Besides we sang the ave verum as well and as I said, I remember our bass way lower than you sing it).

    • @basshymn
      @basshymn  8 лет назад

      +Peter Schulze 99% of basses wouldn't be able to sing this an octave lower. Bar 6 would have an A three lines below the stave in bass clef, which would be ridiculous. So I think this is correct, yes.

    hey thanks it really helps me.. but I'm kinda curious about the differences in our partiture.. Like the second sentence, in my partiture it says "Natum de Maria...." and there is a difference in the timing for bass to sing it.. I want to comment about this video too.. I think it's to fast, because mozart created this song before he died and it's like his funeral's song.. It's better too make it adagio about 65 BPM, and then combine it with its dynamics.. Well it's my opinion

      Thanks.
      Yes, "de Maria" is correct Latin Grammar, but "ex Maria" is what Mozart put originally, so people sing both.

    Ave verum corpus natum de Maria Virgine
    Vere passum, immolatum in cruce pro homine
    Cuius latus perforatum unda fluxit et sanguine
    Esto nobis praegustatum mortis in examine
    O Iesu dulcis, o Iesu pie, o Iesu fili Mariae.
