  • Hello, my fellow foodies! Waakye is a popular street food in Ghana, as well as a staple dish in many Ghanaian homes. It is usually prepared with red beans or black-eyed pea, rice, and sorghum leaves. The dish is usually served with gari, a cassava-based starch popular in West Africa, shito, spaghetti, stew, egg, fish, etc. Try this super easy recipe and thank me later. Enjoy! #waakye #waakyerecipe #ghanastreetfood #ghanafood #africanfood #beansandrice

Can you give a possible substitute for waakye leaves ?

Hi, then don't use leaves at all.
You can use brown rice and brown beans for a similar effect
