The amount of talent in this whole group is literally almost incomprehensible.
Great taste in covering masterpieces to be mentioned either.
These guys do the best covers. Extremely accomplished musicians.
I don't know how many people realize that this song is *COMPLETELY DRIVEN* by the bass line. .
If that fails, the whole song fails. . . BIG TIME!!
In this case, it's SPOT-ON!
This guy nails it. . .
Not easy to play, plus you need that octave pedal to get the sound. This guy nailed it.
I don't know if I've ever heard such good guitar soloing and interplaying between obvious masters. I'm blown away.
This whole band are all incredible.
Both solos were just sick as h*ll.
Both? I mean all of them :)
Spot the weak link.......oh there isn’t one! Absolutely love band geeks!!
Bass player rushing the song … tempo a bit off. But I’m nitpicking lol
Male backup vocal
The best Sledgehammer I´ve ever seen.
One of the most powerful songs of the 80's.
Dad and son, priceless.
Great "cover"
I was reluctant to click on this cause I'm really tired of the song...
...but wow, glad I did, absolutely fabulous version!
Castellano family's like Porcaro one, both for origin and because everyone is a fantastic musician. Grandissimi!
The bass player is SO Good!
i remember him from the 2005 Queen + Paul Rodgers tour.
Geddy American Jazz??
Playing along with Blue Oyster Cult too
Thomas Hemenway He is also a kick ass guitar player.
Danny Miranda is a legend. He really nails that heavy Tony Levin sound here.
You guys are so fun. Finding you has been like finding a light in a dark time. Hope all of you keep on making music!!!
Came for the tune stayed to watch the dad shred!
You guys are great....and the female vocals in close to the edge is as good as Jon Anderson....thank you for your work
Take notes GARBAGE mainstream musicians: THIS IS WHAT TALENT LOOKS LIKE. Respect to Richie n crew
Dad killed the impromptu guitar solo… so cute how he didn’t realize there was no mic in the stand… such a talented crew
Richie, Dana and I are astounded at the difference between the live feed in comparison to these professionally (by you hahha) mixed version...totally awesome job!!! We love you guys and PLEASE DON'T EVER STOP!!! There is love in what you do and the world needs that!
I second that!!!!!!
@@moodylicious I third and fourth it!
I'm loving it!!!
Perfect show!! Perfect musicians!! Perfect band!! Perfect family!!
Dear Richie, here in Argentina we have a saying, EL SUEÑO DEL PIBE. (The dream of the kid) In this amazing performance I believe es duplicated. Your dad joining his son`s band and you playing with him. Congrats to all for that!
Best cover of Sledgehammer on YT
These guys are incredible so talented ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome! That bass player is on point.
Wherethe2riversmeet it's Danny Miranda, not your average bass player hahahaa. Played with Queen ... so a top shelf player. So glad this band managed to secure him for their gigs.
The audio quality on this is amazing! Love the mix. A great sounding cover!
Smacks from Brazil ! So nice song, guys!!
Wow! Great job. You've got skills Richie. And the talent you've associated with are stellar.
one of the best cover bands (not to mention most talented) on RUclips....wow.
The chorus responses on the three guitars are too beautiful, thank you for this great moment !!
Phil
That was on another level .
WOW!!! Those solo's at the end are EPIC!!! This is the best version of this song on the web including Peter Gabriel's.
Great version. That geezer brought a smile to my face.
If I didn't know any better, and I had my eyes closed, I'd say this was Peter Gabriel himself performing this song. Nicely done! One of my favorite covers you do!
Makes me soooo happy!
Bravo! Sorefreshing to see a band on youtube where the sound is good and all the members are up to the task!!!! Well done!!!
This was fantastic. You guys are great!
Richie u and your crew are amazing...9 mins Sledgehammer...gotta stop and watch that!
Just joy and talent incarnate. 'nuff said
Geezus, the 💣🤘
What a blessing to be able to play with your dad! I miss playing with mine
Geeeeks, I will follow you ever, thank ya so much!
How cool are you guys for letting the guitar tech get in on the fun?!! Freakin awesome!
That was Richie's dad... or Mel Brooks!
My fav part was watching John C. shred it. Fantastic.
Great job all you guys! Looks like so much fun, and super cool to get three family members on stage. Reminds me of when I saw Jobim with his wife, son, daughter and son in law all in his band.
Best 8 min of my life! Your dad at the end was fucking awesome!
Another FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE !!!
It was a real pleasure to look at this video! :) Keep on rockin'!
wow!
Awesome , just awesome, love the energy that comes out from your performance
Fantastic performance! Got to give a special mention to the bass player. I laught out loud at the very end when you played the lick from Rush's Jacobs ladder. Really fun. Appreciate things like that!
That three-way (make that four-way) guitar solo put this already awesome cover over the top! You guys are absolutely amazing. Your band is chock full of world class talent.
Best cover of this song I have ever seen. Over the top and worth it all the way!
Solid groove. Great vocals. Bass is killing it. This song needs energy and you guys brought it.
The young lady is cutting some fine shapes! The music is bang on too! :O)
You guys sound great!!
Just discovered Geek Band! WOW, I am partying right now!!! Freaking Amazing Musicians --- Thank You!
They really are geeks. And I really love what they are about.
That snare sound tho. Holy crap I love that.
Here's a fun secret. When I got these tracks from the club, they forgot to record the snare mic! So this snare sound is a combination of the room mics, hi-hat mic and floor tom mic, heavily processed and automated. It was a pain in the butt, but the result was worth it!
It reminds me of a combination of Led Zep and Eminence Front by The Who in the sense that you don't hear the depth of the drum on every hit like you do with a Van Halen record, but when you hear it, it pops and gives that deep satisfying thud sound. Really awesome salvaging job!
Smokin!! Best version so far and face melting leads! Good groove!
Best cover...
for me , the best cover band in the world ! tasty and funny and so talented ! ! ! ! all of you ! a fan from France !
Agreed. At age 70 where have I been all these years? I live in Philly PA and our cover bands don't even come close.
FANTASTIC
This is a FANTASTIC rendition of this classic!
a pleasure see then! Excellent! Gaby from Argentina.
wow ! just wow !
The 18 people that thumbs down this video have ZERO musical talent and no appreciation for the incredibly talented musicians in this band
They must have COVID, they lost their taste...
I know I'm late to the party .... But damn .... That was f-ing awesome ... Better late than never ... The band geeks are by far the best collection of musicians on you tube ...
Peter gabriel is a tough singer to pull off. Great job!
Nice pocket drummer!
Your Dad killing it on the lead!!!
I didn't realize Mel Brooks was such a great guitar player!
Ummm … that would be Richie Castellano's dad, John. Some fun, eh?
Um, duh
@@MustangTennisCIAHey, thanks for that sharp, inciteful observation … sorta like the Mel Brooks one. Duh indeed …
You’re the one that didn’t get the original joke.
@@elbinkogrande Richie's dad is Mel Brooks? Da'Faque?
BAM - blown mind. - had me dancing in my chair - that's the way to take it out - WHAM BAM THANK YOU MAMAM !!!!!!!!!!!!
The energy on this would power Statin Island for a week. 💕
Brutal !!!!!! 😃😃😃
Man, there's some nice playing at the end. Sweet.
Avery here from NC The Band Geek rocks
You guys always amaze me, keep it up.
musicians like you, make life worth living...
Man, I love the whole live scene. My favorite thing is the fact that bass players seem so very chill, like they're too cool to get into it until things get crazy at the end. LOVE IT
The bassist is Danny Miranda, played with Blue Oyster Cult and a small band called Queen... Genius level bass playing.
Danny nailed that bass sound.
This feels like listening to Steve Vai, Steve Lukather and John Petrucci playing Peter Gabriel... 🤓 OMG!! You are great, guys! Your newest and biggest fan so far.
Damn that Bass was incredible
Truly impressive.
Genial chicos!!! Excelente!! I love your style!!!
So great. It's fun to listen to it and watch it. Fantastic musicians. Richie isn't only a hell of a guitar player but also a fantastic singer. Thank you
I'm a sucker for dueling guitars. Love the rhythm section and vocals. A+.
Ha! You sneaked a bit of Jacob's Ladder by Rush in at the end. AWESOME!
Can you imagine walking into a club and witnessing that?
Oh! My What a jam!! I could had listened to this band all day and night long just WOW!
Everyone in this band is frightening good!! The bass player, though, isn't getting enough love! Ballsy and Funky! It's like Tony Levin with Geddy Lee's tone. AWESOME!!!
The guitar solos!! 😍
Outstanding!
Perfetto! Great Job guys!!, love from Tuscany, Italy.
Amazing!
You guys are just nuts! Incredible!!!
Fantastic
The whole band is KICK ASS BAD!!! All areas especially the bass just ROCKS!!!🤘🤘
