Mr. Gatlin, honestly they need to hire you for the next season of Sprint. You would do a great job at producing and formatting the episodes, because the way the current Netflix producers edited the episodes - it just felt so unorganized and rushed. And I agree, lol even though I’m from the U.S. , the series definitely paints the American athletes in a brighter light, in comparison to the other countries. That’s why Julien Alfred’s story, this season, was the highlight for me. It was refreshing to see a non American athlete share a little insight into what it’s like competing from a different country. She was so inspiring, especially when she spoke about how she was the underdog. I don’t verbatim remember exactly what she stated about respecting Sha’Carri, but she said something along the lines of: “As much as I think highly of Sha’Carri, I have to think highly of myself”. And OMG, she then went on to win the 100 meter race. I was like floored by how inspiring that moment was! So yeah, I hope if there are future seasons, they get actual people such as yourself to help layout better formats. The producers do a crappy job at telling the stories in a seamless fashion, it feels like it’s more catered towards brewing up drama. And these athletes work way too hard to not have their stories and sport be told in a respectful fashion.
I appreciate the value this podcast brings. Justin displays a great producer's mindset in his analysis and ability to articulate his vision, effectively. A unique blend of being a superstar in his field, but grounded enough to realize what great storytelling would embody for the common/casual observer (such as myself). Rodney brings an encyclopedic knowledge of the sport, in depth takes/critique and a sense of humility that allows him to remain an enthused fan of the guests brought on or spoken of, in spite his own professional accomplishments. Continued success.

We Africans should stop expecting the world to talk about us. We should talk about us. The world isnt obliged to give us anything. We should learn to be independant and build ourselves instead of ridiculously waiting for others to give us attention. Either way, Letsile Tebogo and Akani Simbine have been talked about all over the world because they are champions. The 2 Zim athletes did well to be in the finals and I am proud of them for getting that far. However, winning will get the world to talk about them.
