Hi there, I have a valve almost identical to this and I have an issue where a lot of the time, when I attempt to turn the shower off by turning the valve off, the whole assembly spins (the large on/off arm AND the smaller inner temperature adjustment) there have been times where I’ve been in the shower for 10-15 minutes trying to manoeuvre it from clockwise to counter clockwise so it eventually shuts the water off. Do I need a mew internal valve? Or is it possible to “secure” the one I already have internally so it doesn’t spin when I shut the water off? Many thanks in advance for your help!
How do you get the outer but of the plastic cartridge if its stuck?

Yes you do!
You most certainly do need to switch off the water supply- shame this video doesn’t state that right enough
