Do you know if you went through any trauma before this started? I’m trying to figure out what’s the commonality of the people who have agoraphobia. Because for me it started after a really traumatic event where I had no control over anything especially my environment. So I think there’s that part of us who remembers that experience and tries to keep us safe from experiencing it again.
Yeah for sure there's a couple of events that probably had something to do with it. To be honest though i know people who have had similar trauma to me and suffered no agoraphobia. Everyone is different though and i don't know your story. Certainly some bad times in my life where I've had no control. I definitely feel like agoraphobia is rooted in trying to control everything for me.
George Askew oh ok thanks :) yeah.. true people react differently maybe because they also had different experiences that don’t make them as vulnerable.. I don’t know.. but for me it’s directly correlated to a specific traumatic situation as I’ve never had anything like this before.. anyway your videos are inspiring and are helping me to find the courage to do the same :) I thought exposure therapy might do more damage since it could be like a violation to parts who feel unsafe to leave.. but it’s a fine line I guess.. i see it as an adult guiding a scared/traumatized child slowly back to build safety without violating her/him or pushing it too much to the point of further traumatization, but with care
@@stefk.1006 Yeah I totally agree. For me it works best if i do it consistently even if every day is not an improvement on yesterday. I sure do struggle motivating myself sometimes though! I'm so glad you found a source of help with my videos! That's why i put them out there. I don't se enough agoraphobia related stuff and it seems a lot of people suffer with it like us.
All so very true, George - chive on!

Hey George did you notice your anxiety decrease through time compare to when it first started.
Bruce Vecranges yes is definitely did decrease over time but only with exposure therapy and time spent pushing myself. You’ll get there Bruce.
Thanks again for all your help brother.
Bruce Vecranges any time Bruce
