  • GM Ceo Announces NEW $8,000 Pickup Truck & KILLED All Competition!
    -----------------------------
GM just killed the industry with a new $8,000 truck. We all know how much prices are fluctuating, but this is more than a shocker.
New and affordable models are coming out recently, but this just took things a bit further, and you must be thinking-will this be a good truck? The short answer is yes, but there is more to this truck than just affordability, and the reality is that, whatever the outcome, it is all good for us. Because this means companies are being more competitive in the cheaper segments too. And we have already thought about that question, and what we have found is truly surprising; their strategy, the impact, and the performance of this truck are very different from the usual, but first things first.

The Maverick may have had a few successes, But drive it into some of the flooding in Southern California and see what happens. The Maverick has also hit several failures. I find it overpriced, Potentially inflammable, And severely limited in capability scope . A liquid vehicle takes minutes to fill, An electric vehicle takes hours. This negates their usefulness in commercial applications. Certainly it will be no good for towing.. All use of electrical systems on board only drains your battery faster... Further limitations. When you add it up, They're just not worth it. Besides, Ford Maverick is a car from the 70s, Not a new truck. Where is the 300 inline 6 that was so reliable?
      a Maverick came with one?!
They would have done better to bring back the ranchero! They had a nice low deck, And an easy ride, And I still see people taking hay & alfalfa to their animals, Using them to this day!

I've checked GM'S web page... there is no such vehicle pending at this price anywhere in the world!!!
The closest is a $9,000 U.S. Currency equivalent being sold in (guess where).... CHINA!!!
It is probably a shell of a vehicle with no added pollution control or any other required U.S. E.P.A. parts on it, as well as minimal other added equipment that would drive up the price.
It is also built and sold only in CHINA!!! Gov't price controls???

Should have invested in making a cheap reliable truck that’s east to work on, keep it simple. Way to manny computer components, I can pull or push a steel rod just fine. No computer needed. Way better for the environment is the manual steel rod

You will be able to get into one at that price, but it will be a stripper. Something to get you onto the lot. It will have only the most basic necessities and nothing more. They just want you on the lot, then comes the up sell. I can get you one for $8,000, but do you want X,Y and Z? That is going to be a bit more, $12Gs, for $16 I can get you in a nice ride, if you can go $20 top of the line, its got everything a real truck has. or for $28,000 I can put you in this Colorado with all the good stuff and its bigger and bigger is better.
When I was in high school, you could get an S-10 or Ranger for $3,000. Nothing but a manual transmission and a AM radio, no AC no nothing. I went for one and wound up with 4wd, V6, AM/FM and AC for $4,800. My brother in law was a hell of a car salesman.

It was a very smart move to add all the "features" inside. During the mass production it is cheaper to make every vehicle exactly the same, down to the features. Where the Companies get you is paying an extra premium for turning them on. Yup, you pay just to have what is already there activated. Since they will already be set to go in during assembly, why not open access to them as a selling point. Nice inexpensive move.

Just make a basic midsized pickup, drop the crap, keep the radio with CD, AC, and Heater, that's all, and price it so people can afford it. Do a small pickup and car as well, great, but stick to basic transportation, that's it. If you can't afford it, the bells and whistles mean absolutely nothing.

Its a good looking truck for 8000 dollars.I remember a couple years ago when Jeep Brought out the Wagoneer.I looked the sticker was 90000 dollars.8000 is something about everybody can afford.I like the looks of it but like my Dad always used to say.If its new to the market if you can wait a couple years so they can get the bugs worked out.I love that little Truck and its only 8000 dollars. You cant get a Used truck thatll even make it home for 8000 dollars.I mean theres used trucks with 200000 costs more than that.Id like to have one. That Truck wont be able to produce enough to keep up with demand.Thats a breath of fresh air for the US Auto Market.I mean im not a farmer and most people dont need a big truck if you dont use it like that everyday.Im glad the Automakers did something like this.I just hope they dont get everybodys hopes up then it flops.Id like to look at one when or if it gaets made.I couldnt believe it when i heard 8000 dollars. Its a good looking truck too

General motors has produced some winners, But let's not forget that they've produced some t*rds as well! The Vega, the envoy, The 4 -6- 8 engine in the Cadillac, Followed by the 4.9, And the stock Tahoe 4 wheel drive that can get stuck on a wet lawn! I'm a little hesitant, But the price is right..!
We'll see. If they prove out, I'll buy one!

Will it happen, yes. Toyota, Subaru, and GM are all building 8k trucks. In fact the Montana (GM truck) has been sold in Mexico for about 5 years now. They're just bringing it to US and Canada now.
They call it a truck, but it's designed more like the El Camino, which is what I thought they were bringing back when I first saw it. I'm surprised they're naming it after their first ugly crossover van, when reviving the El Camino makes more sense.
Subaru is bringing back the Brat which was also more of an El Camino styled vehicle, than an actual truck.
.... and let's face it, 8k will be the entry 2 door model with manual tyranny and 4 cyl engine. There will be other options of course.

reminds me of the PT Crouser, when they took a crappie car no one wonted and put the PT Crouser body on it, then pre sold it,
a lot of hip before they were released. a lot of pre pre orders, also reminds me of the Cabbage patch kids doll, they will get people to pre order because they will hint to there bring a long waiting list.
be wise, be smart, remember what they have done in the past and don't get sucked in to another gimmick just to be disappointed in the long run.
