I lived in Charlottesville at the time that sage went missing and and my mom actually spoke to her a few times before she went missing.... she said she was such a kind soul and was so nice and a lovely person

So until we show them we care about _everyone,_ by watching and reading the stories they _do run_ about poc and LGBTQ+ they won’t run those stories. The media is a business. Violence against trans women is a huge issue. The life expectancy of a black trans woman in America is only 35 and murder is the most common cause of death, we need to change attitudes toward gender identity it’s an epidemic.

Definitely! If I remember the time stamps correctly it appeared to be about a 30min or more convo so definitely more than just a "hey, how are you" call especially when she was supposed to be meeting up with somebody.. and the fact that no one has claimed to be the person that she was talking to seems a little sus.

Also it's not really certain that sage's case was ignored because of her gender ID - there are so many cases that don't get media attention... For example Suzanne Morphew is a wealthy middle aged married woman and her case only got famous when a RUclipsr began covering it and pushing it into people's minds.
The text messages that seemingly ‘proved Eric’s innocence’ might have also been part of the plot. He might have texted her to make it look like it was all innocent and he had nothing to do with it as a sort of cover. Very suspicious that he disappeared off the face of the earth.

Sage got dismissed for who she is and the lifestyle she participated in. A lot of women who partake in this kind of nightlife get kidnapped and abducted, and the media never does them any justice.

Lisa M. most black trans women only live until their mid 30’s due to targeted harassment. many are murdered or go missing, and their cases are not taken seriously by police or covered by the media. look it up.
Perhaps people also judged Sage for dabbling in sex work. It's not right, but people can be judgemental of those with "high risk" lifestyles.
And they use that “high risk” lifestyle as reason to why they’re gone as if that is a good enough reason for anyone 🙄
It is high risk. You can acknowledge that, but also not judge. She wasn’t doing something high risk for the thrill. She was being discriminated against and struggling to make ends meet, even with some supports in place. It’s so unfair that people get judged for making risky choices when they really don’t have any non-risky options.

I stopped supporting other RUclips channels that do true crime because all they want is a profitable gain from suffering families and victims. It makes me really happy to support Kendall and other RUclipsrs alike that try to get the word out to help families and cases to get more recognition. It's amazing what you do with your donations and how you help the victims and victims families to be never forgotten. It's not about money, it's about help and support for the victims. It's not a joke, it's meaningful to the families.

I gave up a baby boy when I was 16 due to poor living conditions at the time that I had him. They recently found me and he is now a she. I love her no matter what and can not imagine the pain she has gone through in her life. She has told me stories that make my blood boil. She was even scared I would turn her away. She is loved, no matter who God made her to be.

I just can't help but think of what it would be like for sage in today's world. We have such a larger and more welcoming community and it's such a shame she didn't get to experience that. You can just tell she had such a beautiful and kind soul and I'm praying that one day she gets the justice she deserves.

This kinda sounds like a possible human trafficking case, especially because lgbtq people are at a higher risk of being trafficked. From the evidence we have from Eric he does have some signs of trafficker behavior.

As a trans girl from West Australia who's followed you for YEARS, I really appreciate you as a cis woman talking about trans women. This is the kinda thing that makes me scared to even go on dates/ go in public busy areas. I believe she was killed and the guy knows something. But you always wonder if they wouldn't want their friends knowing theyre interested in trans women, and 9 times out of 10; they are only interested in you to fulfill a sexual fetish and they don't take you seriously as a female. We should start thinking about putting funding together to update video cameras at businesses. So many true crime cases could have been solved with a simple video camera!! And if it was known, people would be deterred to doing crimes (hopefully)
Do not do that! I know it comes from a good place in your heart. BUT TRUST ME these companies HAVE THE MONEY to update their cameras they're CHOOSING not to! I can promise your money WILL NOT BE USED FOR CAMERAS. We have security cameras we have had multipul different people from security companies come in and offer to donate better cameras to our store so if we were robbed we had better camera equipment.... they flat out told them NO THANK YOU..... and I work for a HUGE company and they have the means to buy better.

I think there is a bigger reason that security footage is never available one the police ask for it. Just my paranoid thoughts though.
It should be placed into LAW that all businesses with licenses must have a recording (not just livestream) security system of the facility areas. It also should be a requirement for the businesses liability insurance if they have any at all. I really don't understand why it's not already a law to begin with. I mean think about it. They have civil laws to protect businesses I.E.finance companies that require the use of full coverage insurance in case something happens to the vehicle the bank is holding a title on. Maybe I'm thinking too hard on this one but since when are all other civil issues so much more important than people's lives?

@@cab1stborn How come? They/them has always been used as a gender neutral pronoun. Example "Someone forgot THEIR sunglasses on the table", you'd never say "someone forgot his slash her sunglasses". Just respect people's pronouns, it's harmless.

@@bluejeans5770 and while I'm here, there's more than two genders and more than two sexes. Being intersex is as common as being a red head or having green eyes. The exact same statistical probability. So unless you're gonna consider red eyes and green hair a mutation that shouldn't exist, intersex people are perfectly average and normal among binary sexed people.
And just to drive it home and make you question yourself,
You could find our tomorrow that you're intersex and didn't know it.
Would this change your identity??? Probably not. You'd probably continue to identify as you always have, right? So, remember that thought exercise when you think of stepping on someone's right to self identify.

I know I am newer to your channel and making my way through your videos but I just want to say this truly breaks my heart…I am not shocked because it is the media that is the problem. I grew up in Culpeper VA only 40 minutes from Charlottesville my sister went to college at UVA and I have never heard about the sage case but Hannah was all over the media. I am so glad that you do cases like this to help bring some more awareness to these types of cases that don’t get the coverage that they deserve!
