- This video is a basic introduction for my students to see and understand the two different types of wheels I have in my ceramics studio. They are Pacifica and Brent wheels. (The Pacifica wheels are the ones that are easiest to make left-handed in rotation) I also show and explain some of the simple tools we use, and preparations they will need prior to beginning to throw. I will eventually be making a video which goes over my tabletop Shimpo Wheels as well.
For videos on throwing techniques, please see some of my other videos!

Hi there--I just bought a Pacifica GT400 and I cannot find bats that have bat pins 8 inches apart. What do you use?
Most bats fit my Pacifica! That’s the standard size for bat pin holes. Plastibats are what I use mostly along with my square bat system with inserts! Also creative industries makes bats that are sized like that too. Also, just so you know it doesn’t matter if your bat is bigger or smaller than your wheel head - as long as the holes match up! Here's a link to my plastibats www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0044SEIAM/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=karanspotsand-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0044SEIAM&linkId=ad2c15aa99912b64b7fcc2d190817e33
What is the bat mate made of?
Hi Hedy-
I really don't know the material. Something like a synthetic chamois. Wish I would have thought of it! Brilliant idea! ;-)
مع خالص الشكر والممنونية
Nice video! Thank you :)
