I wanted to comment on your guys' political discussion. I would say, as someone who's educated on political discourse and who is also very far left (not a Democrat, as Democrats are economically a Centrist party - they don't align with my values) the major thing we have against Centrism is that a huge plurality of Centrists masquerade as if they are "enlightened," or behave in a very arrogant, snobby way. Almost as if they're "above it all," and those that have more hardline political stances - such as myself, do so out of some naivety or misplaced idealism.
Politics, be they social or economic, have a real - tangible effect on people's lives and their wellbeing. I don't think there's anything wrong with Centrists having a stance that's more entrenched in maintaining the status quo, or even wanting to disengage from that altogether and take a more mild approach to how they analyze politics. That being said - the economic and social positions I hold, I hold them due to research, my understanding of economic and historical geopolitics, my moral compass, and the principles by which I live my life. This is not "a team sport," for me, and I don't think I've ever met someone, who also self identifies as a Leftist, who supports more than maybe 1 or 2 members of the Democratic Party. Not a single Leftist I know was excited about Joe Biden winning in 2020. Not a single Leftist I know cared about Kamala losing this year.
I personally think Centrists are just as embroiled in their own guided thought as they think those with other political ideologies are - it just so happens that the typical Centrist line of thinking is to criticize both sides while also demanding nothing changes. People are unhappy, they are poor, they cannot pay for healthcare, they cannot afford to pay for housing or go to school. Things need to change, the polarization you are seeing is the result of a society that is not working for the people who live within it. I'm not going to say who has the right answer, as I'm just one person - but I believe the things I do because I believe that they are the answer, not because I have some loyalty to a party that does not even come close to aligning with me politically.
I can't speak for the MAGA crowd - I don't really like to surround myself with people who are outwardly transphobic, I have many trans folks in my life whom I care very deeply about, many of whom have been threatened and assaulted by those with far right political leanings. I'm sure not all of the MAGA crowd feel that way or are violent bigots, but enough do that it's not worth it for me to take the risk.

Appreciate your comments and input. Living where I live, near Seattle, everyone I know is mortified of a Trump presidency bc they are almost all super left leaning here. I'm not, but the majority of my friends most certainly are and are actually struggling mightily with 'what ifs,' let alone 'what actually is.' So, this is all to say, I appreciate your perspective and I hope we can all find a center point (of which I'm most assuredly focused), as I am, and always will be, a moderate as I believe in the pursuit (even if impossible) of fairness and justice for all.

Hey there! Thank you for the confidence and trust. I loved the opportunity to chat with Nik and I so appreciate the great words. There was a lot more we experienced together. If you follow my (free) Patreon, the OG versions eventually drop over there. They are about 3 weeks behind, but as time goes on, the versions behind the paywall become public. I invite you to check that out because we listened to some super cool stuff. Much appreciated again and thanks for subscribing to the channel. Hope it provides a safe harbor for your thoughts and life experiences. :)

Life’s hard man. The war IN our heads is just as bad as the war on the outside. Not fitting in, not connecting, not tuning out/checking out or tuning into the BS…it makes you a leper. Idk. I just want to connect. I just want to feel like my life matters, like I was born for a reason and that life isn’t just a joke. Don’t we all?

First time here... If you truly have sleep apnea, GET TESTED. Pumping de-oxygenated blood slowly but surely destroys your heart. You NEED to be on a CPAP machine! You'll sleep SO much better - Ask me how I know.
