Members of the French 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment parachute from Nevada and Georgia Air National Guard C-130H Hercules aircraft at the Paolomagno drop zone near Solenzara Air Base, during a joint training exercise for Allied Forge 2014, Corsica, France. Allied Forge, led by the 82nd Airborne Division in conjunction with the 152nd and 165th Airlift Wings, is the first-ever interoperability exercise designed to enhance bilateral capabilities between the United States and the French 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment.

Why did this video not show the paras jumping with full equipment and weapons as they would on exercise? This was what we call in the 2 REP "Saut tourist"

@101327 I was in 82nd 72-73 and yes, Hollywood jump. But I think you meant without equipment or weapons.

You know what's ironic man? I'm Lebanese and rn I was just chilling at work and I walked out for some fresh air and saw about 30 french soldiers in their military vehicles heading to some kind of military base, they looked extremely badass

@Dark Vadertrauebrein Non absolument pas la légion étrangère est la meilleur dans le cadre armée français je dis sa car tu site 1 RPIMA, et le 13ème RDP ou autre ce sont des unités le légion est a par entière et pour info SI le légion sont des monstres ce sont les meilleurs hommes de l'armée aprés chacun son avis mais même regarde sur des sites ou quoi mais je te garantie que ce sont les meilleur de par leur entrainement, les arts martiaux, les test physiques et l'esprit légionnaire. Honnetement pour moi ce sont les meilleurs au monde y'a pas a dire personne ne me fera changer d'avis. LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA !

Certes la légion a une mentalité a part entière de guerrier ect, mais ce ne sont pas non plus les meilleurs, y'a qu'a prendre les commandos marines qui sont déja bien au dessus
@@sirfox_ Chacun son avis en attendant pour moi la Légion son les meilleur parce que ce ne sont pas des commandos marines qui sont allé combattre 3000 Méxicains alors qu'ils n'étaient qu'une soixantaine. Et si tu voit pas de quoi je parle c'est la bataille de Camerone
SaYzen tu ne connais rien. Lis les commentaires au dessus. Les mecs du 1er RPMIA, les Commandos Marines, les mecs du Choc sont au dessus des légionnaires.
The legion will always be an elite fighting force within the french army. They are elite but not special forces. A small number of the 2REP are part of the GCP. The 2 rep belong to the 11eme brigade du parachutists. Choque troops!

@@juliehaward7270 You are right. If you're 2Rep then everyone jumps. All members of the Reg must jump. Cooks, truck drivers, mechanics, officers, computer and communication, they must all have jump experience.
In all paratrooper regiment in france, all personal jump, standard rule in french army
@@jws8064 Your response is correct...but not cuz they are legionnaires, because they are paratroopers. Legion engineers or cavaliers don't jump.

Drôle de façon de procéder à moins que la drop zone soit très petite c'est à dire par le largage de petits groupes de parachutistes. Le 2ème REP ( paratrooper foreign legion) est une des meilleures unités au monde et avec leur entraînement ses soldats sont capables de vider un C 130 Hercule au maximum de ses capacités en parachutistes en moins de 15 secondes lors d'un saut avec gaine, armement, et en charette c'est à dire en même temps par les deux porte latérales. Peut-être une autre explication : l'entraînement des pilotes américains avec plusieurs passages sur la drop zone. Personnellement en France je ne l'ai jamais vu car l'armée de l'Air économise son potentiel d'heures de vol pour ses appareils mais avec les Américains on joue dans une autre cour... effectivement la DZ de Calvi est petite , mais à mon époque annnée 90 , un câble par porte à chaque passage.
mais en corse du sud ,il y en avait des plus petites.

Its amazing to my that in the 21st century soldiers are still using parachutes ... I guess its a much cheaper way to drop and learn

No gear "Hollywood jump" effin pogues. Some Airborne infantryman jump 100lb+ rucksacks 80 is probably the minimum ive seen weighed for the aircraft. This is called a "fun jump". Airborne infantryman do not do this.
Haha. 2 rep still do combat jumps. POG that REMF. When's the last time 82nd did that? When they created the 3 rep everyone's very first jump was a combat jump. 82nd never did that. Bet you don't have a mustard stain do you. Especially after your first jump.
