How about talking about different course teaching styles? Basically, techniques to match up a style that works best with your personality, and how to record engaging content and not boring videos.
That’s a great idea! It will be an interesting topic to unpack, for sure. What presentation style do you feel fits best with your personality/comfort level?
@@PodiaTV I personally am laid back, offbeat, humorous, and like to unpack ideas pretty thoroughly as to the concepts then the practicalities. I think a sort of straightforward conversational style, with cut-ins for jokes, tips, and b-roll would work pretty well. I think you'd have to be careful to not overdo this where the video jumped around too much and distracted from the goal or material. Walking a line of education and entertainment where the entertainment was actually helpful, keeping people more engaged.
Is there a way to rid the glare (using light techniques) from the speakers glasses without just getting new glasses lol? When I watch my recorded clip, I can see the screen reflecting in my glasses. Sigh.
Are there any techniques to make the lessons feel less of a lecture and a little more interactive/entertaining/interesting? I'm finding it difficult to do interactive when you aren't actually there and don't have the skills (yet) to do fancy graphics so any suggestions welcome!
This was so clutch. Just rented an office, sat down to start recording my course and quickly realized there's sooo much more preparing I need to do lol
Hi Ben...what a cool and composed video tutorial...those tips are really amazing and i really like the way how you present it so neatly. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Ben for the informative video. I wish to know more about the background please. I see that Ismenia, Damski, Jan and Nick here, have all asked about the background. Please enlighten us on how to setup up a good looking background like yours and how do we control the colour selection? Many thanks
I apologize if this has been asked in the comments already but what software do you use for the hand drawn animation Bulleit points and is the “writing sound” part of that or did you create and upload that sound bite yourself. That’s one simple element I’d like to use for slides and can’t find info on it anywhere. Thanks!
one of the most wonderful videos I have seen on the net, and there are not many of them. Thank you very much for this wonderful effort .... but now I am creating a training course (video content) to teach children fitness at home. Can you give me tools that facilitate me or similar sites for what I do Or courses that have been sold before, please and I'm sorry for the length
I'd like you to nerd out on something that seems pretty simple, but I struggle with... what camera? I know of others that use their fancy camera to go live on FB, so my question is this... Do I just buy a camera, plug it into the USB on my Mac and then choose that camera in order to go live? Also... since that's not really pertaining to video that I edit... do I record onto a SD card and then upload to my computer or should I connect the camera to my laptop and record directly into my computer somehow. Prior to watching your videos, I've been recording myself using zoom personal room (record to computer) and then I share my screen and such. I want to uplevel this obviously, but struggle with the equipment part of everything.
Hi, great tips, I have taken notes and will implement. I have been trying to set a good background with a white wall I have behind and did not know I could remove that shade behind me with another light in opposition to a primary light that should be on an angle. I am making my first course online. Thank you very much. Could you please tell about how to set the background? What is a green screen? What background are you using to film this video? If I want to mix between myself and slides / other videos, what would you use, Canva or PowerPoint? Thank you very much.
@@PodiaTV I want to know if iMovie is enough for me or I should buy Camtasia or Final cut pro. I want to teach such that in my tutorial screen, my pic should come in a corner and my content should appear large. I control my content with Onenote, Zoho writer, and Wacom tools. I want to invest one time, I live i India. I have budget of 20, 000 INR.
What parts of the recording process would you like us to cover more in-depth?

Even after 4 years, your work is still fully valuable. Great job! Thank you.

Good video, i'm surprised more people haven't watched this.
Where did you get the lovely purple background? What were you recording on eg was it Zoom or...?

Do you have any tutorials on video editing? Adding text, split screening, etc? I'm brand new at this and looking for a beginner editor. Thanks!

Hi great easy to follow video, also where did you get your background from?
Thanks Ben! What kind of camera are you using?
do you have any suggested filming equipment?
It has invaluable message and so pretty explained .
Thank 🍫
Great video. What post editing software do you use?
I want to shoot a course, but from a phone looking down on a table. Would you know a way to shoot-from-above?
Really informative, can you use an iPhone for online courses 👏🇬🇧
What about if there are two people on the shot?
I am making a programming video and my face means nothing. Any programs you can recommend?
Is that background behind you a green screen? Or is that a wall with lights pointed at it?
really helpful! what camera do you use?
For these videos, I use the Panasonic GH5. I also (personally) do some film/video work on the side and it's perfect. What about you?
I want to make an online course can you suggest me which software to buy. ?
Are you wanting to know which software to buy for editing videos, making graphics, building your storefront, or all of the above?
