THE LECTURE QUALITY CHECKLIST

The camera lens is clean (image is not cloudy or blurry)

Thanks for the video and the handy checklist. I liked the pull-down color screens (green/white/black) next to your computer. Very smart. I also like the the books on the wall background. Eres el MEJOR! (You are the BEST!)
Thanks Mark! for the books I use 3M picture hanging strips. First I use normal clear tape to keep the book closed, and then I use a small piece of 3M picture hanging strip to stick them to the wall. The great thing about those strips is that they are removable and don't damage the wall paint!

Great tips Miguel! I wish you could relax a little bit on camera but, that will come with time! Ha! Do you have recommendations for compact lighting that doesn't cost a lot? Ciao!
It takes practice Larry. After a few videos it will feel more natural. For lighting you can get nice LED kits on Amazon for less than $300. You don't need anything fancy. If that's too much, you can try to record near a window, but you'll have to make sure your record your videos around the same time of the day to avoid noticeable light fluctuations. Cheers.

At the moment I am unsure how and with which cam I should record myself. My P30 cell phone has a very good cam, but Screenflow does not currently support WebRTC, so I cannot select the cam (Iriun, Camo etc.) as a device.
How do you do it with your Canon that picture and sound are in sync again at the end? I have to say one more thing and that is when I stop or pause the recording of videos (screencasts) very often with the Screenflow shortcuts [cmd + shift + 2 or +1]
Alternatively, I could run the cam in full screen on one monitor and record both monitors with Screenflow. But as well as Supoptimal.
I would appreciate a few experiences from you or your community.
I only get a bit sync delay when using my Sony DSLR connected via the ElGato HDMI to USB dongle. For that, I need to sync the audio after recording.

Can you recommend video conferencing software that I can use to record lectures in 4k?
You can use most modern cameras and even smartphones to record in 4K. However, I’m not sure there is any software capable of streaming video in 4k. Most typical streaming resolution is 1080p.

Hi, thanks for the great content. Please I would like you to advise on how I can record high quality video (like this) with my phone. Is there an app I can download on my android or do I have to buy a camcorder?
If you have a fairly new Android phone, you should be able to get quite good quality video as long as you have proper illumination and follow the instructions in this tutorial.

Which is best camera for educational videos
The simplest way is to get started with a smartphone. Then you can move up to a webcam like the Logitech C920 and a screen recording tool like Camtasia to capture your screen and webcam. Beyond that, you can buy a DSLR camera but that can get expensive. I use a Canon 70D for the talking head videos. But if I need to record my screen, I will use Keynote for the presentation and ScreenFlow (same purpose as Camtasia but for Mac only) to record my screen, microphone, and webcam at the same time.

To record longer, you’ll need to use a different camera or try to break your lessons into smaller sections and stitch them together with a video editing tool like Camtasia, Premiere, or Final Cut.
